The Best Movie Actor In Hollywood!

Chapter 331

Chapter 331

The weather in Los Angeles is pleasant in February, making it an excellent time to visit the city. The Hollywood district, in the traditional sense, has long since transformed into a tourist hub rather than a place exclusively for film studios.

Thanks to the fame of Hollywood movies and the allure of attractions like the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood area draws a massive number of tourists every year.

The number of visitors typically peaks just before the Oscar Awards.

Adeline Lewis and Michelle Williams, a young student couple from the UK and avid fans of Hollywood films, were among those tourists.

"So this is the Walk of Fame!"

Standing on the terrazzo sidewalk, Adeline gazed at the star beneath her feet, easily making out the name on it. "Every star here has a superstar's name on it!" she exclaimed.

Michelle, who had been taking her picture, lowered his camera and countered, "I don't think so. I don't recognize the name on the star at my feet."

Adeline pouted. "You always have to spoil the mood, you killjoy."

But her smile quickly returned. She turned toward the Kodak Theatre, waiting for Michelle to follow before pointing at it and saying, "The Oscars will be held here in less than ten days. It would be amazing to be here for it."

But Michelle dashed her dreams. "Yeah, that would be great, but unfortunately, we can't wait that long. We have to be back in England in two days."Remembering this, Adeline's expression fell. With her head hung low, she walked all the way to the Kodak Theatre, stopping near a large screen on its wall that was displaying a commercial.

She was just about to speak when she heard the roar of engines in the sky. Looking up, she saw several helicopters approaching from the distance, carrying what appeared to be a gigantic banner. As the helicopters flew closer at a low altitude, the letters on it became clearly visible.

Michelle looked up at the helicopters and read the words on the banner: "Charlize, please say 'yes'!"

He glanced at the name at the bottom of the banner and murmured, "Matthew Horner."

Michelle looked at Adeline and asked, "Who's Matthew Horner?"

"Have you forgotten?" Adeline reminded him. "The Scorpion King, Will Turner, Benjamin Gates."

"Oh, right. Him." Realization dawned on Michelle. "Is he trying to woo the Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron?"

No sooner had he spoken than the advertisement on the large screen in front of them changed to the same phrase as the banner hanging from the helicopter.

"Charlize, please say 'yes'!"

The name written below was still "Matthew Horner."

Looking into the distance, Michelle noticed that the same words had appeared on an electronic billboard further away.

It was clear that Matthew had suddenly decided to court Charlize and was making a grand spectacle of it.

"How romantic!" Adeline's eyes sparkled. "It would be so wonderful if someone did that for me!"

Michelle, not the least bit embarrassed, corrected her. "That's not romantic, that's just money."

He grumbled with a fair bit of envy, "I wonder how much it costs to pull something like this off."

...

At that moment, every large electronic billboard across Hollywood had turned into a declaration of love from Matthew.

Several helicopters circled continuously over Hollywood, displaying the banners for everyone in the area to see.

The show was expensive. Helen and the core team from "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" had pulled out all the stops to get that many helicopters circling at a low altitude over Hollywood.

Almost immediately after the helicopters arrived over the Hollywood area, reports of the event appeared online. The paparazzi from TMZ were well-prepared, capturing photos and videos from multiple locations that were promptly published on their website.

However, the spectacle was short-lived. The messages on the billboards disappeared in less than five minutes—after all, the show was costly, and even with the entire bill covered by the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" team, it couldn't last long.

Finally, Matthew gave an exclusive interview to Ilana.

"I met Charlize two years ago, and we've always been good friends."

Standing before the camera, Matthew delivered a half-truth. "After filming 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' together, I got to know Charlize much better. She's an amazing woman. Then, last month, when I went to Germany to sign my contract with Mercedes-Benz, Charlize happened to be in Munich as well. We explored the city together, and in the process, our conversations grew deeper and deeper. That's when I realized she was the one I had been looking for. She is my goddess."

The short interview concluded, and Matthew and Ilana quickly left in their car before other journalists could arrive.

Ten minutes later, however, the video appeared at the top of numerous websites.

Frankly, the PR stunt was simple, somewhat crude, and not very creative, but it was extremely effective and quickly generated a massive amount of buzz.

Although Charlize said nothing to the reporters and their cameras after the Dior event ended, the reaction from her fans was overwhelming.

The video of Matthew saving Charlize from Stuart last year was being rewatched on many websites, and most people supported Matthew and wanted to see him and Charlize get together.

With one being an Oscar winner and the other a popular star, one could imagine the stir such a high-profile declaration of love would cause.

Even many media outlets began to speculate that Matthew and Charlize were made for each other.

But for a long time, Charlize didn't respond affirmatively, only remaining silent.

As the gossip began to cool, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" team released the first official trailer for the film, which focused entirely on the rivalry between Matthew and Charlize, highlighting the scenes where the two fall in love.

The trailer was so well-received that it was released simultaneously on several television channels and websites. On Matthew's personal blog alone, the trailer video garnered over 50,000 views in a single day.

Of course, as soon as the trailer dropped, some inevitably suspected that the preceding incident had been a deliberate publicity stunt. But the team, Matthew, and Charlize had contingency plans in place, and it didn't take long to silence the skeptics.

Besides, such suspicions were limited to a minority. The majority of people follow celebrity gossip at face value and couldn't care less about the reality of the situation.

In this era, social media had not yet taken off, and the public was not immune to Hollywood's hype machine.

There were even many fans of Matthew and Charlize who took it for granted that the two of them should be together.

TMZ dedicated an entire section to Matthew and Charlize, predicting when they would officially get together.

The entertainment news and gossip site also listed the reasons why they should be a couple.

"They have to be together. They appeared in Munich holding hands. They should also appear at the Oscars in Los Angeles holding hands."

"We understand, without a doubt, the kind of destiny they are bound to create by being together, just as Hollywood producers see with extraordinary clarity the enormous box-office value hidden behind pairing certain actors. The trailer for 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' proves this brilliantly!"

"Why do audiences always expect on-screen couples to be in love in real life? Because they look good together, because their feelings in the film seem real, and we, indisputably, share that sentiment."
