Chapter 401: Cliche
Chapter 401: ClicheWilliam squinted his eyes at Sanya as she walked into their bedroom after cleaning up and changing into sleepwear.
"What?" Sanya asked, recognizing the suspicious look William was giving her.
"So, what’s with you and that doctor?" he asked with a frown.
"Ah, we’re good friends. He likes me, but I can’t see myself in a romantic relationship with him, so I straightforwardly rejected him," Sanya said casually as she joined William on the bed.
She was still annoyed at Ivan, but that man had that attitude sometimes, so it was nothing new to her. To be honest, Ivan was a good catch, but she found him weird most of the time, not to mention his mood swings.
"So, he’s probably sulking, especially now that he met me! Seeing how you got someone much better in everything!" William proudly stated, his eyes glinting as he looked at her.
Sanya chuckled, recognizing that look from her husband. He was waiting for her to agree, so she stared back at him with a wicked smile and said, "Of course! My husband is the best."
William frowned and shrugged, murmuring, "That’s all?"
"Hmm, you’re more handsome, richer!" she teased with a grin.
"He’s more of a genius, I guess? After all, he’s the hope for Dad’s recovery..." William murmured with a sigh. "To be honest, when he cut you off earlier, I wanted to throw my fork at him, but I didn’t. I’m trying not to get on his bad side... Who knows if he’s a petty guy or not? He might end up jeopardizing the cancer re
Sanya rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress her grin. "We’re such a cliche, aren’t we?"
"Maybe," William teased, "but I don’t mind being redundant when it comes to you Sanya."
William shifted slightly, his hand sliding under her sleepwear, the warmth of his palm sending shivers through her body. Like always, William effortlessly undressed both himself and Sanya, carelessly tossing their clothes onto the floor. She smiled as William stared at her face.
"What?" she murmured.
William just smiled back before leaning down and kissing her lips again.
No matter how many times they shared moments like this, it always felt like the first time. Their love was passionate yet comforting, fiery yet grounding... beautiful contradiction that seemed to define them.
