Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 941 - 940: Role Reversal

Chapter 941 - 940: Role Reversal

The group was very polite to Xu Ke. They knew he deserved some degree of respect. Anyone sitting here who was cautious or humble wouldn’t be able to comfortably accept their goodwill in this situation.

But Xu Ke wasn’t just anyone. He encountered such scenes countless times each year and had long become numb to them.

Xu Ke was even surprised when someone made room for him, not expecting such kindness on his first day. It was quite a gift.

Although it’s a gift he might not really like.

Boss Xiong announced Xu Ke’s new position in the private room right in front of his subordinates. He even came over and invited Xu Ke to drink with him.

With Boss Xiong leading the introduction, the mood instantly became lively. The manager of the club promptly called for the top hosts and hostesses to entertain everyone, even Xu Ke was allocated two.

Seeing Xu Ke’s disinterest in women, everyone laughed.

"Don’t be shy, we’re all part of the team now, nothing to be embarrassed about. If this style isn’t to your liking, just tell me. Whatever you fancy, I’ll find it for you. What sort of hosts don’t we have? Surely there’s at least one or two you’ll be satisfied with."

The manager of Shenghao spoke with a certain pride, as if it was something to be deeply proud of.

It was clear that he had a passion for his business. Initially treating Xu Ke as a subordinate, he quickly adjusted his attitude after Boss Xiong’s words, engaging with Xu Ke as a peer.

Now seeing Xu Ke’s indifference to the hosts and hostesses, he immediately took on the role of the boss, pushing sales to Xu Ke as if marketing a beer.

"Why are you two standing there like lumps? Aren’t you going to show what you can do to your Xu Ge? What are you waiting for, until the flowers are all dried up?"

The manager of Shenghao had a bit of an accent, adding a humorous touch to his words.

Upon hearing the manager’s words, the hosts and hostesses treated Xu Ke with extra enthusiasm, practically draping themselves over him like water snakes.

Offering Xu Ke snacks, feeding him fruit, and drinks.

Calling his name endearingly, the sound was coated in at least 10 pounds of honey, sweetness was off the charts, saturating Xu Ke with goosebumps.

"Talk to me normally, not like this. We know each other well enough. I’ve gotten used to you being unserious, now that you’re working earnestly and I’m the target, I find it hard to adjust." Xu Ke pushed away the outreaching hands of the hosts and hostesses while explaining.

"It’s not that they’re lacking in skills, it’s that I’m familiar with their usual work mannerisms. Plus, having worked together as colleagues for so long, I view them like younger siblings. I can’t help but only see them that way, so don’t blame my preference. It’s not their issue, it’s mine."

Xu Ke defended the hosts and hostesses.

"It’s my oversight not considering that before. Truly remorseful. Perhaps, if you don’t mind, I’ll find you two newcomers. They just started yesterday, guarantee you haven’t seen them yet."

The manager didn’t give Xu Ke a chance to refuse, promptly ordering to bring the two newcomers into the private room.

They were twins, looking exactly alike, like two people staring in a mirror, no distinct differences to tell them apart.

"I acquired these twin yesterday. How are they? Aren’t they adorably charming? They’re fresh, just graduated from college. I’d keep them for myself if it weren’t for your success today. They’re my way of celebrating you. Otherwise, I’d train them to be our club’s stars."

The manager spoke as he draped an arm over Xu Ke’s shoulder.

"You two, stop standing around. Serve your Xu Ge properly. Make him happy, and you’ll have good times ahead."

With the manager’s cue, the twins sat on either side of Xu Ke, and the original seat was vacated.

The twins had that popular schoolyard look, with round cheeks, round eyes, cherry lips, and high noses—making them look perfectly cute like dolls in a store window.

They weren’t just cute, their voices were sweet and clear and remarkably identical, you couldn’t tell which was the sister, which was the brother.

Even their figures were impressive, making simple clothes seem curvy, playing on a sense of allure that made one want to pin them down, watching them cry from being teased.

"Xu Ge, let me offer you a drink." The girl to his left offered Xu Ke a glass.

Xu Ke raised a brow and spoke, "Don’t you think a little introduction is in order before offering drinks?"

Hearing Xu’s words, the girl blushed, exhibiting a playful sort of panic rather than real distress.

Her face flushed, "I’ll drink first as punishment, I forgot. I’m Tangtang, the sister."

"I’m Guoguo, the brother."

With their introductions, Xu Ke identified the sister sitting to his left and the brother to his right.

"You two look so alike, can your parents tell you apart?" Xu Ke asked with curiosity, as it was the first time he had encountered twins so identical, and so near that it piqued his interest.

The brother smiled softly, while the sister spoke playfully, "Nope, unless we say so, no one can tell us apart."

"Not even those who’ve been around you for a long time?"

"No," the sister replied with pride.

"Why did you both come to work here?" As Xu chatted with the twins, holding a glass in hand.

Perhaps seeing that Xu Ke wasn’t interested in other intentions, the twins responded more respectfully.
