Chapter 2377 - 2270: Nightmare
"I accidentally fell and ended up scratching my leg! So it’s a bit hard to walk." Yan Huan said.
"How did you get back?" Feng Yuzhi pressed.
"Ji Chuan brought me back?"
"Really?" Feng Yuzhi couldn’t hide her smile, "Ji Chuan is such a sensible kid; I really think you should consider Ji Chuan! Your ages are suitable, and the family... Oh, right, what’s his family like? We really need to find out more!"
Feng Yuzhi started rambling again, and Yan Huan, annoyed, blocked her ears: "Mom, you’re starting to nag again! My leg is injured and you don’t even care about it! All you think about is Ji Chuan!"
"Your leg? What’s wrong with your leg? It’s not like you’re going to die!"
"Aaaah! I really doubt if you’re my real mother!" Yan Huan threw out the words and dashed back upstairs to her own bedroom.
Yan Huan drew the curtains, washed her face and brushed her teeth, then lay back in bed. After staring at the ceiling for a while, the scene from dinner tonight kept replaying in her mind.
Thinking about the past between Cheng Yue and Shen Qiqi made her chest start to feel stifled.
"So annoying!" Yan Huan, restless and annoyed, covered her head and tossed around the bed before gradually drifting into sleep.
In the dream, it was all a blur, the gale howling, with no sense of direction or path.
The overwhelming sand almost buried her. She opened her mouth to shout, to call out, only to find she couldn’t make any sound.
Yan Huan inexplicably got anxious, like an ant on a hot pan, turning around in circles.
Suddenly, the scene in the dream shifted.
A very unfamiliar place, cold and gloomy, with no sunlight in sight.
Yan Huan felt a chill creeping up her back. She hugged her arms, continuously wandering in this strange place.
After who knows how long, the environment suddenly brightened.
In front of her was a sky of bright blue, and clear, flowing water. She joyfully ran over, took off her shoes, and placed her bare feet in the cool water.
Her two pale feet were playing in the clear water, splashing. Suddenly, the water changed color, from light pink to blood red.
The entire stream looked like a winding river of blood, terrifying to behold.
Yan Huan quickly withdrew her feet from the water. Just as she was about to leave, the sky suddenly changed, enveloping her in a thick mist. Frantically, she searched for a way out.
Suddenly, a face emerged from the mist, abruptly appearing in front of Yan Huan.
She screamed and jolted awake, sitting up abruptly, her back drenched in cold sweat. She didn’t have time to recall the terrifying dream as nausea surged in her stomach, and she dashed barefoot into the bathroom.
She vomited, her stomach spasming, and the discomfort brought tears to her eyes.
After retching for a while, she turned on the faucet and scooped up some fresh water to wash her face.
This dream hadn’t occurred in a long time.
The last time seemed to be about a year ago. Now, the dream had suddenly reappeared, so vivid and so real.
After washing her face, Yan Huan returned to bed, feeling too exhausted to move, all her strength seemed drained, leaving her lying there listlessly, too afraid to close her eyes again.
