Seeing that the soft approach was ineffective, Xia Yuge had no choice but to try the hard approach. She spoke up, threatening, "Aren’t you afraid that I’ll tell the police about how you imprisoned me and Xia Weifu, and also the violence inflicted on us?"Qin Muni chuckled lightly as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She looked at Xia Yuge with a contemptuous expression and replied, "You can try."

Even if Xia Yuge did go to the police, they probably wouldn’t investigate it seriously. And even if they did, they might not find anything.

Xia Yuge was truly disheartened. She stared blankly at Qin Muni, who sat elegantly and gracefully opposite her, and murmured, "Qin Muni, are you really that heartless?"

Qin Muni stood up from her chair, clearly feeling there was no longer any need to continue wasting time with Xia Yuge.

After leaving the prison, Qin Muni instructed the driver to return to the hospital, having to cancel the original plan to go to the restaurant.

The car drove for a long time before arriving at the hospital’s underground VIP passage. Qin Muni took the elevator to the VIP floor and then walked directly to the door of Xu Yisen’s ward.

The bodyguard at the door, upon seeing Qin Muni, bowed slightly in greeting, "Madam, the chairman is meeting with Vice Chairman Liu."

"Okay, please knock on my door to remind me once Vice Chairman Liu leaves."

"Yes, madam."

Qin Muni paused in her steps and then walked back to her own ward.

Vice Chairman Liu stayed in Xu Yisen’s ward for nearly an hour before leaving, and during this time, Qin Muni received a phone call from her non-blood-related brother Zhang Chufeng.

After Vice Chairman Liu left, the bodyguard knocked on Qin Muni’s ward door to remind her that she could go to Xu Yisen’s ward.

After responding, Qin Muni got up and walked into the adjacent ward of Xu Yisen.

Xu Yisen was leisurely sitting in a wheelchair, reading the document in his hand. He looked up with a smile when he heard footsteps, "Why are you back so soon?"

Qin Muni walked up to Xu Yisen, bent down slightly, and gave him a kiss on the forehead before returning to the ward: "I didn’t go to the restaurant."

If either Qin Muni or Xu Yisen got involved with this case to help Xia Yuge, they would certainly be able to get Xia Yuge out.

Yet, clearly, neither of them had any intention of helping her.

"Hmm, that’s what I thought too."

After a pause, she recalled the phone call she had just received from Zhang Chufeng and said to Xu Yisen, "Zhang Chufeng will be returning to the country in a couple of days and wants to visit you."
