The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 376 - 377: Saving People

Chapter 376 - 377: Saving People

"Did you get it all?" Sienna Johnson asked.

"Got it."

Leanne Andrews had never done anything so thrilling in her life. Which woman, encountering a murder scene by accident, could be as calm as Sienna Johnson? Not only did she not scream, but she calmly directed her to record it as evidence and then call the police. She was in awe of Sienna Johnson’s composure.

"Sienna, that scared the life out of me! It’s a good thing you were here. What if you weren’t, and I screamed and they noticed me? Would they have killed me to silence me?" Leanne, ever the screenwriter, let her imagination run wild.

"I don’t know."

Oh my god, this is terrifying! Living in a sparsely populated place really is more prone to trouble.

Champagne Coast was Leanne’s home. The screenwriter had chosen this property because it was remote, had a low occupancy rate, and provided the quiet she needed for her creative work. She never expected a bloody crime would occur in the building across from hers.

She was such a coward. It looked like she’d have to move. Her bedroom directly faced the window of the apartment where the horrific incident occurred. If she woke up in the middle of the night and saw something she shouldn’t in the window opposite, wouldn’t she be scared to death?

"Sienna, do you think that woman will die? She lost so much blood..."

"Even if she doesn’t die, her condition isn’t optimistic."

Sienna Johnson took the video camera and began reviewing the footage, checking if it was clear enough to be used as evidence.

"Isn’t that woman your sister?" Leanne asked, leaning closer to get a better look at the woman on the camera’s screen.

Sienna glanced at Leanne and said sternly, "My sister is Samara. She’s my only sister. Don’t talk nonsense."

"Alright."

A chill crept into Sienna’s heart as she watched the footage. The Sabrina Johnson in the video, viciously attacking a pregnant woman, completely shattered her previous image of her. Sabrina Johnson was long past being the person she once was. Previously, the worst Sabrina had done was slander her to Pauline Briggs or frame her for theft. Now, she even dared to kill.

The sight of Sabrina relentlessly kicking the pregnant woman’s stomach made Sienna’s blood run cold.

Thinking back to when Frederick Stewart and Sabrina had forced her to jump into the sea, Sienna no longer found Sabrina’s current actions surprising. It just meant Sabrina would now have one more life on her conscience.

"Sienna, what should we do?"

"Of course, we need to expose Sabrina Johnson’s crimes! Combined with the recording of Sabrina and Frederick conspiring to kill Dexter Johnson, I’m determined to make them both pay."

Leanne remained silent. Sienna, being cautious, backed up the footage, hid the copy securely, and then got up to leave. "I’ll head back first. I’ll come see you when I have time."

"Wait, I’ll go with you."

Leanne didn’t dare stay in this place alone anymore.

They went downstairs and walked to the car. Once there, Sienna paused, then said, "Leanne, from upstairs, I saw those people carrying that woman down. They definitely won’t take her to the hospital. Let’s check the vicinity. If she’s been dumped nearby, we can get her to a hospital."

Leanne shook her head. "No, it’s too terrifying. Let’s not get involved."

"Leanne, you studied medicine. Do you remember the oath our professor made us recite on our first day of school?"

Leanne certainly remembered.

"The health of my patient will be my first consideration; their life is entrusted to me! As I enter the sacred halls of medicine, I solemnly swear: I will dedicate myself to medicine, uphold medical ethics, respect my teachers and adhere to discipline, study diligently and tirelessly, strive for excellence, and seek comprehensive development. I am resolved to do my utmost to alleviate human suffering, promote perfect health, and preserve the sanctity and honor of the medical arts. I will heal the sick and rescue the dying, undeterred by hardship, pursuing this calling with perseverance, and dedicating my life to the advancement of medical and health services and the physical and mental well-being of all humankind!"

"Leanne, I don’t know what issues that woman has with Sabrina, but knowing her life is in danger, I can’t just stand by and do nothing."

Leanne nodded, saying bravely, "I understand."

Sienna smiled at her. Holding hands, they began searching the residential complex for the injured woman. After a while, they found her in a trash can. They had actually thrown her into a trash can!

It was thanks to Sienna’s keen nose, detecting the scent of blood, that they found the woman; otherwise, they might have missed her entirely.

The woman had already lost consciousness from excessive blood loss. Sienna and Leanne carefully lifted her out of the trash can and laid her on a clean patch of ground.

Sienna pressed her fingers to the woman’s wrist, checking for a pulse.

"Sienna, what do we do? I studied general surgery, not obstetrics and gynecology."

"Call an ambulance." The situation was dire.

"Alright."

「A short while later」

The previously gloomy sky began to rain. Fortunately, Sienna was wearing a trench coat with a hood, which she used as a makeshift umbrella to shield herself from some of the rain.

The two women squatted in the downpour, guarding the unconscious, blood-soaked victim. The scene was utterly eerie.

Luckily, this part of the complex was remote and sparsely populated; otherwise, someone might have reported them to the police, and they could have been arrested.

"Sienna, why isn’t the ambulance here yet?"

"The nearest hospital is at least ten kilometers away; it won’t be that quick. Besides, the rain is making the roads treacherous."

Leanne hugged her arms to her chest, squatting and gazing at the woman on the ground. Suddenly, she felt as if she were transported back to her days in medical school.

Back then, cadavers for the medical school were stored in the basement. Whenever it was time for dissection class, two students had to go down and carry a cadaver up.

Carrying cadavers was a task for everyone, male or female. To build their courage, their mentor insisted female students do it too.

She recalled a time when she and two female classmates had gone to retrieve a cadaver. The elevator had abruptly malfunctioned, plunging them into darkness. Leanne had been carrying a cadaver reeking of Formalin at the time—the memory of that chilling sensation was unforgettable.

"Sienna, you’re pregnant. Why don’t you go find some shelter from the rain? I’ll watch her."

"Aren’t you afraid to be alone?"

"Yeah, I’m scared to death."

Sienna didn’t reply.

Leanne, who always babbled when she was nervous, continued, "Let me tell you, my dad forced me to study medicine. I’m actually terrified of dead bodies. I hate the feeling of a scalpel cutting through skin and flesh. You have no idea, I couldn’t bring myself to eat meat the entire time I was in medical school..."

Sienna remained silent.

"So, as soon as I graduated, I defied my family’s objections and became a screenwriter... My dad even said I was good-for-nothing... Him, so accomplished? And what about that woman surgeon he probably admires? She just spends her days cutting people open! What’s so impressive about that..."

Suddenly, an umbrella opened over Sienna’s head. She looked up and saw an unfamiliar man. Sienna tightened her grip on a rock by her foot, her lips pressed into a thin line. If this man posed any threat, she was ready to use the rock in her hand to strike his vital spots.
