Chapter 478: Escalating Contradictions!

Wang Cheng, who was dueling Lei Shishi, furrowed his brow when he sensed Long Chen’s sneak attack from behind. He swiftly unleashed a burst of Sword Qi to break free from Lei Shishi’s restraint and spun around to face Long Chen, quickly raising his Sharp Sword to block. Lei Shishi struck again at the same moment, catching him in a pincer attack.

Wang Cheng could only grit his teeth and resist.

A dull impact resounded as the immense force sent Wang Cheng flying backward.

Instantly, the qi and blood within Wang Cheng’s body roiled. His face turned pale, and he staggered back several steps before steadying himself. His strength was roughly on par with Lei Shishi’s, so with Long Chen now in the fray, he was naturally at a disadvantage.

Seeing Wang Cheng injured, the other members of the Heavenly Demon Sect sprang into action and rushed to his side. Simultaneously, Long Xin, Chu Lingjun, and Tang Le flickered out of sight, reappearing beside Long Chen and Lei Shishi. For a moment, the two sects were locked in a standoff. The atmosphere grew tense, with weapons drawn.

Wang Cheng’s expression was grim. He knew that if Feng Lin were still alive, they would have at least a fifty-fifty chance in a direct confrontation with the Jinglei Sect. But with Feng Lin dead, the scales were clearly tipped in the Jinglei Sect’s favor. This was a very disadvantageous situation for their Heavenly Demon Sect.

With this in mind, Wang Cheng turned his head to look at Xue Wuying. "Son of Blood," he said, "as the saying goes, ’Even when you beat a dog, you must consider its master.’"

"We just showed our goodwill, and you’ve already accepted us as your subordinates. But now this man is targeting my Heavenly Demon Sect. He’s clearly showing you no respect at all!"

Hearing this, Xue Wuying slowly raised his head, his sinister gaze falling upon Long Chen and the others.

Lei Shishi’s brows knitted tightly. If the Xueyun Sect gets involved, this will become much more complicated.

Long Chen had no desire for a conflict with them yet, so he addressed the crowd. "It was the Red Glint Sword Qi that killed that man, not me. Don’t you find it ridiculous that your Heavenly Demon Sect is blaming me?"

"Still running your mouth?!" Wang Cheng snorted coldly. "If you hadn’t deliberately lured that Sword Qi to attack my junior brother, he wouldn’t have met such an end."

"This is all your fault, and you will pay the price!"

"I will take your damn life to avenge my junior brother!"

Wang Cheng grew extremely agitated.

Long Chen ignored him, turning instead to Xu Huanhuan and He Luo. "I’ve found a way to deal with the attacks from these spears and Sharp Swords," he said. "If you want to leave this level safely and easily, you’d best make him stay out of this."

After hearing Long Chen’s words, the two of them were stunned for a moment before asking, "Are you sure?"

"Of course," Long Chen nodded with certainty. "I’ve already discovered the key to this whole setup."

"He’s clearly spouting nonsense. You can’t believe a word he says," Xue Wuying said coldly. In his eyes, Long Chen was just a cornered dog, spouting desperate lies to save his own skin because he was afraid that he, Xue Wuying, was about to attack.

"I believe him," Xu Huanhuan giggled. In a flash, she appeared right in front of Long Chen.

She was breathtakingly beautiful and carried a faint, sweet fragrance. Her voice, however, turned cold. "But if you dare to deceive us, forget about protection. I might just cook you myself."

Long Chen’s expression remained calm as he looked at her.

This woman is gorgeous, but she’s a true femme fatale. The slightest mistake, and she would devour him whole, leaving nothing behind.

Seeing Xu Huanhuan choose to believe Long Chen, He Luo glanced at Xue Wuying and gave a slow nod, signaling him to keep his anger in check for now.

Xue Wuying swept a cold glare over Long Chen but ultimately reined in his aura.

Facing the ceaseless barrage of spears and Sharp Swords, they joined forces, blasting the weapons away. Even when the weapons circled back to attack again, they were still repelled.

With their help, Long Chen reached the secret chamber with much greater ease.

Pointing at the giant sword up ahead, Long Chen spoke to Xu Huanhuan, Xue Wuying, and He Luo. "This giant sword controls the weapons in this room. The red glints that enhance the Might of the spears and Sharp Swords are released from it as well."

"If you can deal with that sword, our current predicament will be resolved."

Upon hearing his words, everyone’s gaze fixed on the giant sword.

"In that case, I’ll destroy this thing!" Xue Wuying snorted, then shot a palm strike at the giant sword.

BANG!

As Xue Wuying’s palm struck the giant sword, a terrifying power erupted from it. Powerful ripples of energy swept out in all directions.

Seeing this, Xue Wuying’s brows furrowed tightly. He knew exactly how much power was in that strike, so the fact that it couldn’t even destroy the giant sword was utterly absurd.

Xu Huanhuan and He Luo were also slightly stunned, surprise evident on their faces. Neither of them had expected the giant sword to be so bizarrely resilient. But now, they were certain of one thing: Long Chen hadn’t been lying. Their current danger was indeed caused by this giant sword.

He Luo sneered at Xue Wuying. "Weren’t you talking big just a moment ago? Why so quiet now?"

Xue Wuying was somewhat embarrassed and momentarily at a loss for words. But he refused to concede.

He said in a low voice, "If you’re so capable, you go ahead."

He Luo didn’t fall for Xue Wuying’s taunt. He stared intently at the giant sword and said slowly, "The Might of this giant sword is immense. It’s impossible for any one of us to destroy it alone."

"Exactly," Xu Huanhuan nodded. "We have to combine our strength and attack it together."

As her words fell, Xu Huanhuan, He Luo, and Xue Wuying all began forming seals. A moment later, a powerful aura erupted from each of them.
