Supreme Dragon Lord

Chapter 472: Scouting the Path!

Chapter 472: Scouting the Path!

The tower was enormous, capable of accommodating many people.

Xue Wuying, He Luo, and Xu Huanhuan were the first to enter. Afterward, a steady stream of people followed from outside. Once everyone was inside, there were nearly two hundred people within the tower. Upon entering, they all cautiously observed the interior, wary of some hidden danger.

When it became clear there was no apparent threat, everyone sprang into action. There were several entrances ahead, and they each chose one. All of them were eager to get through the First Layer of the tower as quickly as possible.

Long Chen activated his Divine Demon Eye and carefully observed the situation on the First Layer. After finding nothing unusual, he led Chu Lingjun and the others toward an entrance. Although there were several paths, Long Chen had already discovered that they were not separate; they would all converge at a single junction. Therefore, he didn’t overthink it and promptly set off.

Everyone advanced quickly. In no time at all, they had all reached the junction. At this crossroads, several more entrances lay ahead. Here, however, the atmosphere felt more ominous than it had at the start.

It was this eerie air that made the three Heaven’s Chosen—He Luo, Xu Huanhuan, and Xue Wuying—halt in their tracks. They knew full well that each layer of the tower would be fraught with danger and that the trials would not be so easily passed. Seeing that the three of them had stopped, the people from the other factions also dared not move. They waited vigilantly behind, ready to follow whatever He Luo, Xu Huanhuan, and Xue Wuying did next. Everyone here was cunning. None dared to act rashly, as they were all scheming to minimize their own losses.

"This place is a bit strange," He Luo said calmly. He turned to Xu Huanhuan and Xue Wuying and asked, "What do you two think?"

"What’s there to think about?" Xue Wuying sneered. "Obviously, we send someone ahead to scout the path."

As he spoke, Xue Wuying turned and glanced at the crowd behind him. Feeling his sinister gaze, their hearts tensed, and a trace of fear appeared on their faces. They instinctively backed away, terrified of being singled out by him. But despite their caution, some were simply unlucky.

Xue Wuying reached out, and a powerful force enveloped several individuals, yanking them toward him. They cried out, struggling with all their might, but it was futile. With a wave of his hand, Xue Wuying threw them in front of the various entrances.

Everyone present was horrified, their hearts leaping into their throats.

"You few, go scout ahead," Xue Wuying ordered coldly.

Hearing his words, the men’s faces turned ashen. Filled with terror, they tried to back away while pleading for their lives. But Xue Wuying had no intention of letting them go; his eyes were filled with a deep chill. With a casual wave, a red light flashed and swept forward. Instantly, the first man who had tried to retreat was decapitated, his head flying from his shoulders as blood sprayed everywhere.

Witnessing this, everyone present couldn’t help but shudder. The men held by Xue Wuying were especially terrified, their legs trembling uncontrollably as they froze in place.

"This is the fate of anyone who dares to disobey me!" Xue Wuying barked coldly.

Hearing this, the captured men’s faces became deathly pale. Cold sweat poured down their foreheads as they stammered, "Please... don’t kill us..."

"If you want to live, then do as I say!" Xue Wuying said coldly. "If you’re lucky enough to survive, I won’t treat you unfairly! Otherwise..."

The helpless men looked at the crowd, desperate for someone to step in and help them. But who would dare to step forward at a time like this? It would be pure suicide. No one dared to offend Xue Wuying.

Long Chen and his companions merely watched with indifference. This was a cruel world, after all. Standing up out of kindness would not only fail to resolve the situation but would also invite a great deal of trouble upon themselves.

Seeing that no one dared to speak up for them, the men lost all hope and were at a complete loss. With no options left and not a shred of hope, they could only steel themselves and obey Xue Wuying’s command.

They turned around, forcibly suppressing the terror in their hearts, and slowly moved toward the different entrances. At this moment, their minds were consumed by fear, and all they could do was silently pray that luck would be on their side.

Meanwhile, He Luo looked at Xue Wuying and remarked, "Xue Wuying, when it comes to being cold-blooded, you really take the cake."

"Spare me your crocodile tears," Xue Wuying retorted bluntly. "If you’re so kind-hearted, why didn’t you step in to stop this? Or perhaps you’d like to go scout it out yourself?"

Hearing Xue Wuying’s sarcasm, He Luo’s expression soured, but he simply snorted. "I can’t be bothered to argue with you."

Xu Huanhuan, on the other hand, remained silent, her pretty face still composed. She knew the character of these two all too well. Neither was in a position to judge the other. She had no desire to get involved; the less trouble, the better.

At that moment, driven by intense fear, the men walked into the entrances. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, they disappeared completely from view. Long Chen, however, activated his Divine Demon Eye, observing everything that happened to them as they passed through the tunnels.

Initially, they were all unharmed. They advanced very slowly, and seeing that they remained safe for quite some time, they began to relax.

Xue Wuying and the others exchanged glances, beginning to think the entrances were safe. Consequently, everyone let down their guard, assuming they could pass through as safely as they had before. They began to file toward the various entrances.

More and more people entered the tunnels, completely unaware that danger was slowly descending upon them.
