Chapter 40

Alexei

As I observed from where I was standing, the thrill of finally seeing her up close sent a surge of happiness coursing through me. She was even more captivating than I had imagined. Her every movement, every expression, was a revelation of beauty that took my breath away.

I couldn't help but admire her grace, the way her hair framed her delicate features, and the way her eyes sparkled with a unique combination of strength and tenderness. Her presence was like a magnet, drawing me in, and I couldn't tear my eyes away. My heart swelled with joy at the sight of the woman who was meant to be mine.

As I stood there, hidden from view, I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate details of her beauty, the way her lips curved when she smiled, the grace in her movements, and the enchanting aura that surrounded her. It was a moment I had longed for, and the happiness I felt was immeasurable.

Approaching Tori, my heart raced with anticipation as I intended to hug her from behind, but just as I moved closer, she turned to face me and took a step back. Her eyes widened in surprise, and she was about to shout when I swiftly covered her mouth. The electricity between us was palpable, and a potent tension filled the air as our eyes locked.

I sensed Tori's rapid breaths gradually slowing down as her fear subsided, so, I gently removed my hand from her mouth. Our eyes remained locked in a fiery and intense gaze, speaking volumes without the need for words.

Her lips parted, and in a soft, breathless whisper, she said, "Mate." The word hung in the air, heavy with meaning, and it sent a thrill through my body, igniting a fiery passion in my veins. It was the moment I had longed for, the confirmation that we were truly destined for each other.

Her voice, so soft and filled with desire, prompted our first kiss. Our lips met in a slow, sensual dance, a movement that even I was not familiar with navigating. It was as if my body had a mind of its own, a thing I was glad to have at the moment. t was a kiss filled with longing, a promise of the desire that had smoldered between us for so long, and it left us both breathless and wanting more. Our, passionate connection seemed to last an eternity. We were both consumed by our desire for each other's touch, and I couldn't resist exploring the contours of her body with my eager hands. Her desires were awakened, matching my own, as the world around us melted away.

My hands trembled with desire as I was on the brink of removing the satin dress that clung to her body, ready to explore the depths of our passionate connection. But in an unexpected twist, Tori gently pushed me away, leaving me bewildered and breathless. My longing still burning brightly, and I stared at her with disbelief in my eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked, my voice heavy with both disappointment and concern.

Tori's eyes reflected a complex mix of emotions – desire, conflict, and a hint of uncertainty. In a whisper, she confessed, "I can't. I'm about to marry the Alpha of Blood Rose Pack."

The weight of those words sank into my heart like a heavy boulder, and I couldn't deny the pain that filled me. I was reminded of her betrothal to the strongest wolf in the land, sending millions of daggers piercing my heart. But I knew the truth behind those words.

"But you don't want that, Tori. I can feel it through our kisses. Your desires mirror mine, and I can't bear the thought of you being with that dirty old man."

Tori hesitated, her eyes searching mine as she struggled with her inner turmoil. Her eyes moved restlessly as if looking for another escape from the truth I uttered with conviction. With that, I pressed on. I need to let her realize that she was making a big mistake being engaged to the Alpha. I had to do something for her to acknowledge what her heart truly wanted.

“If your utmost desire is to marry the Blood Rose Alpha and rule as his Luna on his side, then you have to reject this mateship as early as now. Do it, Tori. Free us from this scared bod!”

But Tori’s eyes glistened in teras and I saw her immense disapproval of my plan. I plastered a smile filled with a glimmer of hope. “You can’t, don’t you? You won’t do it because you feel the same for me too.”

It was a spark of the connection we shared, an acknowledgment that our destinies were intertwined. I couldn't resist leaning in, eager to capture her lips in a kiss once more. My desire to be near her was like a wildfire that couldn’t be quenched.

Just as our lips were about to meet, the sound of approaching footsteps outside the room caught our attention. Panic surged through her, and I knew by her reaction that it was Alpha Roman.

Tori acted quickly. She pushed me toward the balcony and whispered urgently, "Hide under the balcony. It'll mask your scent." She then sprayed some cologne in the room to camouflage my presence. And fixed her satin dress and composed herself.

I crouched under the balcony, my heart pounding in my chest as I watched Tori hurriedly straighten herself. She opened the door, and Alpha Roman entered. My stomach twisted with unease as I eavesdropped on their conversation, uncertain of what would happen next.
