The Best Movie Actor In Hollywood!

Chapter 591

Chapter 591

On the deck of the yacht, Matthew, David, Bearded Jack, Helen, Megan Ellison, Amanda, Stephenie, and Sean, along with their guests, lifted their glasses in a toast. The celebration marked the official start of pre-production for their two mega-projects.

After a few glasses of champagne, the atmosphere on the yacht grew even more lively.

Nina Dobrev’s gaze drifted from the luxurious yacht to the Hollywood celebrities surrounding her, certain she had finally broken into an impressive circle.

She had followed Matthew here and had been spending nearly every evening with him lately.

After the collective toast, the guests began to mingle freely as waiters moved through the crowd, offering drinks and appetizers.

Taking a plate of fruit from one of the waitresses, Nina’s eyes found Matthew. Her goal was simple: to cater to him.

A man like Matthew would never lack for female company. Nina knew he was interested in her now, but once the attraction faded, he would likely move on.

Aren't all playboys like that?

But she wasn't complaining or resentful. This was her choice, and she had already gotten plenty out of it: joint media interviews and a small supporting role in *Fast & Furious 4*. Since she'd been with Matthew, more paparazzi were following her, and the entertainment press was mentioning her name with increasing frequency.

Her agent had even secured her an audition for a top-tier show. That would have been unthinkable before.

Seeing a woman with short blonde hair approach Matthew, Nina picked up the fruit platter and walked toward them.

Her goal was now clear: spend as much time as possible by Matthew’s side and attract more attention to herself.

Matthew was standing by the railing on the second deck, a cool sea breeze washing over his face. Amanda stood opposite him.

“The foundation has officially been renamed the Foundation for Women and Children. The process is complete,” Amanda reported. “And our first charitable donation has already been sent.”

“Good work,” Matthew said with a smile.

Amanda was about to continue but saw the young woman approaching them. "I'll leave you two alone," she said, turning to go.

Matthew simply smiled as Nina walked up to him.

“Care for some fruit?” Nina picked a grape and held it out to Matthew. She glanced in the direction Amanda had gone but didn’t ask, instead remarking, “This yacht is so big.”

“It belongs to Larry Ellison.” Matthew took the grape.

“Hey, Matthew.”

David’s voice came from the left. He walked over with a wide grin and said, "Are you hiding? I haven't seen you since we came aboard."

Matthew rested his hands on the railing. "No, just enjoying the sea breeze."

David nodded a greeting to Nina, then glanced at Matthew.

“We’re finally going to shake things up.”

Matthew, however, waved it off. "Or maybe I'm dragging you into a pit. When these two movies come out, we could be on the verge of bankruptcy."

“Doesn’t matter.” David was unfazed. “It’s just two projects. We’ve invested less than a hundred million in each. Even if they both fail, it’s no big deal.”

Nina, standing nearby, was stunned by David's words. Losing a hundred million dollars was "no big deal"? It was one thing for David Ellison, a super-rich kid, but what about Matthew?

David slapped the white railing he was leaning against. "Disney is willing to lower their percentage just to get the distribution rights!"

He turned his head to look out at the ocean and added, "What I didn't expect was that you'd be into such a clichéd novel."

Matthew shrugged, glancing at Nina. "I just happened to stumble upon it."

“Speaking of *Twilight*,” David replied, “Stephenie was looking for you.”

Matthew nodded. "I'll go find her."

With that, he led Nina away from the railing. They had only walked a short distance when they came face to face with Megan Ellison and Catherine Bigelow, whom he greeted with brief politeness.

Megan saw David and walked over to him alone.

“You trust him that much?” she asked bluntly.

David was puzzled. "Who?"

Then it dawned on him who his sister was talking about, and he laughed. "Didn't you see *300* and its results? Why are you even asking that?"

Megan replied dismissively, "He's just an uneducated bastard who got lucky."

"Wasn't our father the same kind of bastard when he was younger?" David said. "Who believed a guy like that would succeed back then? And Matthew has had countless successes. I'm sure he'll continue to be successful."

“David...” Megan rolled her eyes. “You’re obsessed with Matthew!”

She grimaced and added, "If I didn't know your sexual orientation, I'd suspect you two were a gay couple."

David gave his sister a strange look, then said, "You're the one who got involved with Summit Entertainment, investing in Catherine Bigelow's film *The Hurt Locker*. That's a much bigger risk."

Instead of taking his point, Megan sneered, "Let me remind you, Summit Entertainment is not happy that you stole the rights to the *Twilight* series."

“So what?” David sounded confident. “What are they going to do about it?”

Hearing this, Megan shook her head. Summit Entertainment was just a small company; there was nothing they could do to touch Matthew and David.

Meanwhile, Stephenie finished her conversation with Matthew and walked away with a smile on her face.

Matthew watched her go, knowing that things like this would happen again. He’d have to talk to Sean and Sofia Coppola about it later.

Stephenie had recommended an actress named Rachael Leigh Cook for the supporting role of Alice Cullen, a request he couldn't agree to on the spot, of course.

But he did agree to let Rachael audition for the part.

Recommendations like that were common in Hollywood, especially since Stephenie wasn't exactly an industry insider.

The yacht pulled up to the dock, and the small celebration came to an end. Matthew took Nina with him as he left.
