The Best Movie Actor In Hollywood!

Chapter 453

Chapter 453

Setting down her knife and fork, Alexandra picked up a napkin and wiped her mouth while Matthew glanced at the porcelain plate of noodles in front of her.

He asked with concern, "Are you finished? Why don't you eat a little more?"

Alexandra shook her head. "I've gained some weight recently, so I need to watch what I eat."

For many women, food was less appealing than a perfect figure, and he had grown accustomed to this in Hollywood, a place where attractive faces and alluring bodies were paramount.

"Gained weight?" Matthew said with a smile. "I don't see it."

Alexandra smiled back. "I'm the type who gains weight easily."

Matthew nodded. "You can burn off any extra calories with the right exercise."

"Well, I have been working out. A while ago, the producer, David, told me to lose weight for the shoot and look more like a woman surviving in a post-apocalyptic world."

Matthew finished the last small piece of his steak. "I'd almost forgotten your character had such specific requirements."

He picked up his napkin, wiped his mouth, and asked, "How's your father doing? Is everything all right?"Alexandra lowered her voice. "He's finished with city hall, and the film crew is working on the shooting permits."

"When does filming for I Am Legend begin?"

"I'm not sure exactly when. Goldsman hasn't given me any notice yet."

A while ago, Warner Brothers had moved the release of 300 to early November, so he and Helen had informed the I Am Legend team that they would need to adjust the filming schedule, as he definitely wouldn't be able to remain on set during that time.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

Matthew took out his phone and glanced at the screen. He answered it, exchanged a few words, then hung up and gave Alexandra an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Alexandra, I have to get to South Bowell Street."

"That's fine," Alexandra replied with a smile. "I'm heading to Burbank to meet Helen anyway. Let's go together."

Matthew nodded.

He paid the bill and left the restaurant with Alexandra. Just as they were walking out the door, a flash went off across the street.

With Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest having just been released, the paparazzi were undoubtedly following him.

Instead of shying away, Alexandra Daddario casually straightened her back, accentuating her impressive bust.

The two of them got into the Mercedes, and Matthew immediately started the car, heading toward Burbank.

Robert Iger, the current CEO of The Walt Disney Company, wanted to meet him for an afternoon chat at a café on South Bowell Street.

Matthew had a good idea what Iger wanted to discuss, but he and Helen were absolutely firm on their position: if Disney wouldn't pay him what he expected, there would be no discussion of a National Treasure sequel.

Of course, he would be there; he had to show the CEO of The Walt Disney Company that courtesy.

An old Ford sedan trailed the Mercedes, carrying two paparazzi from TMZ who had been tailing Matthew for the past few days. They had been on him since the moment he left Horner Estate today, snapping countless photos and videos.

The younger of the two was driving while the older one scrolled through the day's shots on his digital camera.

The older man muttered as he flicked through the pictures, "He goes through women faster than he goes through clothes."

"Brian, did you get a shot of his companion?" the young reporter driving the car asked.

The older one nodded. "I got her, but I don't recognize her for some reason."

"Who cares!" The young man sounded a little excited. "Did you see her chest? Those are melons!"

The older man flipped back to a close-up of Alexandra and stared for a moment.

The young reporter was clearly impressed. "Has Horner changed his tastes? Isn't he afraid of getting smothered in there?"

The senior reporter laughed at that, then declared, "I doubt that would stop him."

The young reporter shook his head, then said, a bit hesitantly, "But it's weird. Adriana Lima, for example, never answered any questions about her and Matthew posed by our colleagues in Brazil and New York, even though reporters photographed her on a trip to Rio de Janeiro with Matthew Horner, holding hands and staying at the same hotel."

"Adriana Lima is a smart woman. A woman who made it as a supermodel is no fool."

"What do you mean?"

"With Horner's current level of fame, the entertainment media watches his every move. Adriana doesn't need to say a thing."

The younger man thought about the reaction to the various stories about Matthew and Lima that had been published one after another a while back, from TMZ to other entertainment outlets, and had to agree. "That makes sense."

"It doesn't just make sense, it's the truth."

The older man, who had been in the business for many years and had become a permanent part of Ilana's staff, knew a lot about the entertainment world. "A star with Horner's fame and appeal doesn't have to do much to have women who want to be famous throwing themselves at him."

He turned toward the driver's seat. "How many beautiful women are desperate for fame in New York and Los Angeles alone, let alone the rest of America?"

"Countless..." the young reporter replied.

The older man smiled and shook his head. "Horner is a shortcut to fame. Besides, Matthew is a good-looking guy, and what Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson said before is basically an advertisement for him. So even if he weren't famous, how many of these girls wouldn't want a lover like Matthew Horner?"

The younger man glanced at the back of the Mercedes ahead of them and suddenly said, "I heard our boss has a very close relationship with Matthew?"

The older man shook his head again. "I don't know much about that. All I know is that Horner has been friends with Ilana since he was a C-list actor, and they've kept in touch over the years, so they're probably close friends."

The two TMZ paparazzi followed him from Santa Monica to South Bowell Street in Burbank, where they saw the Mercedes pull up in front of a café diagonally across from the Disney studio, and hastily raised their cameras, shutters clicking.

The younger one went after Alexandra, while the older one kept shooting Matthew.

Within ten minutes of the younger man's departure, the older one saw Matthew Horner leaving the café. He had just raised his camera to take a few shots when Robert Iger, the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, also walked out and shared a laugh with Horner in front of the café.

Apparently, Matthew had just gone into the café to meet with him.

Would there be a new collaboration between Horner and Disney? The senior reporter was curious and snapped several pictures of Matthew and Robert Iger laughing together.

Whatever they had talked about, he would have something to write about when he got back.

Shortly after, Iger got into his car and left, and Matthew drove off as well.
