The Alpha's Cinderella

Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Serena

Tension hung heavy in the air as Damon, Ashford, and I found ourselves encircled by Mathilde and her menacing entourage. My heart raced, and my fists clenched tightly at my sides. Anger and disappointment radiated from my glare directed at my half-sister, Tori, who now stood in shame behind her mother.

"What have you done?" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and sorrow. Tori's tears flowed freely, and her guilt was evident in every sob that wracked her fragile frame. “We trusted you, Tori! You promised to do the right thing this time!”

Hearing that, Mathilde sneered at me with a wicked grin. "Do you expect my daughter to betray me? Dream on!" Her voice was chilling and calculating, and her eyes gleamed with a twisted sense of satisfaction.

Damon stepped forward, looking at the commanding guards who threatened us. "How dare you point your weapons at me! Have you forgotten who I am? I am the Alpha Heir of Blood Rose.

His eyes locked on Mathilde, his voice brooking no opposition. “I command you to lower your weapons and stop following orders from this witch. Now! Or else, I will not hesitate to send you to the pack’s dungeon to be tortured.”

But the guards remained rooted to their spots, their loyalty to Mathilde unshaken. Damon's frustration swelled, and fury flared in his eyes. He was accustomed to unquestioning obedience, and this defiance grated on him.

“Why are you following this woman instead of listening to me? I am the future Alpha of this pack!”

Mathilde, taunted Damon with a sly smile, her words dripping with sarcasm. "Maybe you should have earned your authority instead of shoving it in their faces, dear Alpha Heir."

Damon's face contorted with offense. He retorted, "How dare you speak to me like that! Who do you think you are?"

Mathilde simply smirked, her confidence unshaken. "I am acting on behalf of the Blood Rose Alpha," she said, her voice laced with a hint of mockery.

Damon couldn't help but mock her in return. "Really? Says who?" The tension in the air escalated as the standoff continued, with neither side willing to yield.

Just in a sudden arrival shattered the silence. It was Alpha Roman, the formidable Alpha of Blood Rose. His unexpected presence sent shockwaves through the gathered assembly, leaving Damon and the rest of us stunned.

Alpha Roman's deep voice cut through the standoff, his authority unwavering as he spoke, "It was I, Damon. I gave Mathilde permission to act on my behalf. Got a problem with that?" He had always been the embodiment of power and strength, his authority unquestioned.

His words hung heavy in the air, and the tension shifted as we all grappled with the turn of events. I watched Damon's bold words slice through the silence, shock etched across his handsome face.

"Alpha, Mathilde is just using you for her ambitions," Damon accused, his voice firm. "And that's not all. She pimped her own daughter, Tori, to you, showing how cunning and desperate she is for power."

Alpha Roman's brows furrowed with a mixture of anger and disbelief. Obviously, he despised the idea that Damon would utter such accusations about Tori and Mathilde. The surrounding atmosphere crackled with tension, everyone aware that we were teetering on the precipice of a drastic change.

As the silence hovered over us, Alpha Roman leaned forward. His eyes locked onto Damon, and his voice resonated with authority.

"Very well, Damon," he said, his words cutting through the tension like a knife. "If you want this to end, then let's end this with a fight. If you win, you shall have the Blood Rose Pack, and you will become the new Alpha. But if I win, and you are still alive by then, you and all your friends and allies will be banished from the pack forever."

Damon didn't hesitate. His eyes locked onto Alpha Roman's with a steely resolve, and he nodded in acceptance. His jaw was set with unwavering determination, as if he had been preparing for this moment his entire life.

Alpha Roman's voice, unwavering and resolute, pierced through the tense atmosphere. "Very well, Damon. But remember, this is not just a challenge; it's a battle that will determine your fate. This will prove whether you are worthy to become my heir. Are you ready to face the consequences, no matter the outcome?"

Damon's response was unwavering, a testament to the depth of his conviction. "I am, Alpha Roman. If this is the only way for you to listen, then so be it.”

All eyes remained fixated on them, their destinies hanging in the balance of a pivotal showdown.
