you are getting out tonight is all I keep hearing as troy explains the plan to me. I’ve been wanting to leave this place for two years now, I’m so excited, I’ll see Mother. How is she?

“ I can’t wait to see Mama,” I whisper happily to troy, he smiles but shakes his head.

“ you can’t see her,” he says in a sympathetic tone, what does he mean I can’t see my mother, is he crazy? I’ve been separated from her for two years I look at him unsure what to say but he’s serious. I know my stepfather died, I overheard Marion talking about it that’s how they got me.

“It's too dangerous, once you leave Marion will hunt you down we can’t have Sela in danger,” he finishes, I nod in understanding. He’s right I have to lay low for a while, for now, he doesn’t know where she is

I sigh nodding, it’s safer this way, once again I find myself looking through the window at the cottage, it’s dark in there.

The next morning, I don’t see Marion thank God, Probably refraining from all the insults I’ll send his way. It’s been silent today, no gunshots or screams the whole day and I haven’t left the room, breakfast was sent over but I refused to eat, all I want to do is get out of here.

I see my side once again but it’s still so red and I’m forced to wear open clothing now. I watch Tv but it doesn't interest me in any way, If I leave what does the world have out there, I can’t go back home without endangering my mother, even if I run where will be safe, Marion is very powerful in the business and has people all over the world.

I’m pulled out of my thoughts when cars start to pull in, I go to the balcony, watching beautiful and luxurious cars here, and Marion comes out of the house with a smile to greet his guest, I must say he looks gorgeous in a grey suit and a hat.

I smile I can't believe there was a time I fantasized about him why does he have to be this violent, I touch my mark and hiss from the pain.

A woman comes out with a high ponytail and long heels in a work suit, she looks older than me and goes straight to kiss him deeply, they are sucking each other and it doesn’t bother me in the least.

Next to them is a man, he is handsome with white skin, and red lips, his eyes are red but there is a shine to them like he's wearing contacts, he keeps talking to Tai, arguing.

“ I got it for you now tell me where she is!” he screams at him in an Australian accent. But Tai keeps shaking his head enjoying his despair, he goes dangerously close to him. Tai removes what looks like a piece of jewelry, it’s so odd but another woman comes into view.

“ it will do,” she says, what is this? What is Marion doing now, all I know is that it can’t be good. They are arguing about jewelry? With them is another young girl close to Tai, short and thin, she’s shaking, probably high on drugs, and bites marks on her neck, oblivious to whatever is going on.

" He'll be pleased that you got it my darling," Tai goes to kiss the tall woman kissing her lovingly, was she just kissing Marion a while back? As if feeling my eyes Mario turns to look at me for a long time and I don’t avoid contact.

I’m leaving you psycho. I turn away, going back inside, I look around this place has been my prison for almost two years, I came when I was eighteen.

It's almost 7 pm, I sit on the couch brushing my hair when the door opens,

“ Why aren’t you ready for the party?” asks Marion looking at the cream white cocktail dress on my bed and nude heels.

“ Not going,” I say flatly looking away. He raises his brow.

“ I don’t want to hurt you, you’ve been fighting me since you came here,” he says holding my arm, his brown eyes shining, I shake my head getting out of his grip.

“ Mi Chiquita, listen to me, I better find you ready when I come back,” he turns but something catches my eye. A silver gun in his belt.

“ who killed my father?” I ask, he stops in his tracks not looking at me, but I know that gun, it’s the one that was used to kill my Father and Uncle, I can never forget it, it looks unique and has some black paint on top I shake my head, my body shaking it’s like reliving it, me standing on the stairs close to the wall and dead bodies everyone, I closed my eyes thinking it's a dream but when I opened they were still there. Two men came where my father and uncle were in the salon, first they shot my uncle so many times in the chest and then did the same to my father

Before I could react my mother closed my mouth, carefully taking me upstairs to their room.

“Mama,” I cried as my mother shook her head, telling me to be strong.

“ We are getting out of here my brave girl, there are some bad people after us my baby, and they will take you as payback but it’s okay I won’t let them,” she says going in the safe and getting a lot of money and jewelry. Some of the bodyguards came through another entrance.

“ Ma'am let’s go, our men are already waiting at the back roads,” my mother nods, asking the two men to lead the way.

It took months for us to pick up again, our new home was just as big as our old one, but I was still all new to this and only sixteen, my mother married Leo to empower us and keep me safe

Life went on but my mother worked harder to pick up the business I don’t know but it had a lot to do with drugs, my mother is a strong woman, a woman of substance, and very brave.

She rose to the top, looked for new clients since our old ones didn’t want to do business anymore, I didn’t go out without guards, I rarely left the estate after my eighteenth birthday I went out for the first time in a long time that's how I ended up here

“ Did you have my father killed?” I ask but he keeps quiet. I choke up a sob

they were friends and partners.

“ why?” I whisper, finally, he looks up to me, looking at me intensely

“ He was standing in my way of what I wanted,” he says with a smirk, I shake my head unable to believe this, he killed them for me. “ plus we had a business misunderstanding,” he adds coming close, tears fall and I don’t stop them, I feel anger bubbling up,

“ Shhh, don’t cry, I hate seeing you this upset,” he whispers kissing my neck and touching me. I hate him, he killed my father, he was the bad person mother was talking about, I sob more but he pulls away with a frown wiping my tears, and goes back to kissing me.

I smack him in the face hard as I try to get out of his grip, he releases me touching his cheek before coming fast towards me ripping my shirt, I begin to struggle against him, he’s a monster, he forced my mother into hiding, I hit his chest but he pushes me on the bed, hovering over me and taking off his jacket. I scream for him to let me go but he continues his assault before he can take off my skirt the door abruptly opens, and he stops moving now holding my hands above my head.

“ yes, Mikael?” He hisses looking at him with angry eyes.

“ Where is she? I kept my end of the deal, I got it now I have royal guards on my back, I’ve been marked,” this Mikael guy says seriously, ignoring me, I keep thrashing under him.

“ Tai has that information,” he says getting off me now glaring at Mikael.

“ You lied to me, you were never going to tell me, all you want is for me to do your baiting, that bitch Stephanie, I’ll deal with her,” he sneers going dangerously close to him and then punching him, Marion falls to the ground, he chuckles getting up looking straight at Mikael, I sit on the edge of the bed

“ you ruined my shirt,” he says going to the closet, Mikael walks over to me slowly, my heart is beating very fast as I begin to retreat, he is that guy who was arguing with Tai, he bends down grabbing a piece of shattered glass from the floor.

“ do. don’t,” I stutter, he’s going to kill me, this man is worse than Marion, his face is void of emotions. What do I do?

He gets my hand, his touch is cold.

He gets the glass and put it in my hand, he nods going out, I look at it, it’s small but very Sharp, and he comes out again just leaning against the door.

“ you want revenge right? Do it oh and check his right pocket get what you’ll find it might just save your life,” he says closing the door just when Marion comes back with a new shirt.

“ Now where were we?”
