Chapter 2383 - 2276: Made Only for the Future Son-in-Law

Ji Chuan changed into a new set of clothes and walked out of the hospital, just preparing to take a taxi to Chief Qiu’s house, when unexpectedly, a military vehicle stopped right in front of him.

"Are you Director Ji? I’m Chief Qiu’s guard. He asked me to pick you up!"

"Thank you very much." Ji Chuan opened the car door and got in.

He hadn’t expected to receive such high treatment.

Chief Qiu’s house was a small, two-story white building, with a small yard in front filled with blooming roses, which emitted a fragrant aroma in the evening.

Led by the guard, Ji Chuan entered the house, immediately captivated by a rich, meaty aroma.

"Braised pork!" Ji Chuan exclaimed without thinking.

Chief Qiu came out of the kitchen, carrying a platter of braised pork, placing it on the dining table. "Ji Chuan! Come, taste my cooking. I personally cooked because I knew you were coming tonight."

"I’m truly... honored and flattered! To be able to eat a meal cooked by the chief himself, it must be a blessing from my past life!" Ji Chuan replied politely.

"You’re right. This dish was made for me by my father-in-law back then! I thought I’d make it for my future son-in-law one day! Unfortunately, my daughter’s not getting any younger, and there’s still no sign of a son-in-law!" Chief Qiu chuckled, taking off his apron and rubbing his hands before sitting down.

Ji Chuan wasn’t familiar with Chief Qiu’s daughter and took his words as a mere reflection, not taking it to heart: "Chief, your appearance is outstanding! Your daughter’s looks must be very impressive too! So, ordinary people probably aren’t a match for your daughter."

"You’re half right." Chief Qiu chuckled, "She is indeed good-looking! But all these years, she hasn’t married; she’s somewhat resenting me! Her mother passed away early, and I’ve held her dear, spoiling her, reluctant to let her marry! Now, she’s old enough but can’t find a suitable match! This is my fault, my fault!"

Pity the hearts of parents under heaven.

Chief Qiu took all the blame for his daughter’s shortcomings upon himself.

"Since you know that, it’s not too late to let go now!" Ji Chuan responded casually to the conversation.

"Yes, I think so too." Chief Qiu nodded, smiling at Ji Chuan, "She’s at home, and once she comes out of the kitchen, I’ll introduce you two."

"Alright!" Ji Chuan agreed.

Qiu Xinyi had prepared dinner and carefully carried the dish out of the kitchen, "Here comes the dish! Delicious sweet and sour pork!"

The moment she saw Ji Chuan, her eyes lit up, "Ji Chuan! Why is it you?"

"Qiu Xinyi!" Ji Chuan accurately called her name this time, looking slightly surprised at Qiu Xinyi, "You’re Chief Qiu’s daughter?"

"That’s right!" Qiu Xinyi smiled at him, "Looks like you finally remember me this time!"

"You know each other?" Chief Qiu asked with a smile.

"Of course!" Qiu Xinyi put the aromatic dishes on the table, casually pulling a chair to sit beside Ji Chuan, "We’ve met several times! Didn’t expect to meet each other here today, isn’t this fate?"

"Perhaps!" Watching Qiu Xinyi dressed up carefully, with a sparkle in her eyes, Ji Chuan almost certain of Chief Qiu’s intentions at that moment.

It’s not about seeing a doctor, but about introducing him to his daughter, right?
