Chapter 1863 - 1925: You’re Not Worthy
Chapter 1863 - 1925: You’re Not Worthy
And Liu the Sixth, who is also Liu Hao, does the dirty work under someone else. Like this time, he’s here for forced buying and selling. This is Liu San’s idea. He passed by once, happened to eat here, and found the food really delicious. Then he wanted to make it his own. At first, he approached them to discuss franchising and wanted to buy the secret recipe, but the shop owner couple didn’t agree. Later, he directly proposed to buy the shop, which the couple also refused. So Liu San couldn’t hold back and directly sent Liu Hao over, telling him to get the secret recipe by any means necessary.Liu San has already set his sights on a place in the commercial square at the city center. Spend a couple hundred grand to renovate, and within a year, you’ll have a few hundred grand in income. It’s hardly a problem. Just the taste of a few dishes can easily support a big restaurant, let alone just a small shop.
So, he sent Liu Hao to take over the shop, offered Liu Hao two hundred thousand, with Liu Hao pocketing fifty thousand. Today, he ’suddenly remembered his conscience’ and gave an extra five thousand. Of course, if Li Yifei and the others hadn’t been here eating, Liu Hao would have succeeded. The shop owner couple had no ability to resist this group of thugs and would have signed the contract. As for the secret recipe... even if they didn’t want to sell, under Liu Hao’s threats, they wouldn’t have been able to hold out.
This is forced buying and selling, but a lot of things in society are like this. If you don’t have money, power, or people, you can only suffer when you are oppressed.
Liu San got the call and was immediately enraged. He thought of himself as someone with some reputation in Ying City; it was intolerable that someone dared to hit his men. Liu San tossed his phone into the car, waved to the group of underlings standing at the door, and shouted, "Someone dared to touch Little Liu, come with me. Let’s teach them a lesson today!"
Their underlings started shouting as well. Liu San had a rule: whoever worked would get an appearance fee, usually at least two hundred a day, or two hundred per task, for things like collecting debts, keeping an eye on places, or scaring people. Sometimes it was even more, and he often called a group of people to eat BBQ or roast a couple of sheep somewhere.
Because of his generosity and ’righteousness,’ these underlings were willing to work for him. Soon, they rushed out toward the small shop.
Meanwhile, in the shop, Bai He came back holding his phone, smiled shyly at Li Yifei, nodded, and said, "My dad will be here soon."
"Haha, letting your dad come over for something like this, you." Li Yifei shook his head.
Bai He was a bit embarrassed and said, "I originally wanted him to call a couple of people over, but when my dad heard Brother Li was here, he decided to come right away."
"Okay, let’s continue eating while we wait." Li Yifei beckoned a few people back to the window to continue their meal. As for Liu Hao and the others, they were naturally not willing to just kneel or stand there. Just as they were about to move, two chopsticks flew over, landing right between the legs of two underlings. A few centimeters higher, and it wouldn’t be between their legs but their third legs. The two turned pale and knelt on the ground, not daring to stand up again.
The other three underlings watched the two chopsticks stuck in the wall, their eyes bulging, and the flesh on their cheeks shaking. They didn’t dare to say a word and felt that today’s matter had really escalated beyond their control. They decided to wait until Liu San arrived and initially ’endure humiliation for the greater good.’
Liu Hao’s heart was pounding. He was going to sit down and put on a front while waiting for his boss. But seeing Li Yifei’s hand tremble and the chopsticks lodge into the wall made Liu Hao decide to act humbly, temporarily, and he didn’t want to get hit again. The places where he was beaten still throbbed with pain.
Li Yifei and his group continued to drink and eat, not taking the others seriously, which made Liu Hao realize... these people really weren’t scared and weren’t just pretending. Hmph, but so what? My big brother isn’t without backers. He has quite a presence in Ying City. Even if you have powerful people at home, what can you do?
But... damn it, I’m hungry too. Drank so much last night and then fooled around with two girls till morning, didn’t have breakfast, and came straight here, hoping to eat once it’s over. But here we are now. Watching Li Yifei and others drinking and chatting made Liu Hao swallow his saliva, his stomach growling. He could only think of one thing: big brother, hurry up, or I’ll die of hunger.
The other underlings were pretty much in the same situation, both angry and hungry. Soon, they hung their heads low, looking like beaten dogs.
Shop owner lady sat at the table, watching the group eat happily, wanting to speak several times but stopping. But Song Lianyao and the other three girls kept reassuring her, making her feel like things really weren’t that serious and that these young people could sort things out for her.
Especially after seeing Li Yifei’s composure, the shop owner lady chose to trust them. As for the shop owner’s husband, he had no other options. Things had happened, and people were beaten, long beyond his ability to handle. So he shook his head, went to the kitchen, and dug out a bottle of aged liquor, brought it to Li Yifei and the others, opened it, and sat down with them, poured a drink for Li Yifei and Qin Muchu, raised his glass and said, "Let’s have a drink, the three of us. Thank you for your help today. Since you’re not leaving, I won’t kick you out. If more people come, I’ll grab a knife and fight to the death first, killing one is a profit."
The old man spoke fiercely, a lifetime without doing anything big or bad. Now, he’s talking about killing, which shows how desperate he has become.
Li Yifei smiled, clinked his glass with the old man, downed his drink, praised the good wine, saying it was rich, and then reassured, "Uncle, no need for that. For this delicious meal, I’ll help you settle today’s matter."
Qin Muchu added, "Yeah, Uncle, with Yifei here, you really don’t need to worry."
"Not worried..." The old man nodded, and said, "To hell with it, then I’m not worried, cheers!"
They drank until they were almost done when Liu San finally showed up with his crew, fashionably late. It shouldn’t have taken so long, but Liu San’s car had a flat tire halfway. He had to change it, which delayed him.
In total, there were three cars: a minivan, an Accord, and Liu San’s Mercedes 350. As soon as the cars stopped, people poured out like dumplings—more than ten in total, some holding metal pipes and the like. Liu San also noticed a Porsche Cayenne and a brand-new BMW X6 parked in front of the small shop.
Liu San loved cars and had long wanted a nice one to drive, not just for show but also to pick up girls. However, despite making good money, he spent a lot, and he had a crew to support, so he hadn’t bought one yet. He had planned to get a smuggled car, but it hadn’t arrived yet.
So, after getting out of the car, he wasn’t in a hurry to go into the shop. Instead, he turned to look at the two cars, and his henchmen were also eyeing them and clicking their tongues, saying, "Boss, these cars are nice. The BMW isn’t more expensive than the Cayenne, right?"
"What do you know? The X6 is more expensive than the Cayenne. The Cayenne is a lower model, while the X6 is top tier," Liu San cursed, taking a string of bracelets from the car and wrapping it around his wrist. He also wore a string of Buddha beads around his neck and sported a shaved head, looking quite like a gangster boss.
The few people inside had already seen Liu San and his group through the window. They were like withered seedlings suddenly rejuvenated by rain. Meanwhile, Liu Hao had long been starving and parched. He saw Liu San was not coming in but checking out the cars, so he hoarsely called out, "Brother, I’m here!"
Liu San heard the shout, cursed under his breath, and walked towards the door. A henchman was already holding it open for him. Liu San strode in with big steps, and the first person he saw was Liu Hao, and he cursed, "What the hell can’t you do anything?"
Liu Hao didn’t dare to talk back. He stood up to join the group. Liu San had already seen Li Yifei and the others, and he shouted, seemingly asking, "Who the hell dared to bully my little brother? I’m here now."
Li Yifei and the others put down their chopsticks. The three women and the shopkeeper’s wife had finished eating, but the three of them were still drinking. When they saw Liu San coming, the shopkeeper put down his chopsticks, and seeing so many people, he became worried and restless again.
Li Yifei also put down his chopsticks, calmly watching Liu San. Qin Muchu was getting ready to stand up and block these people.
"Boss, it’s those two. They... they were the ones who beat us!" Liu Hao hurriedly pointed at Li Yifei.
Liu San chuckled, walked to the table, and took a look. Like Liu Hao, he was also dazzled by the appearance of the three women, his expression changing slightly. However, unlike Liu Hao, Liu San knew what had to be done at that moment. As for picking up girls, that was for later.
"It was you two?" Liu San slightly raised his chin, appearing somewhat arrogant. Still, he knew that these two could take down six men, so they must be skilled. But so what? Liu Hao’s crew were just random guys, tall but useless. Street fights are not just about being tall or big; the underlings Liu San brought were the real fighters who knew how to brawl.
Li Yifei didn’t respond to him. Instead, he looked at Liu Hao and said, "Is that your big brother? Not that impressive. I thought you’d bring someone more significant."
"You!" Liu Hao wanted to retort but was stopped by Liu San, who was dismissive but not angry about being looked down upon. He chuckled and said, "That’s right, I’m his big brother. I may not be much, but I’m enough to handle you two."
"You’re not enough. Call your big brother over too!" Qin Muchu understood Li Yifei’s meaning and shook his head disdainfully.
Liu San snorted, "You young ones sure talk big, but for the few of you, there’s no need to call anyone else."
