Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 994 - 993: The Decision

Chapter 994 - 993: The Decision

The two sisters exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with countless emotions, as tears simultaneously fell from their eyes.

Tangtang and Guoguo hugged each other tightly, crying silently, fearing to be heard by Xu Ke. They stuffed their hands into their mouths to muffle their sobs.

Only faint sobs could be heard, but they weren’t loud, just barely discernible.

One had to listen carefully while inside the room to hear them, let alone being outside like Xu Ke.

Xu Ke knew the sisters might not be able to accept what he had just said immediately, so he wasn’t in a hurry. Instead, he ate everything he had prepared and cleaned up before heading out.

Although he could choose not to go to the casino today, he thought staying home might make Tangtang and Guoguo uncomfortable. To avoid making them feel uneasy, Xu Ke decided to go out.

The sisters cried for a long time in the room. If not for the aching bodies, they might have continued indefinitely.

Even so, the time had transitioned from morning to noon, demonstrating how long they had been crying.

At this moment, Tangtang and Guoguo’s eyes were swollen and red, and from sitting too long, their backs felt like they might break. Without supporting their backs while walking, they feared their bodies might split apart.

"Sister, no matter what, we can’t stay here anymore. We need to leave immediately." Guoguo rubbed her waist slowly, her expression calm as she looked at Tangtang and spoke.

Truth be told, if Guoguo hadn’t brought it up, Tangtang would have said it herself. Staying here in their current situation was a psychological torment for them.

No matter how dignified or pleasing Xu Ke’s words were, in the eyes of Tangtang and Guoguo, it amounted to them being violated by Xu Ke.

This isn’t false, because Xu Ke did take advantage of them when they were unaware or disoriented. Without their consent, even if they were to accuse him, Xu Ke wouldn’t be able to justify himself.

After all, the police and courts only care about facts. They don’t concern themselves with whether Xu Ke had good intentions for Tangtang and Guoguo’s well-being; they only acknowledge tangible evidence.

But Tangtang and Guoguo didn’t plan to accuse Xu Ke. Although Xu Ke was wrong, he had helped them numerous times.

He even gave them a large sum of money to pay off debts, helped them escape parental control, so that they didn’t have to worry about food and shelter.

With these factors combined, even if Xu Ke no longer held the image he once did in their hearts, they refused to destroy him completely.

The debt to Xu Ke would be repaid quickly by finding jobs; they wouldn’t owe him even a penny.

"You’re right. I used to think this place was my home, but now it seems we sisters are destined to rely on each other. This isn’t our home, nor our destination; perhaps we’re meant to roam the world." Tangtang looked at Guoguo’s face, speaking with a melancholy tone, her expression filled with deep sorrow.

Guoguo saw Tangtang’s expression, feeling a pang in her heart, and comforted her: "No, sister. I believe if we work hard enough, we will have our own home, and I will always be with you. As long as we have each other, every place is our home."

Guoguo’s words brought more tears to Tangtang’s eyes. Even though she had cried for a long time, more tears threatened to fall, and her head throbbed painfully. She felt uncomfortable, her eyes dry as dust, and her entire body began to feel unwell.

Tangtang showed her discomfort outwardly. Seeing this scene, she couldn’t care less about Xu Duo, and rushed into the bathroom, took a towel, soaked it in cold water, and applied it to Tangtang’s face.

"You’ve cried enough; anymore and you’ll feel worse." Guoguo said while offering the towel to Tangtang’s eyes.

"Okay, I’ll listen to you."

After all that happened, the sisters grew even closer, their hearts feeling as though they were tightly bound together.

They could feel each other’s heartbeat, realizing they weren’t alone in this world, feeling they were still alive.

During moments like this, they would thank their biological parents, knowing that despite living a painful and difficult life, they were grateful for being born, especially as twins, ensuring they wouldn’t be too lonely in this world.

"Since neither of us wants to live here anymore, let’s pack our things and move out soon."

Tangtang applied the towel to her eyes, unable to see anything, but felt safe holding Guoguo’s hand.

"Okay, don’t move. I’ll pack our things." Guoguo nodded in agreement, even though she knew Tangtang couldn’t see her, and began packing.

While they had moved into Xu Ke’s home, Xu Ke bought them many things.

But Guoguo didn’t take long to pack, and in just under half an hour, all their things were ready.

Their belongings barely filled one suitcase, filled only with items they frequently used, none of which were purchased by Xu Ke.

They wanted to leave cleanly, not taking anything related to Xu Ke, not wanting to see those items in their new home, because seeing them would remind them of Xu Ke’s repulsive face and their unfulfilled relationship.

They didn’t want Xu Ke’s influence lingering in their lives at the new place, nor did they wish to owe him anything more.

Afraid of not having the courage to face Xue Ke with straightened backs if they kept owing him.

"Sister, my packing is done. When do we leave?" Guoguo dragged the suitcase to the bed, looking at Tangtang applying the towel.

Hearing Guoguo’s words, Tangtang quickly removed the towel, and despite her discomfort, she had just one thought: she urgently wanted to leave.

"He’s not outside, is he?" Tangtang jumped from the bed, grabbed her bag and identification, and asked with disdain.
