Surviving in the Beast World with a System

Chapter 262: A Bad Divination Result

Chapter 262: A Bad Divination Result

The next morning, Wu Yue groggily opened her eyes. Feeling refreshed and clear-headed, she stretched languidly. ’So comfortable!’

She got up, put on the grass-woven clothes she had set aside, and tied on her loincloth. Only then did she open the door, ready to go out and wash up.

But unexpectedly, as soon as she looked up, she saw a familiar, upright figure. The Beastman was leaning against the wall, and at his feet was the very same small wooden bucket she used to fetch water.

"Yuan Lang?"

The Beastman jolted and slowly turned his head. His eyes were still a bit hazy with sleep...

Wu Yue couldn’t help but laugh. "What are you doing here instead of sleeping?"

He was a powerful Beastman Warrior, after all. After a brief moment of grogginess, Yuan Lang was instantly wide awake.

He looked at the female before him, whose hair was still a bit messy. "We just got back from transporting another batch of salt, so I came over to see if you were awake.

Also, I’m afraid we’ll have to wait a few more days to tell the Clan Leader and the witch about curing the meat."

Wu Yue frowned, glancing up at the gloomy sky. "Why?"

"The Black Wolf Witch is here."

Wu Yue’s heart tightened. "Did they find the Salt Crystal Cave?"

Yuan Lang shook his head. "No. It’s probably because of that prophecy from the Black Wolf Witch we learned about last time.

From what the Clan Leader said, it seems the prophecy is related to our Polar Forest, and it’s not a good one. That’s why the witches from all four tribes have come to the Snow Tiger Tribe."

’A bad prophecy related to the Polar Forest?’

Wu Yue looked at Yuan Lang. "Last time, when we were in the cave, the Black Wolf Witch went to the area right above it. Does that mean the prophecy he divined is related to the cave, or at least its immediate surroundings?"

Yuan Lang gave her an appreciative glance. "I thought of that, too. So yesterday, after I found out the Black Wolf Witch was coming, I took some Beastman Warriors to block up the entrance to the cave we dug.

We didn’t block up much of it, but we used Salt Crystal Stones on the outermost layer, so they won’t be able to find it."

Wu Yue breathed a sigh of relief. "So you didn’t sleep at all last night?"

Yuan Lang yawned. "It was almost dawn by the time I got back, so I came straight here to let you know."

With that, he pointed to the bucket at his feet. "I fetched water for you, too. You should go wash up. I’m heading back."

Wu Yue nodded. "Okay."

As the Beastman’s figure receded into the distance, Wu Yue looked at the bucket of water by her feet, and a strange, inexplicable feeling welled up inside her.

After a moment, she pressed her lips together and carried the water inside.

After washing up, she used the wild vegetables Qingcao had brought the day before to make a few vegetable balls. Once she had filled her stomach, she headed to Qingcao’s house.

At that moment, Qingcao was in the open area in front of her cave, sorting the wild vegetables gathered the previous day. Seeing Wu Yue approach, she broke into a wide, happy grin.

"Yue, have you eaten yet?"

Wu Yue nodded. "I have. I came to see you."

With that, she squatted down and began to help Qingcao sort the vegetables on the ground.

The vegetables in her hand felt a bit tough. Frowning, Wu Yue looked at Qingcao. "The wild vegetables are almost all gone, aren’t they? What are we going to gather next?"

Qingcao’s hands paused in their work. She frowned and sighed softly. "Probably some fruits, I guess. But they spoil easily, and eating too many makes you feel sick."

Seeing Qingcao’s dejected expression, Wu Yue pressed her lips together and asked, "Is that all there is? Just fruit?"

Qingcao was about to nod, but then she seemed to remember something, and her eyes suddenly lit up. "There’s also white root!"

’White root? What’s that?’
