Taming Mr. Black

Thirty Seven

Thirty Seven

Killian's POV

The last person I expected to see outside my company was this guy Naomi claimed is her ex. John, Jude, whatever the hell his name is. As I walked towards the exit, I couldn't help but glare at this asshole leaning against his Maserati as he talked to my girl. Without doubts, he's a man with his parents still in control of his life.

A child.

I didn't care what they were talking about, but I just didn't want him here. And then he opened his mouth and started spilling shit. His body language was obvious. He wanted her back. He wanted her to be his after he kicked her out of his life for his own obvious reasons.

I was jealous and I wasn't ashamed to admit it. I didn't care. I wasn't planning on leaning back while I watched other men try to take what was mine. What I cared so much about.

"I uh…" He shoved his hands inside his black suit pants as he tried to look nice. "I was driving by and I decided to stop by. Bianca told me you worked here and I decided I should drop by and see you. It's been a long time since we last saw each other. Can I give you a ride?" Her ex said, using that as an opportunity to give her a ride.

Who even does that? Drop by your ex's place of work for the first day and try to give her a ride.

This man was obviously nothing like me. He was still a man under his parents' wings and bank account.

I didn't know when I voiced out. "No. She doesn't want to ride with you."

I stood by my girl and glared at her ex. He wasn't looking bad, she obviously had good taste in men. He was tall, not taller than me though, but he was tall. He had dark hair, he dressed impressively, and I must admit he's got a great stance.

He was surprised to see me and I could see he was frightened by me. I was far bigger than him. I didn't want to talk about money and power.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked Naomi's ex as I gave him a once-over.

I noticed he tried to stand taller as if he was trying to pass a message to me he wasn't afraid of me.

Of course, he was.

"Seeing Naomi." He spat out.

"She doesn't want to see you." I laid my claim. "Get in the car, babe." The mention of babe seemed to register in Naomi's ex's head as he was surprised.

He didn't bother to hide his baffle.

"Babe?" He voiced out, looking at Naomi before staring at me.

Maybe I didn't have to. Maybe it was a dick move coming out and telling this guy in front of me who Naomi belonged to, but I wanted him to know she wasn't available or in the market. She was mine and heavens knew I wasn't ready to compete with any man for her, her ex included.

Naomi was surprised and she looked as if she wanted to argue. I might come off as possessive and annoying to her right now, but I didn't care. She's made me fall in love with her, and I've fallen helplessly and hopelessly.

So she shouldn't blame me if I'm being possessive when other men look at her.

Naomi gave her ex a nod and slipped into the back seat of my car. I glared at her ex, and he didn't try to hide his anger towards me. Shooting him a death glare, I joined Naomi in the backseat of my car and Alvin shut the door.

Alvin climbed into the driver's seat and started the car. My mind was everywhere. My company, my business, and a psycho woman who may or may not be carrying my child. God forbid I'm ready to father a child with a woman I'm not In love with. She could probably even be one of my one nightstands.

And it annoyed me so badly that I couldn't remember having sex with any woman without protection. I can't be that careless. I knew what these women were capable of. They're desperate to have my baby because of child support, money, influence, and all that shit.

I always made sure I used a condom and disposed of it myself. Naomi happens to be the only woman I've ever had sex with without a condom. She was different.

"Where to, sir?" Alvin asked.

"Just drive."

Throughout the quiet ride, Naomi opened her mouth to say something but she shut it after, willing herself not to bother trying to explain. My hand itches for me to grab her and pull her to me and kiss her. I wanted to show her I won't let any man take her away from me. I wanted to show her how madly she'd made me fall in love with her and how much I cared about her.

But I restrained myself.

After driving for a few minutes, I made my driver stop and ask him to take a walk. Naomi opened her mouth to speak but I silenced her with my lips, kissing her and claiming her over and over again. My hands were everywhere. On her waist, on her hips, and on her thighs. She moaned into my mouth as I whispered my claim over her.

Once we finally pulled apart and stopped kissing, Naomi stared at me with wide eyes and red plump lips. She takes a deep breath and smiles.

"Why was he here?" I finally asked her.

"Checking on me."

I know that already.

"Why?"

Naomi sighs. My hand is still on her thighs and our eyes are still locked. She looks away, shifting her gaze elsewhere. She finally looks at me, with her hands on my cheek. She gives me a warm smile.

"I promise you, Killian, George and I are not together."

So the asshole's name is George? Not surprised. He looks like a George.

"We're friends and he's smart enough to know I've moved on and we're never getting back together."

"Did you love him?" My question takes her by surprise.

"No. He was great, but he never did get to sweep me off my feet." She says.

"So you don't love him?" I'm just trying to be sure.

She giggles and runs her hand through my hair before leaning closer to peck my lips. She whispers against my lips as she locks eyes with mine.

"I'm not In love with him. I was never in love with him, and we're just friends. Trust me."

I do trust her, I just don't trust that John, George, whatever her ex’s name is.

I nod. I take my hand from her thigh and sit back properly.

"What happened between you two?" I ask.

"We didn't fight or argue or anything. I thought I deserved better, and I was right. His parents didn't like me. They thought I wasn't good enough for their only son. They wanted a woman with class, with an influential last name and background. I didn't have any of those…"

Damn, his parents are dicks. How could they do that to her? Naomi might not come from a family with billions and connections, she's what every man would kill for. Beautiful, intelligent, hard-working, independent, optimistic, nice, strong. I can go on naming every beautiful quality about Naomi.

"He couldn't stand up for me. And then there were times his parents would make him go out with beautiful, classy women. It was just so toxic. I had to leave. It wasn't working and he knew that. But then he couldn't get the idea we're never getting back. We came to terms to be friends."

A fucking coward. I could smell his cowardice from afar before I even approached the douchebag.

"Did you become friends with him because you were sorry for him?"

Naomi turns to look at me and smiles.

"No. George isn't that bad. We're just friends and I'm going to say it again, I'm never getting back with him."

I nod.

"Thanks for telling me all this."

"You're welcome."

"What are you doing tonight? I still want you to spend the night at my place." I say. I'm starting to sound demanding, I just can't help myself.

"I'm supposed to be having dinner with my mom tonight. The entire family I guess."

I want her by my side tonight and I don't want to let her go. The reason is simple: since I met her and spent the night with her in my bed, I just dread going back to my house and spending the night alone in my bed. Now I'm starting to believe what my mom told me, that I was alone before Naomi came into my life. She's probably right I guess because I badly want Naomi back in my bed again. We don't have to have sex or do anything, I just want her by my side, cuddled next to me, preferably naked.

And two, there's still this psycho bitch out there who's threatening to hurt Naomi for no fucking reason. The strange thing is this woman doesn't want money. She doesn't want anything from me. I think she just wants to ruin my life and my company.

Earlier, when Raymond brought Alvin to my office, I asked him if he saw who brought my mail. He said it was the delivery man. I already sent a message to the delivery company asking them about the address of this anonymous person who sent me that letter. By Monday, I'm expecting a positive reply.

"Are you okay? You've been acting differently." She says.

"I'm fine," I say. I can't just tell her some girl is claiming I've gotten her pregnant.

It's gonna be a disaster. Whether it's true or not, it's going to ruin my relationship. Naomi might never look at me the way she looks at me now. I can't risk letting her go. That's why I've got to find this fucking bitch and sort this shit out once and for all. For now, I need my head straight on for my brother's bachelor's party tomorrow.

"Can I come with you?"

"What?" She's surprised as she asks.

Yeah, I'm also surprised at my question. I can't believe I'm offering to meet Naomi's family. My insides should be burning and my conscience yelling I shouldn't dare, but I wanna be where she is, even if that means having dinner with her Hispanic mother, who may or may not like me. I can handle everything, including Naomi's family.

After all, we're together, right?

"Can I come with you to dinner with your family?" I ask her again.

Naomi smiles and shakes her head.

"I don't think that's a good idea. My mom's not like your mom. She's…" Naomi shakes her head a big no.

"Are you afraid to introduce your boyfriend to your family?" I tease her with a smirk.

"I can't believe you'll think of that. You know I'm not afraid. I don't think you're ready."

"How would you know that?" I ask.

She sighs and looks anywhere else but me as she fiddles with her fingers like a child. I chuckle and hold her hands with one hand.

"You don't want me there?"

"What? No, it's not that. I want you there. Just don't have your hopes high. My younger sister basically fangirls over you whenever she gets the chance."

I chuckle. "Really?"

Naomi rolls her eyes. "Yeah. She's probably gonna die standing for a second when she sees you in real life finally. It's annoying."

"Are you jealous?"

Naomi glares at me playfully.

"Fine, we're gonna go have dinner with my family."

"Great. And you're still gonna spend the night, right?"

Naomi looks at me with a twinkle in her eyes.

"I will try to keep my hands to myself," I promise her.

Naomi chuckles and nods.

"I gotta ask. What's your dad like? And your brother? I've only met your mom. And the internet isn't saying much about your dad." She asks.

I go quiet, and my hand holding her hands tenses around hers. She notices my tense hand and my reluctance.

"I'm sorry. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I squeeze her hand gently and smile.

"It's not that." I push her strands behind her ear and twirl the end of the strand around my finger.

"Well, you might like my brother. He already likes you and he hasn't even met you yet. He's great, probably better than me. My dad, there's really not much to talk about. He was a great man, but also an asshole. He was a drunkard and would hit us, me, especially, and even my mom when we were young. He was an abusive cunt."

Her eyes widen like saucers when I tell her my dad used to hit me. This time, she's the one holding my hand and squeezing it, trying to reassure me she's got me.

"We grew up and we fought back. He was powerless, and we won't let him hit our mom. He walked out of our lives when I was fifteen. He never came back. A few months later, we heard he was dead. Got into a club fight and was stabbed right in the gut. He didn't make it." I say and look away, reminiscing the news as if it was yesterday.

I can still remember the look on Mom's face and how she broke down. The man might be an asshole, but my mom loved him. So much, it was just annoying. Especially when he hits her and we try to fight back and she tries to stop us, telling us he's not that bad, that he was just depressed because he lost his job.

What a sick excuse.

Before he became abusive, he wasn't that bad. But I remembered before he started hitting her fully, he first started with slaps, then he would apologize and blame it on my mother. Claiming she made him hit her by not keeping her mouth shut and talking back at him.

He was a sick fuck.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I shouldn't have asked that if I knew."

"You didn't know. And not a lot of people know about that. You shouldn't tell anyone." I smile at her.

"I won't. And thank you for telling me."

Naomi kisses my lips and tries to pull away, I don't let her. I cup her cheek with one hand and bring her lips back to mine as I kiss her. She kisses back, hands already trailing on my stomach through the material of my dress shirt.

Right now I feel like we should skip dinner with her family and go straight to my place while I tear out her clothes and bury my cock inside her.

Fuck, I would really like that. Also, I want to meet her family. Whatever this is that I'm doing with Naomi, it's fucking serious and I'm planning on spending my entire life with her. I want to be with her, every day, night, and year. I want to spend each Christmas with her, including New Year's and even spend time with her on her birthdays. Every fucking year. I want her by my side. Words can't describe how much I want her and how badly I've fallen for her.

First things first, I need to find this strange Lily woman and sort her out. If she's truly pregnant for me, I really don't know what to do. I want Naomi to carry my babies, maybe in the future, not some nameless chick from one of my countless one-night stands.

We stop kissing and I trail my thumb on Naomi's swollen, red bottom lips.

"You're beautiful."

"Thank you."

"On Friday next week is Keith's rehearsal dinner, I want you there with me."

"Are you sure about that?"

"I should probably tell you he's having his wedding party in Miami. You're flying with me. I want you there, by my side." Naomi's taken by surprise as she stares at me with wide eyes.

"Please."

"What about work? Raymond's going, right?"

"Yeah, he's a groomsman. And don't worry about work, I'll sort it out. Just say yes."

Naomi smiles and pecks my lips before saying. "Yes."

"Thank you."

I call Alvin back and he slips inside the driver's seat of my car. Alvin has been my private driver for over six years now. The guy is 36 years old and I see him more as a family than my driver. I always give him time off whenever he asks or when he doesn't even ask. He deserves it.

Naomi gives him her mom's address and Alvin starts the car as he reverses and speeds down the road. The time is already 8 pm when Alvin pulls the car to a stop outside a small detached house which I immediately assume is Naomi's mom's house. It's not that big, but it's okay and can definitely accommodate a family. It looks better than I imagined. There's a small fence around the compound and a black Lexus is parked outside in the driveway.

Naomi buzzes her way in and the gate opens. Alvin drives down the driveway. The outside is a little small and it can't take up to three cars. Alvin manages to park my car without causing much fuss.

"Here we are." Naomi is nervous and she's trying so hard to hide it.

I smile and hold her hand.

"It's okay. We're just having dinner with your family."

"Right. Sure."

"Calm down and stop being nervous."

"I'm gonna try."

I peck her cheek and Alvin gets out of the car and opens the back door for me. I step out of the car and hold my hand out for Naomi to take it.

As we walk up the front porch, I wonder if I should have stopped by my house to change. If the suit isn't even too much. Maybe I should have opted for a pair of jeans and a jacket. I don't want her mom to think I'm trying to impress her. Naomi is also dressed in her work clothes so she's gonna understand we're just getting out of the office.

Naomi rings the doorbell and we wait for someone to open it. We hear chatter and giggles behind the door before the door springs open and a girl is standing in front of us. She's young, probably fifteen or sixteen and I assume she's Naomi's younger sister. She's dressed in a big t-shirt and jean shorts and her brown hair like Naomi's is tied in a ponytail atop her head.

Her gaze lands on me, wide eyes like saucers, mouth wide open. She's shocked to see me? Okay, I don't expect that.

I give her a small smile.

"Hey, Rach." Naomi greets her.

"Who's at the door, Rachel?" Someone calls from inside the house.

"Oh, my God, I'm having a panic attack. This should be a dream!" Rachel screams and turns around as she runs into the house screaming incoherent words.

Naomi turns to look at me. "I told you."

Right.

She leads me into her mother's house and I follow suit.
