Chapter 653: It can only mean that my wife is abnormal, right?
Chapter 653: It can only mean that my wife is abnormal, right?
"Winning percentage?" Mr. Xu repeated, then withdrew his gaze and looked back at Munni, speaking calmly: "She’s definitely going to prison."A simple sentence, as if sentencing Xia Yuge’s future.
It’s an undisputed fact that Xia Yuge shot Xia Weifu; now that Xia Weifu is dead, even if she insists it was self-defense, she’s unlikely to escape punishment.
Moreover, with no way out, Xia Yuge exposed the JR Gang; even if she wanted to save herself, it’s likely the JR Gang would leave her defenseless.
Seeing his composed expression, Munni couldn’t help but want to tease him, so she mischievously quipped, "Aren’t you worried about your old lover?"
"I’m worried if I care for her, my Mrs. Xu would get jealous."
Munni pouted, somewhat arrogantly asking, "Are you suggesting in your eyes, Mrs. Xu is such a petty person?"
Mr. Xu’s lips held a slight smile as he replied, "Not necessarily, just that typically, wives get jealous when their husbands care for other women, right?"
"Maybe your wife is an exception?"
Mr. Xu reached out a hand, gently pinched Munni’s rosy cheek, and teased playfully, "That would probably just mean my wife is abnormal."
Munni grabbed the hand on her cheek, lowered both their hands, and while rubbing Mr. Xu’s hand, smiled innocently and asked, "Did you say something?"
Mr. Xu saw a hint of threat in her smile, so wisely changed his tone and said, "I meant it shows my wife is broad-minded, gracious, and dignified."
His flattering tone made Munni burst into giggles; she deliberately tickled Mr. Xu’s palm lightly and replied haughtily, "Good to see you have insight."
"Mrs. Xu trained me well."
Munni pursed her lips into a smile and gazed out the window.
Seeing the familiar scenery outside, her smile momentarily paused, then she instinctively turned to look at Mr. Xu, who also turned his gaze to the scenery.
"Mr. Xu."
Called by name, Mr. Xu feigned as though he hadn’t heard a thing, tilting his head to look out the window.
Feeling ignored, Munni let go of his hand and called again, "Mr. Xu."
Detecting seriousness in her tone, Mr. Xu knew he couldn’t continue pretending, so he retracted his gaze and looked back at Munni, "Hmm? Honey, what’s up?"
"Where are we going?"
"Home."
Munni slightly furrowed her brows, "What about the hospital?"
"I was officially discharged today."
"Who approved it?"
"Doctor Yang."
Munni’s brows furrowed deeper, "Didn’t Doctor Yang say you couldn’t be discharged until next week?"
"So I went through the back door."
Mr. Xu’s candid response left Munni amused yet exasperated.
"Making unauthorized decisions without higher approval, Mr. Xu, are you planning to kneel on a keyboard?"
"Honey, I didn’t do it just for myself. You did say you were bored in the hospital; getting discharged a week early is a relief for both of us."
His righteous tone seemed as if early discharge was entirely for Munni’s benefit.
Munni couldn’t help but roll her eyes, "You have so many excuses, what did Doctor Yang say?"
"Doctor Yang said I could go back to the hospital for a check-up in a couple of days. There’s no harm being discharged now; I just need to take medicine on time."
Just as Mr. Xu mentioned, Munni had been in the hospital for two months since the car accident, and she was already quite tired of it.
