Chapter 81: Excited Xiang Long

Chapter 81: Excited Xiang Long

Xian Tiandi returned to his cultivation room and settled onto the cushion. Night cultivation was important for maintaining balance between yin and yang energies. The spiritual energy that flowed during nighttime hours carried different properties than daytime energy, cooler and denser.

Hours passed in silent meditation. Xian Tiandi cultivated through the entire night without sleeping. His body didn’t need much rest at his cultivation level. A few hours of proper meditation provided more restoration than a full night’s sleep ever could for mortals.

The spiritual energy of Azure Dragon Peak flowed into his body in steady streams. His meridians absorbed it, refined it, and circulated it through his dantian. Each cycle strengthened his foundation incrementally.

Dawn arrived. The sky lightened gradually, shifting from black to deep blue to pale orange. Light crept through the windows of his cultivation room, painting geometric patterns across the floor.

Xian Tiandi opened his eyes and completed his morning cultivation cycle. His spiritual energy was completely full, his dantian brimming with power. Every meridian in his body hummed with vitality.

A knock at the courtyard gate drew his attention.

He stood and walked through the residence to the gate, opening it smoothly. A young outer sect disciple stood there nervously, clutching a scroll. The boy couldn’t be older than fourteen or fifteen, and his cultivation was only at Qi Refinement 5th stage.

"Inner Disciple Xian?" the boy asked hesitantly, his voice cracking slightly.

"Yes," Xian Tiandi confirmed.

The boy held out the scroll with both hands, bowing respectfully. "Delivery from the administrative office. Your official schedule and sect information."

Xian Tiandi took the scroll and retrieved a contribution point token from his spatial ring, handing it to the boy as a tip. The boy’s eyes widened in surprise and gratitude. He bowed deeply three times before hurrying away down the mountain path.

Xian Tiandi returned to his cultivation room and unrolled the scroll, reading its contents carefully.

His schedule included mandatory training sessions for inner disciples three times per week. These sessions covered advanced techniques, combat practice, and spiritual energy control methods. Attendance wasn’t strictly required, but missing too many sessions would be noted.

He had full access to the mission board for contribution point missions. The scroll explained the contribution point system in detail. Points could be earned through missions, sect contributions, or achievements. They could be spent on cultivation resources, technique manuals, spirit pills, and various other items at the sect’s resource halls.

There was also a notice about a mandatory sect rules lecture for all new disciples at noon today. Attendance was required and would be recorded. Missing it would result in disciplinary action.

Finally, there was a summons to meet his assigned mentor elder in two days. Every inner disciple was assigned a mentor who would provide guidance, answer questions, and help direct their cultivation path.

Xian Tiandi memorized all the information and stored the scroll in his spatial ring. The sect rules lecture would be tedious, but necessary to attend. Missing mandatory events would draw unwanted attention to himself.

He had several hours before noon. Enough time to meet up with Xian Long and Ying Yue as they’d planned yesterday.

Xian Tiandi left his courtyard and made his way down the winding path from Azure Dragon Peak. The morning air was fresh and cool. Other inner disciples were already up and moving about, some heading to training grounds, others going to the dining hall for breakfast.

The main plaza was a large open area at the center of the sect where paths from all four peaks converged. It served as the primary gathering and meeting point for disciples. A large fountain stood at its center, water flowing from a carved dragon’s mouth.

Xian Long and Ying Yue were already waiting near the fountain when he arrived. Xian Long was bouncing on his feet with barely contained energy, looking around excitedly at everything. Ying Yue stood quietly beside him, her posture more composed and reserved.

"Brother Tiandi!" Xian Long called out when he spotted him approaching. "You’re here! We’ve been waiting for a while."

"How was your first night in the sect?" Xian Tiandi asked as he reached them.

"Amazing!" Xian Long launched into an enthusiastic description immediately. "The outer sect dormitories are huge! My room is small but comfortable. I have a roommate named Li Shan who seems really friendly. He’s from a village three provinces away. The dormitory has a shared cultivation room where disciples can practice together, and there’s even a small library with basic technique manuals!"

He barely paused for breath before continuing. "There are so many people from different places! Some came from clans like us, but others are from tiny villages or even orphanages. One guy I met traveled one foot for three months straight just to reach the sect for the trials. Can you imagine?"

Ying Yue spoke up more quietly when Xian Long finally stopped talking. "My room is adequate. The other female disciples in my building have been welcoming. They helped me understand the dormitory rules and showed me where everything is located."

She looked tired though. Dark circles shadowed her eyes, suggesting she hadn’t slept much. Probably too nervous and excited to rest properly on her first night.

"How about you, Brother Tiandi?" Xian Long asked eagerly. "What’s the inner sect residential area like? Is it really as amazing as people say?"

"Individual courtyards with protective formations," Xian Tiandi replied simply. "The spiritual energy concentration is higher than in the outer sect areas. Good for cultivation."

Xian Long’s eyes widened with envy for a moment, but he quickly smiled. "That’s great! You deserve it after performing so well in the trials. Everyone’s talking about how you became an inner disciple on your first day."

They discussed their respective schedules for a while. Outer disciples had more structured and basic training requirements. Daily group cultivation sessions at dawn. Fundamental technique classes in the morning.

Regular combat practice in the afternoon. They were also required to complete at least two missions per month to maintain their stipends.
