Chapter 454: Who’s Fear?
Chapter 454: Who’s Fear?
In that moment Ash moved as he wasted no more time.
He appeared directly in front of Fear and punched out immediately, layering his attack with 300 Layers.
The strike was fast, clean, and carried overwhelming force — a golden fist wreathed in compressed divinity that could shatter mountains and concepts alike.
However, in the face of such an attack... Fear scoffed.
When the punch connected, there was no resounding explosion or impact...
No, the punch passed completely through him, as if he weren’t physical at all.
"Merely three hundred Layers?" Fear said, voice dripping with disdain as his many-eyed form reformed a few steps away.
"That’s nowhere near enough power to even scratch me."
In that same moment, he raised one hand as he activated one of his talents.
|Nightmare Architect (Ruler)|
HUMMMMMM!!!!!!
GRRRRR!!!!
ROARRRRR!!!!!!
A wave of mana swept through the endless hallway, and from countless doors along the corridor, massive Nightmare Creatures began to pour out.
Each stood a rank above the Tenth Champion — towering, horrifying beings born of pure conceptual dread.
One was a massive serpent, its scales made of hundreds of screaming human faces, its body oozing liquid fear.
Another was a towering figure of writhing shadows and shattered mirrors, each fragment reflecting the viewer’s deepest failure. A third took the form of a swarm of eyes with tattered flesh for wings, blinking in eerie unison as they released a psychic scream.
More and more emerged, each more terrifying than the last, their very presence enough to shatter weaker minds.
As they came forth Fear laughed, the sound echoing down the infinite hallway.
"Now... rip this foolish one apart!" He said as his formed dissolved within the walls of the Halls itself.
Even though Ash was shrouded in mystery, he knew his primary goal wasn’t to kill him or reveal all his cards.
It was to uncover the truth behind the enigma of Ash.
"Come on... show me what you’re hiding..." He muttered as Ash began to move again.
----
Currently Ash was technically at a weaker rank than these horrors lunging at him, but did that truly matter?
Especially with the way Ash created his power system, all these things were nothing more than playthings.
After copying the existence level of Luna, he and along with all his close ones were now Tier 28 Ancient Gods, which effectively made them sixteenth dimensional beings.
Ash wasn’t just here to kill—if that were the case, he would’ve finished long ago.
Instead, he was busy teaching his son a lesson: that nothing in this world, or any other, could put fear in him.
Not even fear itself.
"Are you done love?" He asked aloud as he continued to dodge the nightmares.
Elysia’s voice chimed in his mind, light and teasing.
’Master, everything is ready.... Go ahead and have your fun.’
Hearing those words Ash smiled, still weaving effortlessly between the lunging horrors.
One of the nightmare serpents with screaming faces for scales snapped at his head ... as he ducked under it with casual grace.
A swarm of winged eyes tried to blind him with psychic screams... but still he slipped through them like smoke.
The more they attacked, the more he simply evaded... and the more Fear watched on with deepening confusion.
This was because Ash wasn’t simply dodging, it was almost like he was reading or seeing things before they happened.
Which wouldn’t be wrong to assume, but it wouldn’t be entirely correct either. Each attack these nightmares threw, Ash simply watched to see how many layers they will stack up to.
And it seemed like the peak was, only 450 for beings at the seventeenth dimensional existence.
Once seeing this he finally decided to make his move, through this time he hadn’t used a single power or ability.
Only the pure essence of Unus battling... which was absolute perfection.
|Non-existent Blink|
With a single blink, he struck only at things that didn’t exist.
SHK!
SHK!
SHK!
In that single heartbeat, wounds and devastation manifested upon the nightmares from assaults that, in truth, had never occurred.
Instantly, deep lacerations split open across their forms, while limbs that had not been touched fractured violently. Their internal organs ruptured without any discernible cause, leaving no visible trace of the force that had undone them.
And the power was so overwhelming... The nightmares had no opportunity to cry out.
One after another, they erupted in bursts of dark essence and wailing shadows, their shapes unraveling into emptiness as the unreal damage consumed them entirely.
The hallway of the Personal Realm of Pure Fear suddenly rang with the echoes of shattering nightmares and fading cries.
Ash stood calmly in the center, a smile still on his face, completely unharmed.
He glanced at Fear, who was now watching him with a mix of shock and mounting rage, with his countless eyes blinking in rapid succession.
However, everything so far had nothing to do with what Ash had been waiting for Elysia to finish—not at all.
Instead, it was something about his race. For some time now, the Unus had already attained the final component for completion.
In fact, he’d long possessed the blueprint for that final step. If one recalled correctly, this race was meant to be the one before and above all others.
But there was something else that made it even more absurd.
It was the very bridge between existence and nonexistence—something that should be impossible no matter how you looked at it.
Back in the Null Firmament, Ash had long since copied the blueprint of the Curators and Reapers, but it was still just a blueprint.
And as always, he would make it infinitely better.
HUMMMMMMM!!!!!
As he locked eyes with Fear he smiled as he felt the newest and final piece to the Unus race finally settled.
And this race was not just important because of the connection to nonexistence...
Much like the other half that embodied all ideas of perfection, this side it embodied all the shadows of those very same ideas.
Anything dark... inverted, or things that ’never was, anything born from absence, negation, and primordial fear.
This did not make the Unus inherently good or bad, but it truly solidified them as the one sole anchor of existence and nonexistence.
As the transformation ceased, Ash had gained a few new features, but in this moment... instead of basking in the change...
He became Fear... not the spirit of fear, not some conceptual embodiment of it.
But the most primal aspect that lived directly in the mind of all beings.
"I told you..." He said as his form began to fade, "that I was going to fuck you up..."
The moment he reappeared.....
BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!
