Chapter 2371 - 2264: Never Fight an Unprepared Battle
Later, as time went by, Nancheng City underwent significant changes.
The old Mo’s restaurant was replaced by the current Milo Western Restaurant, with decor more refined than before.
Many people come here to eat, but most of them are couples or intellectuals.
As they pushed open the two glass doors, a waiter dressed in Western attire walked up to them.
"Table for two!" Ji Chuan said, "Table 216."
"I’m sorry, sir! That table has already been reserved." the waiter said.
"I want table 216. Please check the records again!" Ji Chuan raised an eyebrow.
"Certainly. Please wait a moment!"
The waiter left, and Yan Huan looked at Ji Chuan somewhat awkwardly, "It’s just a meal, why fuss about being near a window or not? It’s not such a big deal! Don’t trouble the waiter!"
Ji Chuan’s mouth twitched, revealing a smile of mystery, but he said nothing.
Soon, the waiter returned.
"Sir, madam! Please follow me!"
"Alright."
This table was reserved in advance by Ji Chuan!
An unprepared battle is never fought, that’s Ji Chuan’s principle of action!
Yan Huan sat down and glanced around the environment, which was exquisite, elegant, and imbued with a rich cultural atmosphere.
"Do you like it?" Ji Chuan asked, holding the menu.
"The environment is nice." However, she felt a bit too conspicuous wearing her military uniform here.
"That’s good. What do you want to eat?"
"Steak! Oh, don’t forget dessert!" After Yan Huan finished ordering, she suddenly realized something, "Wasn’t I the one arranging to host? How does it feel like we switched roles?"
"Really? But in the end, you’re still the one paying the bill!" Ji Chuan said with a smile.
"Alright then." Yan Huan nodded.
After the orders were placed, the waiter first brought a bottle of red wine, opened it, and poured it for both of them.
"Shall we start with a toast?" Ji Chuan proposed.
"Sure." Yan Huan swirled her glass and said, "I’m not good with words, can’t say anything too polite, I just want to say thank you!"
"You’re too kind. No need for words, as long as you’re happy with the meal." Ji Chuan said with a smile.
"Alright. After all, I’m not going to be polite with you." Saying this, Yan Huan felt paradoxically awkward.
"What’s the matter?" Ji Chuan saw her pause.
"Nothing! Come on, cheers!" Yan Huan raised her glass to clink with Ji Chuan’s.
The two beautiful long-stemmed glasses collided with a crisp "clang," just then Yan Huan heard a familiar voice, tinged with a bit of anger.
"Yan Huan!!"
She turned her head to see Cheng Yue standing not far away, looking at them full of disappointment.
"Cheng Yue? Are you here to eat?" Surprised, Yan Huan asked.
"Why else would I be at a restaurant if not to eat?" Cheng Yue frowned, seemingly very displeased with Yan Huan dining with Ji Chuan.
What displeased him more was the bouquet of fiery red roses beside her.
This foolish woman, doesn’t she know what roses represent?
And yet she accepted them just like that!!
"What a coincidence!" Ji Chuan smiled at Cheng Yue.
"Director Ji, am I interrupting you two?" Cheng Yue suppressed his disappointment and anger.
"Of course not." Ji Chuan smiled and asked, "Did you come alone?"
"Why, if I came alone, would Director Ji invite me to join you for dinner?" Cheng Yue retorted.
"That depends on Huanhuan’s opinion. She’s the one hosting today!" Ji Chuan’s gaze full of laughter turned towards Yan Huan.
