Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 894: Daring Across the World

Chapter 894: Daring Across the World

The two didn’t even haggle, and the deal went through smoothly, so smoothly that Xu Ke found it somewhat unbelievable. He had no idea where the ’it’s all up to you’ attitude from Brother Zhang came from, so Xu Ke didn’t dare to relax, maintaining a tense expression throughout.

After finishing the deal, the two began normal entertainment activities. The man first toasted Brother Zhang with a few drinks, but Xu Ke blocked them all, then shifted his gaze to Xu Ke.

"The person next to you looks unfamiliar, is he a new recruit?" The man looked at Xu Ke and asked Brother Zhang.

"Yes, he’s new. This is Little Xu. You should say hello to him." Brother Zhang gave Xu Ke a slap on the back, intending for Xu Ke to greet the man he called Brother Fa Cai.

"Don’t call me Brother Fa Cai; the name sounds a bit dated. My surname is Qian, just call me Brother Qian." The man laughed, appearing somewhat harmless.

But what he didn’t know was that the more he tried to appear this way, the tighter the string in Xu Ke’s mind became.

"Brother Qian, I’m new here, so please forgive any ignorance on my part." Xu Ke raised his glass in a toast to the man.

Xu Ke didn’t know if it was his imagination, but for a moment, it seemed the man looked at him with a hint of danger. However, the feeling came and went quickly, easily making one think it was just a mistake.

But Xu Ke was someone who never believed in illusions; either you see it, or you don’t, no such thing as mistaken perception, so his vigilance towards the man reached the highest point.

While Xu Ke was inwardly wary of the man, the man acted like nothing had happened, smiled at Brother Zhao and said, "Your new recruit is pretty good, not shy, sweet-talking; with proper training, he could become your right-hand man."

Hearing the man’s words, Brother Zhao’s hand holding the wine glass paused briefly, but he quickly concealed it and chatted with the man like nothing happened. He even called a few ladies in.

Pale-skinned, beautiful, tall, long-legged, scantily clad women quickly surrounded the four of them.

Perhaps because all four looked handsome, the smiles on the faces of several hostesses seemed genuine, and their voices were a few shades sweeter, like they had tasted honey.

Xu Ke discreetly removed the hand touching him, while listening to the conversation between the three others.

"Why do you keep avoiding her? Don’t you like her? If you don’t like this type, there are other types, you can choose." Brother Qian noticed Xu Ke was avoiding contact with the hostess and spoke with a smile, while secretly observing him.

"Sorry, I have my own religious beliefs, so..." Xu Ke showed a hint of difficulty on his face, looking apologetically at Brother Qian.

"Oh, I thought you were saying they aren’t beautiful enough." Brother Qian showed a look of realization, playfully teasing.

"But in our line of work, there really aren’t many with religious beliefs. For people like us, money is the only faith, nothing else matters much." Brother Qian smiled at Xu Ke.

Hearing this, Brother Zhao looked at Xu Ke and then smiled, continuing the conversation, "He’s new, doesn’t know much yet, hasn’t quite adapted, but he’ll be fine in a while."

Listening to their veiled exchanges, Xu Ke displayed an innocent smile.

However, the hostess beside Xu Ke showed a hint of disappointment, with greed still lingering in her gaze toward him.

After all, Xu Ke was the most handsome among the four, and she had exerted all her energy to stay closer to him, only to end up with such a result.

Reluctantly, the hostess moved away from Xu Ke’s side. Fortunately, the guests didn’t send her away, so she could continue serving others, and tonight’s pay wouldn’t be deducted, which was a small blessing.

Yet her gaze kept lingering on Xu Ke, hoping he might change his mind and call her back.

But she was destined to be disappointed; Xu Ke had no interest in any of them.

Their appearances were impressive, but compared to Lin Mengyao and Ariel, they paled in comparison; once someone has tasted the finest delicacies, how could they willingly settle for plain porridge and cabbage?

While they were having fun, the door to the room was suddenly kicked open from outside, and several drunken men entered, reeking of alcohol.

"Damn, where’d these people come from? Why are they in our room? You guys better get out, don’t just walk into other people’s rooms; have you paid?" One man with multicolored dyed hair belched, squinting as he spoke.

"Yeah, hurry up and leave our room, we’re still having fun, don’t want you guys around, be sensible and leave, don’t make us move you." Another man with a ponytail, supporting the multicolored-haired man, spoke with a mouthful of alcohol breath.

"Move it, don’t stay here causing trouble, you’re affecting our bonding time." Another man with dreadlocks added.

The sudden intrusion by the drunks quieted the lively room, scaring the hostesses, while Brother Zhao and Brother Qian eyed them with caution.

"Sorry guys, you’ve got the wrong room; this is ours. Your room should be nearby. Take another look, and if you can’t find it, call security, they’ll help." Brother Qian said with a smile to the intruders.

Only the man sitting behind him clearly saw the coldness in Brother Qian’s eyes, knowing he was very unhappy with these unexpected intruders, only suppressing his emotions.

Normally, if they turned to leave, the outcome might be different, but upon hearing Brother Qian’s suggestion to leave, the already drunken men immediately got upset.

"What did you say? This is your room? Why don’t you call it and see if it answers?" The man with dyed hair said.

"Doesn’t matter if it’s yours or not, once we’re in, it’s ours. Be smart and get out, don’t make me repeat myself." The ponytailed man said impatiently.
