Chapter 988: Wang Ma’s Concern
Chapter 988: Wang Ma’s Concern
Yun Qiqi wasn’t used to other people’s proximity. Her first reaction was to dodge, but thinking of something, she stayed put, allowing this unfamiliar woman to hug her.
The sound of Wang Ma’s sobbing reached her ears, and she couldn’t help feeling a bit at a loss and bewildered.
If it were someone else, she could easily punch them away, but faced with a gentle woman, she truly didn’t know what to do.
Especially since she could feel that the other had no ill intention whatsoever.
She glanced at Yan Yan, but the man merely gave her a slight smile.
Lazily, he spoke, "This is Wang Ma, who used to take care of you."
Yun Qiqi was stunned for a moment, and so she stayed still.
After a while, she tentatively tried to comfort her, "Are, are you okay?"
Wang Ma continued crying, evidently still not over the emotion.
The two years of waiting and hoping all culminated in this day.
She worried countless days and nights, always wondering if Yun Qiluo was doing well.
Seeing her now felt like a dream.
Housekeeper Chen was a bit more rational and just had teary eyes as he looked at Yun Qiqi for quite a while.
He soon realized that the current Miss Yun seemed not to recognize them.
Not exactly distant, but her eyes showed confusion. If she recognized them, she wouldn’t be like this.
He glanced at Yan Yan, who didn’t stop the interaction, cleared his throat, and softly said, "Wang Ma, that’s enough. Miss Yun’s clothes are getting wrinkled from your grip."
Only then did Wang Ma snap out of it, quickly releasing Yun Qiqi and taking out a handkerchief to wipe her tears, still unable to take her eyes off her.
"Miss, I lost my composure. Are you alright?"
Yun Qiqi felt a bit of a sting in her heart and gently shook her head, "I’m fine."
To Wang Ma, it felt like a dream, as she stared at her for a long time before repeatedly asking about her well-being.
She felt her hands were cold and even tried to get Yan Yan’s consent to turn on the heater at home.
Housekeeper Chen: "...it’s spring now."
Yun Qiqi thought she could leave after delivering the documents, but after arriving, Yan Yan hadn’t even asked about them, simply allowing her to sit on the sofa, being pulled by Wang Ma and asked all sorts of questions.
For the first time, Yun Qiqi experienced the care of an elder. Once she got over the initial bewilderment, she found herself with an indescribable feeling in her heart.
Her gaze softened a bit.
She answered honestly whatever Wang Ma asked.
This elderly lady gave her a familiar and close feeling, making it impossible for her to remain indifferent.
When Wang Ma learned that she had regained her memory but no longer remembered them, her eyes turned red again.
Miss Yun must have suffered so much these past two years without anyone knowing!
Wiping her tears, she looked at Yun Qiqi, still petite and now much paler, "Miss, you’ve gotten thinner. Is there anything you’d like to eat? Wang Ma will tell the kitchen to make it for you."
Yun Qiqi, sitting on the sofa, felt tempted but a bit embarrassed, "Is it okay?"
She knew everything in Yan Yan’s house was delicious! That much was clear from the pastries and cakes he brought!
"Of course!"
Wang Ma immediately got up and instructed the kitchen to prepare something for her.
It wasn’t time for dinner yet, but preparing some afternoon tea was no problem. When Yun Qiluo was here, the villa almost always had afternoon tea prepared daily.
After Wang Ma left, Yun Qiqi finally breathed a little easier. She still hadn’t learned how to interact with elders.
Nor had she learned how to handle such meticulous care and enthusiasm.
