Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 864: Escape

Chapter 864: Escape

"Sorry, sorry, we didn’t do it on purpose, he kicked us into you." The two people scrambling off the man hurriedly explained.

"Stop babbling in front of me and help me up quickly." The man reached out and slapped the speaker, impatiently speaking.

Given the overwhelming difference in strength between the two people, the slapped person could only swallow their pride and, with great effort, helped the man up from the ground.

The man staggered up, looking at Xu Ke with extreme hostility, "I was unprepared and underestimated you, this skinny twig, that’s why you got a chance to hit me. This time, I’ll be serious. If you admit defeat now, I’ll be generous and let you go. Otherwise, when I unleash my power, there’ll be no retreat for you, and I won’t stop until I break a few of your ribs." The man snarled as he spoke.

The man’s face full of muscle twisted into such an expression, from Xu Ke’s angle, wasn’t intimidating but rather disgusting, making Xu Ke feel like his eyes had been stung by an onion, overwhelmingly irritating.

Xu Ke’s instinctive action of closing his eyes and looking away appeared to the man as if Xu Ke was frightened by his aura and forced to avoid his edge, restoring some of the confidence Xu Ke had previously kicked away.

"Scared now, aren’t you? If you’re scared, kneel on the ground and apologize to me, and maybe I’ll consider forgiving you." The man said.

"Though it’s broad daylight, perfect for daydreaming, I thought my previous kick woke you up from your dream. I didn’t expect you’d just roll over and fall back asleep, still not planning to wake up from this dream." Xu Ke said while shaking his head.

"Stop this nonsense with me. Save the bragging for after you’ve beaten me. Right now, saying such things only invites laughter." Xu Ke disagreed.

Xu Ke’s dismissive gaze and tone made the man’s face flush with anger, "Fine, then I’ll show you what true power is. I’ll make you utterly convinced of your defeat." The man said, taking off his shirt and throwing it harshly on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

"Boss, this person does seem rather tricky. If it’s too much, let’s admit defeat. There’s no shame in losing a few times; there’s no need to fight him to the end here." The short man glanced cautiously at Xu Ke and said quietly beside his boss.

"So what if he’s tricky? I already said, I didn’t use my full strength last time, giving him a chance to exploit. This time, I’ll give it my all. Do you think I can’t even beat a skinny twig?" The man shot a piercing glance at the short man who had been speaking to him.

"No, no, I’m sure you can beat him, for sure." The taller man gave the short man a look, and even though the short man wanted to say more, he closed his mouth and began to join the blind praise.

The man noticed his lackey’s doubt but with Xu Ke, the real enemy in front of him, teaching Xu Ke a lesson was more important. Thus, he only gave the two a fierce glare before focusing all his attention on Xu Ke.

Since Xu Ke’s kick earlier, he realized Xu Ke wasn’t an easy opponent. Precisely because of this, the man’s attitude towards Xu Ke became more cautious and prudent, even though the fight hadn’t begun, sweat had already appeared on his forehead. His large exposed white flesh made him look like a giant insect, nauseating upon glance.

"How long are you going to stand there? You gonna fight or not?" Xu Ke asked, unable to resist, seeing the other man standing motionless for so long.

Hearing the disdain and contempt in Xu Ke’s tone, the man let out a loud shout, then charged towards Xu Ke like a mountain of flesh, determined not to give Xu Ke the chance to kick him away again.

The woman standing behind them remained as stupefied as before. Perhaps due to her imagination, she felt the ground trembling with the man’s steps. Although she had previously witnessed Xu Ke kicking this man away, as the man rushed towards Xu Ke again, she instinctively closed her eyes, feeling something bad was about to happen.

The two lackeys beside the man were looking at the man and Xu Ke with excitement and tension, hoping the man could avenge them, preferably by knocking Xu Ke away, teaching him a harsh lesson about the real world.

They watched Xu Ke and the man without blinking, but the scene they anticipated didn’t unfold. Instead, the man, like a kite, was once again sent flying, this time causing cracks on the alley walls and the sound of his fall louder than before. They even felt the ground tremble twice.

The two men instinctively swallowed, stiffly looking at Xu Ke, their eyes falling on Xu Ke’s leg. They had every reason to suspect Xu Ke’s legs beneath his jeans were mechanical, otherwise how could such thin legs twice send a heavy man like their boss flying.

When their boss was first kicked away, it could be considered a fluke or Xu Ke’s luck. However, the repeated scene confirmed Xu Ke’s formidable strength, especially since their boss was knocked out this time. It showed the extent of Xu Ke’s power, causing fear to creep into their gaze at Xu Ke.

"What? You aren’t convinced either and want a go?" Xu Ke looked at them, raising one eyebrow as he asked.

Hearing Xu Ke’s question, the two shook their heads vigorously, their speed akin to a bee’s wings flapping, making Xu Ke worry they might shake their heads off.

"If you’re not looking to fight, what are you two still standing here for?" Xu Ke said coldly.

The two stopped shaking their heads and instantly ran out of the alley without looking back, as though something terrifying was chasing them, completely abandoning their boss, who lay unconscious and half-naked on the ground.

"You’re safe now, need me to take you home?" Xu Ke asked.
