The Alpha Prince's Redemption

The Neighboring Pack

The Neighboring Pack

Nalya

I dreaded going downstairs in the morning after what happened last night. I wore a large shirt and sweatpants. I made it to the common area. Everyone turned to me and whispered to each other. As I went past them, they were apologizing to me. I wasn't expecting this reaction at all.

Arms wrapped around me as I stepped out. I turned around to hug Azura, " Zac told me what happened last night. I'm sorry those little brats did that to you,"

"Yeah, don't worry when they get out of the dungeons. We are shunning them," One of Azura's friends added with a smile.

"Thank you, but you don't have to do that for me," I said quietly.

"Oh, trust me, it will be fun ruining their reputation. No one will remember them when they come out," Azura said. I rested my head on her arm, and she stroked my hair like a sister would. My heart seemed at ease.

As I chatted with the girls, I saw the Prince, and my breath hitched. No man was as beautiful as Rhaegar Silvius. He was mighty and more. He tore his gaze away from me as Nate and Kendrick came to his side. They entered the car.

"So many unspoken words there," Azura gave me a suspicious look. I just shook my head, not wanting her to ask anything else.

I spent my morning with Azura since Madam Royce told me not to do any work in the pack house today.

"Alright, I'll get ready to go to the country club now," I said.

"Already, it's only ten," she pouted.

"And I'm late. I won't even make it to the briefing in time," I ran back to my room and changed into my work clothes. I was grateful Azura offered to take me.

There wasn't much to do today which sucked because I wanted to keep my mind busy from thoughts of my mate. Rhaegar was all I thought of. He was angry that Bithia and Uria did that to me, and ordered they be punished.

'Are you happy he defended us?' I asked my wolf.

'Not really. If he accepted us none of that would have happened,' she said. I sighed, her heart was distant, and she was still in pain.

'But still, it's cool,'

'Just work, human,' she sighed.

'Don't be bitter,' I said.

'Why aren't you?' she asked.

'I'm hurting, but I don't hate him. I'm trying to understand his reasons,'

'That we are not good enough.' she spat. ' I'm just so angry at Prince Rhaegar because we don't deserve this, you don't. Nalya, you're such a good human,'

'Thank you,' I smiled and continued to do my work.

I knocked off at twenty again, and as I walked back to the pack house, I heard an unfamiliar voice.

"Hi," I turned around to see a man. I gulped and looked around worriedly, luckily the streets weren't isolated.

"Nalya," he said with a charming smile. I fidgeted under his amused gaze, trying to remember where I met him because he looked familiar.

He was the man I bumped into in the hall.

"Hello," I said.

"I saw you at the country club when I was leaving and thought to say hi," he said, " I'm Layth Thorn, Alpha of the Neighboring Pack,"

I didn't know an Alpha could come into another pack's territory.

"Oh, thank you. I should be going now," I bowed and turned to walk away, but Alpha Thorn walked beside me.

"Tell me about yourself, Nalya," he said. " Why are you here?"

"Hmm," I didn't know how to answer or what to say.

"I'm 18 years old, and the Alpha Prince was kind enough to let me stay here," I said quickly. He nodded.

"That's unlikely of Prince Rhaegar. He's so protective of his pack," he muttered.

"I'm lucky,"

"I doubt that," he whispered, but I heard. The packed house came into view.

"I should go in now, Alpha Thorn. Have a pleasant evening," I said.

"Please call me Layth. Good night, Nalya," he smiled at me.

I went into the pack house. Layth, I said his name silently. Why was he so interested in me?

"Why do you smell like another Alpha?" A voice boomed from the living room as I entered. I realized there were people there; Nate, Kendrick, Tonia, and two other women.

I didn't answer Rhaegar, my eyes stuck on Tonia, and my blood boiled in anger. I was shocked at my fury for her. I just hated seeing that woman especially anywhere near my mate! Everyone in the room noticed and stared at me in surprise. I looked away only to see Rhaegar.

"You were saying?" I asked.

"Why do you smell like another Alpha?!" he all but growled at me.

"On my way from work, I met Layth, and he walked me here," I told him truthfully.

"Layth?" he scoffed, " Layth," he repeated.

"Did you know he was in the pack, Rhaegar?" Nate asked.

"No,"

"His mother is unwell, so we'll be seeing him often," Kendrick said. Prince Rhaegar growled, unhappy about that information.

"Excuse me, Prince Rhaegar," I bowed and quickly left just as I heard a bang against the wall.

'Don't look back, my wolf said. I opened my bedroom door and went to the drawer where I kept my purse.

I counted the money that was in there, and it was 1,350. I will soon leave, find a job, and live far from the wolves and their packs.

I'll be alright. I told myself softly. I'll be fine, I repeated.

'We'll be fine,' my wolf added, and I believed her words.
