"What should we do?" Ye Ruxue asked anxiously. "If the Fang family finds a clue, that boy is as good as dead."

"And our Ye Family will be implicated too!"

"No!" Madam Ye shook her head adamantly. "Do you really think the Fang family would believe we have nothing to do with Lin Xuan? If you tell them, the Ye Family will be the one to suffer in the end. We absolutely cannot say a word about this."

"But what if the Fang family finds out on their own?"

"That’s simple," Madam Ye replied. "In a few more days, that boy will have completely expelled the poison from your father. Once that’s done, we’ll just find an excuse to drive him away. As long as he’s not in the Ye Family residence, we’ll be safe."

Ye Ruxue breathed a sigh of relief. That’s right. All we have to do is drive that boy away.

Today was the final day of the detoxification process. Madam Ye and the others waited nervously outside the door. Inside the room, Lin Xuan once again mobilized the Anomalous Fire, channeling it into Clan Leader Ye’s body.

The Snake King emerged and withdrew all the icy aura from Clan Leader Ye’s body, returning him to his normal state.

Lin Xuan opened the door. "It’s done."

Madam Ye rushed in. "My dear husband, how are you?"

Clan Leader Ye slowly opened his eyes. His face was pale and he looked incredibly weak, but he was awake.

"My dear husband, you’re awake! This is wonderful!" Madam Ye was so overcome with emotion that she began to cry.

Ye Ruxue and Ye Qingwu also felt a wave of relief. Father’s finally awake. This is great!

"Junior Brother Lin, thank you so much for this," Ye Qingwu said, her face full of gratitude.

"Who saved me?" Clan Leader Ye asked weakly.

"It was this gentleman, Young Master Lin," Madam Ye explained. "He is Qingwu’s junior brother."

"Thank you for saving me, Young Master Lin." Clan Leader Ye tried to push himself up to offer his thanks.

Lin Xuan quickly supported him. "Clan Leader Ye, please don’t trouble yourself. You must rest. Although the poison has been removed, it ran deep. Your meridians were injured, so you must focus on a proper recovery."

"Thank you, thank you." Clan Leader Ye expressed his gratitude again and again. "My dear," he said to his wife, "you must thank Young Master Lin properly. Whatever he requests, you must agree to it."

"Why don’t we assign the task of reclaiming the Spirit Vein to Lin Xuan?"

"Lin Xuan?" Madam Ye shook her head frantically. "His cultivation is so low. How could he possibly succeed?"

"If he fails," Ye Ruxue explained, "we can use it as the perfect opportunity to drive him away. We can make him leave the Ye Family and send him directly off Dragon Island! As long as Lin Xuan stays on Dragon Island, it’s dangerous. The Fang family will find him sooner or later! Once they find out Lin Xuan killed Fang Fan, our Ye Family will be implicated. Our Ye Family will only be truly safe once Lin Xuan has left Dragon Island."

Madam Ye’s eyes lit up. That’s a brilliant idea. We’ll just have Lin Xuan go and reclaim the Spirit Vein.
