The others also respectfully stood beside their seats. “Sit.” Finn Lewis said indifferently, motioning with his hand. Barry really wanted to say something, like “Please, Your Highness, you first,” but for some reason, Barry didn’t dare to speak and just sat down obediently.
The rest followed suit. They wouldn’t know that although Finn had already gained expert control over his mental powers, there was still an invisible influence at play.@@@@
“You all know why I’m here,” Finn said, sweeping his gaze over everyone as he spoke.
“Yes, Your Highness,” Barry replied earnestly. This wasn’t a secret. Finn had asked directly, so naturally, Barry answered likewise.
“Hmm, you have two options. The first one is to sell off your entire family’s assets and give me 200 billion star credits. I’ll waive 40 billion for you,” Finn stated coolly.
The atmosphere in the room instantly became oppressive. The Aitken Family’s cash flow had already been directly hammered by Lucy Watson, and now even their cash flow was an issue, not to mention the impracticality of selling off so many star credits.
“Please, Your Highness, state the second option,” Barry sighed.
“The second option is simple. I’ll waive the 240 billion, and I don’t want the Aitken Family, nor do I care for the territories here,” Finn said indifferently. His words caused an uproar in the conference room as everyone lifted their heads in disbelief.
“However, in return for helping me manage this place, I will grant your family a 10% share of the entire territory’s revenue,” Finn said, holding up a finger.
“These are the two management proposals. It’s up to you to decide,” Finn spoke indifferently.
While the two proposals seemed similar, the differences were substantial. The first seemed best for them, but obeying Finn’s commands meant they could lose everything if he decided to reclaim their territory. The second, where Finn seemed to give a lot, actually reassured them more because everything was laid out. These terms could make some future issues much simpler. This might not be a bad thing for the Aitken Family. It just meant giving up their family territory.
They could only become a clan under Finn, and while they could leave if they wanted, as much belonged to them, the first option made leaving difficult.
“Your Highness, we would like to consider it,” Barry hesitated before decisively speaking up.
“No problem, I’ll give you 10 minutes,” Finn nodded and then turned to walk out of the room. He entered an adjoining room and sat down.
Ten minutes was neither long nor short, but definitely pressing. Once Finn had left, Barry immediately turned to everyone and said, “Let’s discuss which option to take.”
“The first one,” said a family elder hesitantly. “Everything would still belong to us, and we might still have a chance in the future.”
“You’re overthinking it. If you have no chance now, you’ll have even less of one later,” another person interjected without hesitation before adding, “Let’s choose the second one. The first option looks too beneficial for us, its only condition being to follow this Highness’s orders, but that’s the most difficult part to deal with.”
