"You’re right. This dish was made for me by my father-in-law back then! I thought I’d make it for my future son-in-law one day! Unfortunately, my daughter’s not getting any younger, and there’s still no sign of a son-in-law!" Chief Qiu chuckled, taking off his apron and rubbing his hands before sitting down.

Ji Chuan wasn’t familiar with Chief Qiu’s daughter and took his words as a mere reflection, not taking it to heart: "Chief, your appearance is outstanding! Your daughter’s looks must be very impressive too! So, ordinary people probably aren’t a match for your daughter."

"You’re half right." Chief Qiu chuckled, "She is indeed good-looking! But all these years, she hasn’t married; she’s somewhat resenting me! Her mother passed away early, and I’ve held her dear, spoiling her, reluctant to let her marry! Now, she’s old enough but can’t find a suitable match! This is my fault, my fault!"

"Yes, I think so too." Chief Qiu nodded, smiling at Ji Chuan, "She’s at home, and once she comes out of the kitchen, I’ll introduce you two."

"Alright!" Ji Chuan agreed.

Qiu Xinyi had prepared dinner and carefully carried the dish out of the kitchen, "Here comes the dish! Delicious sweet and sour pork!"

The moment she saw Ji Chuan, her eyes lit up, "Ji Chuan! Why is it you?"

"Qiu Xinyi!" Ji Chuan accurately called her name this time, looking slightly surprised at Qiu Xinyi, "You’re Chief Qiu’s daughter?"

"That’s right!" Qiu Xinyi smiled at him, "Looks like you finally remember me this time!"

"You know each other?" Chief Qiu asked with a smile.

"Of course!" Qiu Xinyi put the aromatic dishes on the table, casually pulling a chair to sit beside Ji Chuan, "We’ve met several times! Didn’t expect to meet each other here today, isn’t this fate?"
