They refer to them as the Dark Overlord,” Jasmine Davis said with a bitter smile.
The Dark Overlord—such an impressive title, yet it uncomfortably resembled his own title. “They say they worship darkness, and the true meaning of darkness is to bring the entire universe back to darkness,” Jasmine Davis added with a rueful chuckle.
Finn Lewis fell silent for a moment. There’s a saying that good always triumphs over evil, and that darkness cannot defeat light, but once you’re in space, you understand that in the vastness of the universe, it’s actually light that is at a disadvantage. Almost ninety percent of the universe is shrouded in boundless darkness.
That includes the black holes where even light cannot escape, of course. This has a rather mythological implication, given that everyone knows light is composed of photons.
“Are you sure they are truly evil?” Finn Lewis asked, still finding it hard to believe.
“If they conquer a planet, you must join them and become a fanatic devotee. Otherwise, the whole planet is destroyed, be it intelligent life or the plants and animals of the planet. The entire place turns into a wasteland,” Jasmine Davis said with a somber tone.
