The Best Movie Actor In Hollywood!

Chapter 772

Chapter 772

Tugging her suitcase behind her as she emerged from the throng of travelers, Nini felt a wave of disorientation. The sheer foreignness of it all, of being on the other side of the world, sent a faint tremor through her.

She followed the stream of people toward the terminal exit, a sudden, inexplicable urge rising in her mind: turn back, buy a ticket, and go home.

But her legs kept moving, almost mechanically, and Nini knew exactly where the impulse came from. She had just passed the third round of auditions, securing her spot in the finals. It had given her a surge of confidence she'd never felt before, a belief that she would land the role in Fast Five—a role big enough to change her destiny.

In the end, however, she knew it was not a sure thing.

As she stepped out of the terminal, her eyes scanned the sea of waiting faces until they landed on a sign bearing her name in Chinese characters. It was impossible to miss, a splash of familiarity in a world of English letters.

She approached the man holding it: a tall foreigner with deep-set eyes and a rather ordinary face, but he carried himself with an understated, serious air.

"Hello..." Nini pointed to the name on the sign and tried out her English. "That's my name."

The foreigner nodded. "Hello." Then he pulled out a photograph, held it up to her face for a moment, and said, "I'm Mr. Horner's bodyguard. Please come with me."

Nini managed a smile. "Alright."

The bodyguard glanced at the photo one more time, studying it intently before turning to lead the way.Riding in a black Mercedes-Benz, Nini stared out the window with curiosity as they drove into Beverly Hills, finally arriving at a mansion that occupied a vast estate.

The sheer scale of the place was surprising, but not shocking. Matthew Horner was a famous billionaire, after all.

If all went well, she would soon be able to afford a home almost as grand.

Following the bodyguard out of the car, Nini walked into the center of a spacious living room and saw a familiar figure.

"Hello, Nini." Matthew took the initiative, walking over to greet her. "Welcome."

Nini hesitated for a moment, then set down her suitcase and stepped forward to give Matthew a hug. "Hello. We meet again."

Matthew didn't bother with formalities. "This is your first time in Los Angeles, isn't it? Why don't you stay here for a few days while I get everything arranged?"

Having come this far, Nini no longer wavered. "Of course."

A maid took her luggage.

Her gaze remained fixed on Matthew. The Hollywood superstar was just as he had been on the other side of the Pacific, his demeanor warm and relaxed.

A tall, powerful build, handsome features, a sunny smile, and that unmistakable superstar aura—this Matthew Horner could truly charm any woman.

Lately, she had asked people to dig up information on him. There were countless rumors about Matthew and his women. The most surprising part was that all these women had spoken about it publicly, and all of them seemed extremely satisfied.

"You can spend the next couple of days adjusting to the time difference, and then I'll have someone give you a tour of Los Angeles."

Nini didn't object, simply nodding her head.

"This weekend is the premiere of the second Twilight film, which I invested in," Matthew stated evenly. "If you're interested, you can attend."

Nini's eyes lit up instantly, and she nodded vigorously. "Absolutely! I'll go!"

She had, of course, heard of the Twilight series. Several of its young actors, especially Nina Dobrev, had become overnight sensations.

How incredible would it be if she could land the lead, or even a supporting role, in a series like that!

The thought flashed through her mind, but she knew it was unrealistic. Still, walking the red carpet at the premiere of the second Twilight film was an exciting and entirely possible opportunity.

Perhaps if photos from the event made their way back home, she would become an instant hit?

"Can I..." Nini asked tentatively, "Can I walk the red carpet with you?"

Matthew slowly shook his head. "Not right now." Seeing her look a little crestfallen, he explained, "Once the auditions are over, you'll have plenty of red carpets to walk. There's no need to rush."

Hearing this, Nini's confusion gave way to delight. Didn't this mean she was going to win the audition?

That was the true purpose of her trip.

If she could secure that role, she would have no shortage of red-carpet opportunities in the future.

Nini nodded lightly. "Matthew, I'll do whatever you say."

Matthew maintained his principles on the matter. "Don't worry," he said. "No one can take what belongs to you." He stood up. "I imagine you're tired from the long flight. You should get some rest and recover."

"Alright."

Matthew headed for the stairs. "I'll show you to the guest room."

Nini hurried after him, biting her lip as she walked. By the time they reached the second floor, she had made up her mind. Just in case something changed, it was better to act quickly.

There were other Chinese actresses in Hollywood. What if someone beat her to it?

***

In the days that followed, Nini spent her daylight hours touring Los Angeles with one of the studio's assistants, returning to the Horner estate each night. After that first time, her mind gradually settled.

She could see now that Matthew was intent on giving her the role of the Chinese woman in Fast Five.

After waiting so many years without finding the right opportunity, who would have thought she could break into Hollywood in one fell swoop?

When the time came to return to the entertainment industry across the Pacific as a Hollywood star...

The very thought of it sent Nini's spirits soaring.

And beyond her career, she had come to deeply understand what those other Hollywood actresses had meant. Being with Matthew Horner was a truly gratifying experience on every level—from the visual to the physical and spiritual.

How wonderful it would be if she could stay at the Horner estate for good.

But Nini didn't let herself get carried away. She knew that was impossible.

A week before Thanksgiving in North America, Nini was driven to a Los Angeles theater and escorted inside through a side door. Given the incomparable speed of information today, she, an actress still in the audition process, wasn't cleared for public appearances at promotional events directly tied to the studio. She could only attend the premiere quietly, as a member of the audience.

She entered the theater, found a suitable spot, and watched everything unfolding outside through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows.

It was her first time at a movie premiere, and this one was for the sequel to last year's blockbuster, Twilight.

"I'll have premieres like this in the future, won't I?"

Nini muttered to herself uncertainly. Then her eyes fell upon the star of the evening, Nina Dobrev, on the red carpet, and her resolve hardened. I will definitely have premieres just like this!

She had already paid a price to walk this path. She was determined to make it in Hollywood before ever looking back!

Nini stopped daydreaming, her gaze fixed on the premiere just outside. She wanted to see for herself what was so special about a Hollywood movie premiere.

The event was massive, with so many fans that it was difficult for the stars to even move.

She had seen news reports about the premiere over the past two days: students skipping class, employees calling in sick, some people even flying in from Canada and New York just for these three hours.

There were throngs of fans, a swarm of paparazzi, and a heavy security presence.

It was a sea of people, a chaotic symphony of waving banners, pounding drums, and clashing gongs...

Then she saw Stephenie Meyer, the author of the original novel, dressed to the nines.

One by one, the stars made their way down the red carpet. As it was nearing its end, Nini finally saw Matthew. His appearance on the red carpet triggered an avalanche of applause. Even though he didn't have a role in the film, he was still the most influential person there.

Remembering their last few nights together, Nini felt a sudden sense of accomplishment.

She watched the red-carpet ceremony conclude and then slowly made her way into the screening hall, her mind filled with thoughts of the future as she waited for The Twilight Saga: New Moon to begin.

At the end of the red carpet, Matthew finished his interviews and greeted the cast and crew as they gathered for a group photo in front of the sponsor wall.

There were two directors present, however: Sofia Coppola, who was confirmed to be leaving the series, and David Slade, who had already signed a contract to direct Eclipse.

Twilight wasn't stopping here, and everyone, including Matthew, knew the series would continue to be a success.
