Chapter 443: The Qualification for the Challenge!

Seeing that everyone had arrived, the Deacon announced, "The Sect Assessment now officially begins! The final top three competitors will be awarded the three spots to participate in the Domain Alliance Grand Competition."

With those words, the venue immediately fell into a silence so profound you could hear a pin drop. At this critical moment, everyone began to adjust their state, wanting to put on their best performance in the arena. The Sect Assessment used an arena system where strength did all the talking.

Just then, a figure blurred past.

Before anyone could react, a man had already landed squarely in the center of the arena, in full view of the crowd.

Everyone who witnessed this was startled.

What’s going on?

Even the Deacon was bewildered. He hadn’t even announced the groupings, yet Long Chen was already standing on the arena.

The Deacon asked Long Chen, "This assessment has set procedures..."

Before the Deacon could finish, Long Chen cut him off. "Deacon, it’s just a Sect Assessment. There’s no need to make it so complicated."

Hearing this, the Deacon’s brow furrowed. The other disciples stared at Long Chen with wide eyes, curious about what he was planning.

"Insolence!" Lei Changshan’s brow furrowed as he rebuked Long Chen. "Everything has its rules, and they must be followed! When did it become your place to cause a scene here?"

Long Chen completely ignored Lei Changshan, his cold gaze sweeping over the Jinglei Sect disciples. Feeling his icy stare, the disciples felt a chill run down their spines and subconsciously lowered their heads.

After scanning the crowd, Long Chen’s gaze locked onto Shi Tongtian. He said coldly, "Come on up. Didn’t you want to fight me? Now’s your chance. Come up here and we’ll settle this."

His words left everyone dumbfounded. Shock was written all over their faces as they stared incredulously at Long Chen.

Did I... did I hear that right? Long Chen is actually challenging Brother Shi?! He’s insane! Utterly insane! The man has some nerve! Everyone else goes out of their way to avoid Brother Shi, terrified of running into him. But Long Chen... he’s publicly challenging Shi Tongtian!

Someone even pinched his own arm, and only the sharp sting of pain confirmed that this was real, not a dream. The atmosphere was dead silent, but every eye was locked on Shi Tongtian. They were all curious whether he would accept Long Chen’s challenge.

A cold smirk played on Shi Tongtian’s lips. He hadn’t expected Long Chen to pull a stunt like this. Things were getting more and more interesting.

He glanced at Long Chen and said indifferently, "Kid, are you aware that in the entire Jinglei Sect, no one has ever dared to challenge me? You’re the first."

"But do you know the consequences of challenging me?"

"I do," Long Chen said with a nod, then stated plainly, "There is only one outcome: you lose."

As soon as he said this, every Jinglei Sect disciple held their breath, not daring to make a sound. This was the pinnacle of arrogance. Challenging Shi Tongtian was already audacious enough, but openly declaring that he would defeat him was simply unimaginable.

Hearing Long Chen’s words, Shi Tongtian didn’t get angry. Instead, the cold smirk on his face widened. "Interesting kid. Very interesting. Your arrogance alone has earned my attention, but that’s all. What happens next depends on whether you have the strength to back it up!"

"What’s the big deal?" Long Chen chuckled. "I’ll take down anyone who comes."

"Impudent!"

"This is not a place for you to run wild!"

"Get down from there immediately!"

Seeing Long Chen’s lawless behavior, Lei Changshan was deeply displeased. He berated him on the spot before turning to the Deacon. "What are you still standing there for? Get up there and throw him off!"

"Yes!" The Deacon shuddered at Lei Changshan’s command. Just as he was about to move forward and drive Long Chen from the stage, an indifferent voice cut through the tension.

"It’s fine." It was Shi Tongtian who spoke. "He’s a new disciple, yet he’s challenged me in front of everyone. If I don’t accept, won’t I become a laughingstock?"

He then turned to Lei Changshan and cupped his hands. "Master, since he’s asking for a beating, I’ll be happy to oblige! I won’t disappoint you."

Lei Yujing glanced at Lei Changshan and seized the opportunity to speak. "Shi Tongtian is one of our Sect’s Heaven’s Chosen; he certainly isn’t afraid of a challenge. I, for one, am quite interested in seeing this fight. Let’s see how strong this new blood truly is."

Lei Changshan was not moved. He said coldly, "If any Tom, Dick, and Harry could issue a challenge, wouldn’t Shi Tongtian be worked to death? If you want to challenge Shi Tongtian, that’s not impossible. The prerequisite is that you must first defeat someone else."

As his voice fell, Lei Changshan’s gaze landed on a young man who immediately understood the signal. With a leap, he soared through the air and landed firmly on the arena.

"Kid, if you want to challenge Brother Shi, you have to get through me first!"

"And me!"

As soon as the young man finished speaking, another figure appeared on the stage, staring intently at Long Chen. This newcomer was also a member of Panshi.

"We are two of Panshi’s experts. Our combined strength is second only to Brother Shi’s. If you can defeat both of us, then you can challenge him."

From the high platform, Lei Yujing frowned. "Changshan, challenging Shi Tongtian is already difficult. Now you’re making him fight two others first? How is he supposed to fight Shi Tongtian after that? This is unfair."

Lei Changshan chuckled. "Since he wants to break the rules, I must teach him a lesson!" As he spoke, his eyes narrowed, fixing on Long Chen like a predator that had just spotted its prey.

Seeing Lei Changshan speak with such conviction, Lei Yujing said no more. Her gaze also fell upon Long Chen, anticipating a dazzling performance.

On the arena, Long Chen calmly faced the two men before him and said indifferently, "Fine. Bring it on."

"You court death!"

"Such arrogant words! We’ll show you what we’re made of!"

Enraged by Long Chen’s audacity, the two young men shouted at him, then stepped forward and launched a swift attack from both sides.

Facing their coordinated pincer attack, Long Chen stomped his foot. A powerful aura erupted from his body, blasting outward. The two young men’s expressions changed drastically. They hurriedly circulated their battle qi to resist the force but were still sent flying backward.

Their expressions grew solemn, and surprise was written all over their faces. They never imagined their joint attack would be dispelled so easily, let alone that Long Chen could exert such pressure on them with just a simple aura blast. This guy’s strength was clearly no simple matter.

The two young men exchanged a look and nodded, having reached a silent understanding. Together, they drew their Sharp Swords from their waists.

The two swords struck each other, emitting a piercing metallic ring. Immediately, a tremendously powerful sword light burst forth from the point of impact. The onlookers were shocked by the sight.

"I can’t believe they’re using such a powerful joint attack just to deal with Long Chen! That power is enough to contend with a Ninth Level War King Realm expert, isn’t it?"

"Can Long Chen possibly block that?!"

Amidst the crowd’s murmurs of doubt, Long Chen met their combined sword light with a single punch. A torrent of power surged from his fist, completely swallowing the sword light. The force of the Fist Shadow continued onward, its momentum undiminished.

The two young men’s faces went pale as they scrambled to defend themselves.

A piercing scream ripped through the air. The two young men were sent flying backward in unison, crashing hard onto the ground outside the arena. Their faces were ashen, and their qi and blood were in turmoil. They both coughed up mouthfuls of blood before their struggles ceased and they fell unconscious.

Seeing this, all the Sect disciples were stunned.
