Chapter 1897 - 1898: An Absolute Jealous Jar

"Second Sister, you just stopped without saying a word. I almost tripped over you," Gu Shuangshuang muttered.

"Sister-in-law... look, look over there. Is that my brother?" Tian Ermei pointed at the couple sitting at the wonton stall, eating and chatting, and asked Gu Shuangshuang.

Gu Shuangshuang focused her gaze and a flash of joy crossed her eyes. It was Tian Niu, no doubt about it. Only today, he wasn’t in his uniform; he wore casual clothes.

"If that’s not your brother, who could it be? Second Sister, we’re really lucky today!" Gu Shuangshuang said excitedly, ready to go forward, but seeing the scene ahead, her heart suddenly grew cold.

Second Sister happened to see it too; she frowned and was about to rush forward, but Gu Shuangshuang grabbed her wrist: "Don’t go, stay here and just watch with me."

Just now, Tian Niu, with a wonton in his hand, was engrossed in listening to Hong Mei talking about Gu Shuangshuang. When he got excited, his chopsticks trembled, and the wonton dropped smack into the bowl.

The splattering wonton soup accidentally splashed all over him.

"Tian Niu, how can you be so careless?" Hong Mei quickly took out a handkerchief from her pocket to wipe his clothes at his chest.

"Hong Mei, let me do it, you don’t have to," Tian Niu really didn’t like any woman besides Gu Shuangshuang touching him, so he quickly declined.

"Let me help you wipe it," Hong Mei didn’t mind at all; while talking, she kept moving her hands.

"No need, I’ll do it myself. If your sister-in-law sees it, there’s no telling how she’d criticize me again."

"What? Are you that scared of your sister-in-law? She’s at the military compound right now; how could she be here? Besides, even if she does come, she wouldn’t get jealous over something so trivial," Hong Mei said with a grin.

"Who says she wouldn’t get jealous? Your sister-in-law is a real jealous person; I dare not provoke her at home!" Tian Niu joked, yet he was telling the truth!

Hong Mei was amused by his straightforward manner: "I didn’t expect you to be afraid of your wife."

"But I went through so much trouble to marry her, I have to cherish her and not let her feel hurt..." As Tian Niu spoke, he snatched the handkerchief from Hong Mei’s hand.

Hearing this, Hong Mei felt a bit unjust for Gan Tian.

Gan Tian, this silly woman, is madly in love with you, yet you only have eyes for your wife, leaving no space for her.

She was under the illusion that she had won your heart; how laughable.

While Hong Mei was lost in thought, Tian Niu took the opportunity to snatch the handkerchief from her hand.

Seeing her hand tightly grasping Tian Niu’s, Hong Mei looked up to find Tian Niu’s face flushed. She was startled and quickly let go: "Sorry, Tian Niu, I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to!"
