Chapter 280: A Punchable Gaze
Chapter 280: A Punchable Gaze
Standing off to the side, Wu Yue felt like she’d been a complete salted fish all day—the kind that was so salty it stank.
Looking at the finished clay ring for the well, Wu Yue couldn’t have been in a better mood.
When she saw Teng Kun find a pile of large leaves to cover the well’s clay ring, Wu Yue couldn’t help but ask in confusion, "Didn’t you say it needed to air dry?"
She looked up at the fierce sun, a rare sight. "The sun is so strong today. It’ll dry in no time."
Teng Kun pursed his lips. "This clay can’t be dried directly in the sun, or it’ll crack easily when we fire it later.
"It’s best to move it somewhere shady to dry, but we can’t move it right now. The only thing we can do is find something to cover it."
How could they let something they had worked so hard to build get ruined?
The moment the males heard that, they didn’t even wait for Teng Kun’s instruction before they went and found large leaves to completely cover the well’s ring.
Teng Kun gave them a resigned look but didn’t say anything.
’The task is almost finished after just one day. All that’s left is the firing tomorrow, and I’ll get a huge amount of points.’
Wu Yue felt so good she was practically floating. She waved her hand cheerfully. "Everyone, you’ve all worked hard today! Later, I’ll personally cook a delicious meal for all of you."
It was an indisputable fact throughout the entire Snow Tiger Tribe that Wu Yue’s cooking was delicious.
However, she was now on good terms with Yuan Lang and several other Beastman Warriors, so even the Half beastmen and Beastman Warriors who craved her cooking didn’t dare force her to make food for them.
So when they heard Wu Yue was going to cook herself, all the males howled with excitement.
In stark contrast to the lively scene here, over in the Black Wolf Tribe’s Salt Crystal Cave, Yuan Lang had just relayed the message from the witch and the Clan Leader to his Father before heading straight to find Teng Qian.
The guy was busy bragging to the Beastman Warriors around him, his hands never stopping as he moved the Salt Crystal Stones.
"Teng Qian."
Hearing his leader’s voice, Teng Qian nearly burst into manly tears.
He let out a wail and pounced. "Boss! What took you so long to come see me? Do you have any idea how lonely, desolate, and cold I’ve been here?"
Yuan Lang sneered. "I wouldn’t know. All I saw was you shooting the breeze and having a grand old time!"
The surrounding Beastman Warriors began to chime in. "That’s right! Teng Qian, weren’t you just making fun of me for still being a virgin?"
Yuan Lang shot an amused, teasing look at the embarrassed Teng Qian. "You’re making fun of other people?"
Teng Qian chuckled sheepishly, pulling his boss into a hidden corner. He rubbed his hands together and gave an ingratiating grin. "Boss, please, don’t expose me. Spare me a little dignity."
Yuan Lang shot him an exasperated look. "If I wanted to expose you, I wouldn’t have come over to this corner with you."
Teng Qian instantly breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did he notice that Teng Kun was nowhere to be seen behind his boss.
"Boss, where’s that guy Teng Kun? You can’t let that slacker get away with lazing around back in the tribe."
His tone held a hint of grievance by the end. Being left to mine all by himself in such a remote place felt like being exiled.
Yuan Lang said with disgust, "Why can’t you ever stand to see Teng Kun get a break? He knows how to dig cellars, doesn’t he? I left him with Wu Yue."
He’d expected Teng Qian to start whining and complaining after hearing the news, but surprisingly, a long moment passed after he spoke, and there was still no sound from the guy.
Yuan Lang couldn’t help but look over at Teng Qian, only to find him staring back with a complicated, indescribable expression. Yuan Lang’s own face darkened. "What’s with that punchable look on your face?"
