Chapter 200 - 139: External Expansion and New Member Candidate_2
Chapter 200 - 139: External Expansion and New Member Candidate_2
Sure enough, Sunan wasn’t bothered by the little trick of the Red Widow and was instead lost in thought.
"Two small metal ore veins, better than nothing."
"It’s a pity they’re not silver ore veins."
Sunan felt a bit regretful.
Among the four ore veins nearing depletion, one happened to be a silver ore vein.
This means that until a new silver ore vein is found, the accumulation speed of mithril will significantly slow down.
"I wonder if once the other silver ore vein is fully mined, it will be enough to produce a Secret Puppet?"
"Best to find new ore veins."
Sunan had made up his mind and looked up to instruct the two women:
"Increase the manpower, expand the exploration range, and be sure to find more ore veins."
Carolina and the Red Widow felt a jolt in their hearts.
The underground world is not like the surface; dangers lurk everywhere, and no one knows what dangers might be hidden in the darkness, or which cave might be occupied by a powerful beast or some group.
In the past, Ghost Lake, Matu, and Auson had attempted to expand their territory, but the losses were too heavy, and they had to give up.
If they were to broaden the exploration, it might come with similar risks.
Nonetheless, Carolina and the Red Widow didn’t hesitate and agreed immediately.
Not daring to defy Sunan’s orders was part of the reason, but they also had confidence in the Golem Legion.
Now, Sunan’s forces far surpassed any of Ghost Lake, Matu, or Auson individually, even collectively stronger, qualifying them to expand outward.
In fact, even if Sunan didn’t propose it now, in a few years, the Red Widow and Carolina would have suggested it themselves.
"Master, rest assured, I’ll make sure it’s beautifully done!" Carolina said with firm determination.
The Red Widow, realizing she was a step behind, cursed inwardly and quickly pledged her loyalty.
"I definitely won’t disappoint the master!"
...
In the deep night, moonlight streamed through the window, laying a thin white veil over the small house.
Sunan opened his eyes and scanned the long table, realizing that only six people attended tonight.
Besides him, there were the regular attendees: Night Owl, Red Heart, Rose, Scepter, and Remains.
Black Forest did not join this gathering.
The Traveler was, as usual, absent.
Seeing the empty seat of the Traveler, Sunan felt a slight regret.
Honestly, he did want to meet the Traveler, possibly trading underground world intelligence with him.
After a few brief pleasantries, the gathering moved into the trading phase.
Due to the scarcity of resources, not everyone could bring high-value trade items to each meeting; more often, it was just ordinary materials.
Except for Sunan.
In recent trades, Sunan no longer merely offered magic stones to purchase others’ goods but also brought out Tier One potions and Alchemy Level magic items for trade.
After all, constantly trading only with magic stones seemed monopolistic and could cause dissatisfaction among others.
A few Tier One potions and Alchemy Level magic items were no big deal to him.
The warehouse at Base No. 1 was still stocked with plenty.
After a few trades, Sunan’s items had become the most sought-after at the gatherings.
This time, Sunan still focused his trade on various Wizard’s Scriptures, rare materials, and soul crystals.
However, he had already collected over 1,300 Wizard’s Scriptures, and the people at Greenhouse House could hardly provide any scripture he didn’t already have.
Thus, acquisitions in this area had drastically reduced recently.
After a trade, Sunan acquired only a few rare materials; the ten mini soul crystals he obtained from Remains were the most valuable.
Sunan had previously tried probing Remains to buy the technique for making soul crystals from him.
But Remains refused outright.
The difference between occasionally eating one’s fill and being full every meal was clear to him.
Remains’ biggest advantage in Greenhouse House’s trade was soul crystals. If he sold the corresponding technology to Sunan, with Sunan’s formidable resources and power exposed earlier, he might bring a large number of soul crystals to the next gathering.
By then, he would not only lose Sunan as a prime trading partner but also his advantage in the gathering trades.
Anyone with a bit of sense knew what to do.
Sunan had expected this, so he wasn’t disappointed by the refusal.
If it were him, he wouldn’t trade important technology either.
After the trade, Night Owl raised a hand to signal everyone to wait a moment.
"I need to mention something to everyone."
"I found a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice. Upon a preliminary check, the conditions seem to align with the purpose of Greenhouse House. I intend to invite him to join and want to hear your opinions."
The group was slightly taken aback.
Scepter chuckled, "It’s strange, usually it takes seven or eight, even ten years to find a new member candidate; how come it’s so frequent lately?"
He glanced at Sunan as he said this.
Given that Sunan had only joined Greenhouse House about four years prior, discovering another new member so soon was indeed surprising.
After all, Level 3 Wizard Apprentices weren’t cabbages you’d find on street corners.
These individuals were generally hidden behind the clout of major factions and were not easy to encounter.
Night Owl shrugged and said, "I was just lucky. While investigating someone else, I inadvertently discovered his existence."
Red Heart asked, "What’s the other party’s situation?"
Night Owl proceeded slowly, "The usual rules, I can’t disclose specific details, can only provide general information."
"In terms of strength, he recently escaped Saulo’s grasp, which should be proof enough of his capability."
This statement made everyone present start with interest.
"To have escaped Saulo, it seems the new member’s strength is not to be underestimated," Scepter said, deep in thought.
The others nodded in agreement.
Sunan raised an eyebrow in surprise and used a Communication Skill to ask Rose, "Who’s Saulo? Based on others’ reactions, is he a major power?"
Rose gave Sunan a sidelong glance and used Communication Skill to respond, "Saulo is the founder of the Eternal Life Association. Though I haven’t met him, I’ve heard he’s formidable, having solo-killed a Tier Four Legendary Exotic Beast once."
Tier Four Legendary Exotic Beast!
Sunan’s eyes sharpened.
That power indeed isn’t trivial!
It would rank among the top few within Level 3 Wizard Apprentices.
Surprising that the Eternal Life Association has such a strong figure.
Operating so aggressively yet still at large on the Starlight Continent for years, the Eternal Life Association certainly has some prowess.
"To have retreated safely from Saulo, that person must be at least at Tier Three Legendary level." Red Heart mused.
"Strength isn’t an issue." Rose nodded slightly.
Greenhouse House only invites Level 3 Wizard Apprentices but not all are eligible to join; there are strict power requirements too.
Back then, if Sunan hadn’t taken out Herb and demonstrated remarkable power, Night Owl wouldn’t have invited him to Greenhouse House.
Seeing no objection, Night Owl continued, "Regarding resources, he comes from some royal family with many valuable items in hand, so there’s no need to worry about not having things to trade."
"No need to elaborate on conduct, you all should understand."
Generally, Wizard Apprentices from royal or noble backgrounds act according to rules and don’t cause catastrophes or major fatal incidents lightly.
They have their own concerns, after all.
This kind of behavior fits well with Greenhouse House.
"Now let’s proceed to vote." Night Owl surveyed the group, "As per the rules, if two-thirds of the vote is in favor, the proposal will be approved."
Scepter responded immediately, "I have no issue."
"I agree," said Red Heart.
Rose and Remains also quickly noted no objections.
Sunan, naturally, wouldn’t oppose.
Having another trading partner is a good thing.
"Alright, six votes in favor, the proposal is passed."
Night Owl made the decision.
Though Black Forest and the Traveler weren’t present, six votes surpassed the required two-thirds majority, eliminating the need for their input.
"Next, I’ll reach out and extend the invitation to him. You all can await good news from me."
