Chapter 464: Arriving at the Domain Alliance!

Upon hearing this, Long Xin immediately declared her stance. "Brother, go and fight without holding back."

"I will always be with you! No matter what happens, I will fight alongside you to the very end!"

Long Chen lowered his head to look at Long Xin, then nodded with a smile and pulled her into an embrace. "I know."

He had always seen everything Long Xin did for him. His silence didn’t mean he was unaware. He had never imagined he would become so important to her. One could even say he had become her entire world. For that reason alone, he could not let her down.

A no-fly restriction was in effect within the Domain Alliance’s territory. After reaching the outskirts, the airship could no longer proceed and slowly descended into a nearby open space.

Once the disciples from the Jinglei Sect disembarked, they followed Lei Yujing toward the center of the Domain Alliance. They approached a city wall where a checkpoint was established, guarded by powerful experts.

The City Guards had stern, serious expressions. They stood bolt upright on both sides of the city gate, sharp swords hanging at their waists. When they saw Lei Yujing and Long Chen’s group, their sharp gazes immediately locked onto them.

One of the City Guards stepped forward, staring coldly at the group. "Who are you?" he asked in a deep voice.

Lei Yujing produced a Token of the Jinglei Sect and a letter of participation, handing them over to the guard.

The City Guard inspected the letter and the Token. After confirming there were no issues, he allowed Lei Yujing and Long Chen’s group to pass.

The city area of the Domain Alliance was bustling with activity, teeming with people and vehicles. This region could be called the most prosperous in the entire God-Devil Domain.

Just as everyone was taking in the magnificent scene, Long Chen’s expression suddenly grew tense. Sensing his change in demeanor, Long Xin looked up at him and then followed his gaze. A cold light flashed across her autumnal eyes.

Ahead of them were people from the Heavenly Demon Sect.

At the same time, the group from the Heavenly Demon Sect also noticed the Jinglei Sect’s presence.

Countless icy stares instantly focused on Long Chen and his companions. The Heavenly Demon Sect disciples looked at each other, their brows furrowed deeply. To them, the Jinglei Sect shouldn’t be here. And yet, here they were.

His name was Feng Lin, one of the Heavenly Demon Sect’s contestants and a Heaven’s Chosen. The Jinglei Sect was a major rival, and now that they had run into each other, he naturally wanted to flaunt his superiority.

Upon hearing his words, the other Heavenly Demon Sect disciples nodded in agreement and followed Feng Lin toward Long Chen’s group.

"We were waiting and waiting, but you never showed up. We were starting to think you got stage fright and were too scared to come," Feng Lin taunted sarcastically as he approached.

Lei Yujing glanced at them indifferently. "Stop the act. No one knows the reason for our late arrival better than your Heavenly Demon Sect."

"Oh?" Feng Lin feigned surprise. "What do you mean by that? Has old age addled your mind so much you can no longer speak clearly?

"Tsk, tsk, if that’s really the case, how pathetic. I’d advise you not to embarrass yourself here. Hurry up and take your Jinglei Sect scum back home. This is not a place for the likes of you!"

"How dare you!"

"Audacious!"

"To speak to an Elder of our Jinglei Sect like that, you’re practically asking for death!"

The disciples of the Jinglei Sect turned ashen upon hearing Feng Lin’s words. They were eager to avenge Lei Yujing and defend the Jinglei Sect’s honor.

Seeing that her disciples were about to make a move, Lei Yujing immediately stopped them. "Stop! We are in the Domain Alliance. Fighting is forbidden outside of the official competition. Otherwise, you’ll attract the attention of the Domain Alliance’s enforcement squad.

"If the enforcement squad gets involved, not even I can protect you."

Hearing Lei Yujing’s warning, the Jinglei Sect disciples exchanged glances, a touch of apprehension in their eyes. Their clenched fists slowly relaxed. None of them had expected such a rule to exist in the Domain Alliance. Thankfully, Lei Yujing had reminded them in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been dire.

Long Chen watched with a cold expression, his gaze sweeping indifferently over Feng Lin and his lackeys.

Seeing this, a smirk played on Feng Lin’s lips. "I’m surprised you actually know the rules," he said contemptuously. "But you all seemed so eager to get your hands on me. I’m standing right here. If you find me so disagreeable, go on, make your move. Don’t hold back. You wouldn’t want to get sick from bottling up all that anger, now would you?"

The other Heavenly Demon Sect disciples roared with laughter, their arrogance on full display, completely disregarding the people from the Jinglei Sect.

Lei Yujing said coldly, "You’re just a junior, yet you speak so recklessly. You will pay for your insolence."

"Pay for it?" Feng Lin laughed heartily. "If my own sect’s elders were here, I would naturally be respectful. But I don’t give a damn about rabble from the Jinglei Sect like you, so what payment is there to speak of?"

"What payment, you ask?" Long Chen’s voice was suddenly chilling. "Your Heavenly Demon Sect sent a large force to ambush us on our way here, yet we still managed to arrive safe and sound. Have you considered what might have become of them?"

Upon hearing Long Chen’s words, the smiles on the faces of Feng Lin and the other Heavenly Demon Sect disciples froze. They were all aware that many powerful experts from their sect had set out to ambush the Jinglei Sect contingent. The primary objective was to kill them and prevent them from reaching the Domain Alliance to participate in the grand competition.

What they hadn’t expected was for Lei Yujing and Long Chen to actually show up.

Feng Lin’s eyes narrowed. "What are you implying?" he demanded coldly.

"Nothing much," Long Chen said with a faint smile. "Just a reminder that you should probably go and collect their corpses. That’s all."

Feng Lin instantly exploded with rage.

"And just who do you think you are? How dare you be so presumptuous!"

"Stop trying to fool us! Don’t think for a second I don’t know what you’re up to."

"Believe it or not," Long Chen sneered. "If you’re not convinced, make your move now. I’ll indulge you to the very end!"
