Chapter 1835 - 1896: Rescue Successful
Chapter 1835 - 1896: Rescue Successful
Strangely enough, there was no bleeding from the stab, and Li Yifei gave another stab to Old Master Su’s philtrum... oh no, it was a sword thrust. But still, no bleeding occurred. Li Yifei then gave a jab to the tip of the nose, still finding no bleeding. At this point, Wang Chao and Ma Han were no longer puzzled. During the earlier treatment process, they had suspected Li Yifei several times but had come to believe he was seriously treating, rather than... poking randomly.
It wasn’t until Li Yifei muttered to himself, "It shouldn’t be, how is there no bleeding? There should be more poison here."
As soon as he finished speaking, the hearts of the two men pounded so hard it seemed they would leap out of their throats.
Wang Chao couldn’t hold his breath any longer, coughing weakly but not daring to cough loudly, so he covered his mouth, and Ma Han wasn’t much better off, his face flushed and neck bulging.
Li Yifei looked at them strangely and said, "I’m not joking; there really should be bleeding."
Gah, Wang Chao and Ma Han immediately straightened up, staring at Li Yifei with red eyes. Wang Chao said, "You’re not joking?"
"Nonsense, is there any fun in a joke like this?" Li Yifei replied.
The two exchanged glances, and a strong murderous aura surged from Ma Han. However, Li Yifei gave him a dismissive glance, saying, "Don’t play this trick on me. If I wanted to kill the old man, he would have been dead a long time ago. Furthermore, we’re not related; why would I kill him? Rescuing him... is tiring for me, okay? Do you think I would do this just for fun if I were full?"
Hic, Li Yifei untimely hiccuped, a puff of alcohol wafting out, making Wang Chao and Ma Han almost feel mocked, thinking Li Yifei was drunk and insane, yet somehow they believed him.
Slap, Li Yifei slapped his forehead, suddenly remembering, muttering: "Not here!"
Wang Chao and Ma Han stopped again, watching as Li Yifei pinched the tip of the soft sword, stabbing again, this time behind the ear, once on each side. This time, blood finally oozed out, and it was red, though it was still a bit dark, but already closer to normal human blood color.
The eyes of Wang Chao and Ma Han were filled with immense joy; from black blood to red blood, this was a significant transformation. With Old Master Su’s previous condition, even a stab to the heart might not have caused red blood to flow.
"Is this... is it healed?" The two had become used to Li Yifei’s twisty way of speaking, so they weren’t certain.
Li Yifei tossed the soft sword aside, sat back tiredly, having squatted so long, his legs were numb and bloodless. Panting, he said, "I’ve done what I could; if it doesn’t work, there’s nothing I can do. However, it should be fine, the old man’s foundation is strong."
The two automatically ignored his disrespectful tone towards Old Master Su and kneeled down, their eyes red. Wang Chao held Old Master Su’s hand, feeling his pulse, which moments ago was only a fraction of a normal person’s, nearly negligible. Now, he could feel it. Overjoyed, he said to Ma Han, "Second brother, quickly try it. I... I feel father’s pulse."
Hearing this, Ma Han quickly put his hand there, and seconds later, immense joy filled his eyes, his lips trembling, nodding vigorously, "Yes, I also feel it, haha, that’s great."
Li Yifei simply lay back, his legs numb. The feeling was even more uncomfortable.
Wang Chao and Ma Han were immersed in immense joy, while Li Yifei was thinking about why those cuts he made, which Yao Lingfu had taught him, weren’t effective. The spot behind the ear was extremely dangerous, not to be cut easily, or it might cause trouble. If not for his intention to ensure success in his first rescue attempt, Li Yifei might have given up earlier—what if he accidentally killed him and ruined his reputation?
Fortunately, the old man’s fate was strong; he wasn’t meant to die, so Li Yifei pulled him back from the gates of death.
Happy as they were, Wang Chao and Ma Han didn’t forget to thank Li Yifei, expressing their gratitude.
Li Yifei waved his hand, saying, "Enough, you’ve been suspecting me all along. If it weren’t for the mess that guy made, I wouldn’t have got involved. Judging by your status, you should investigate who poisoned him. Even without poison, the old man wouldn’t live many more years. It’s awful that someone wishes him dead sooner."
Hearing this, Wang Chao and Ma Han nodded immediately, fiercely saying, "We will, definitely. If we find out who did it, we’ll make them wish they were dead."
At this time, they already regarded Li Yifei as a hidden expert, although the expert looked young, and although the expert’s speech made them feel like they were going to choke, as if on a roller coaster.
"Hey, take off your clothes and cover the old man; otherwise, it’s not too decent." Li Yifei pointed his chin, as a gesture of accepting their thanks.
Ma Han hurriedly took off his clothes and covered Elder Su with them, of course, only covering the crucial parts, since Elder Su hadn’t woken up and it wouldn’t be easy to dress him.
"Can I... can I call Su Lio over to check on Grandpa?" Wang Chao asked.
"Oh, she’s called Su Lio? That’s a nice name, but it’s a pity her boyfriend’s character isn’t that great." Li Yifei said, nodding, "Go ahead."
Wang Chao quickly nodded and stood up, while Ma Han explained, "It’s not her boyfriend, just a friend’s kid who’s pestering Ali. We’re not at liberty to say much, but we certainly won’t let him become Ali’s boyfriend. What kind of person is he? No sense of responsibility, only relying on family power to cause trouble everywhere."
"Hmm, that’s more like it. You guys seem like a prominent family, where are you from? How come I haven’t heard of a Su Family." Li Yifei casually asked. He did know of a Su Family; Su Mengxin’s family could be called the Su Family. But beyond that, Li Yifei hadn’t heard of any family with the same surname.
"Our family isn’t very prominent; we’re the Su Family of Changbai Mountain." Ma Han replied.
"Oh..." Li Yifei nodded again, making Ma Han think he understood. Just as Ma Han was about to ask who Li Yifei was, Li Yifei raised an eyebrow and said, "Never heard of it."
Uh... Ma Han, no matter how old he was, had never been ’played’ like today by a man much younger than himself, although he knew the other party probably didn’t mean it.
While they were talking, a door opened, and out came Su Lio and Song Lianyao. Su Lio rushed out like the wind, even losing one of her high heels, but she didn’t care. When she rushed out, she threw herself in front of Elder Su. Seeing him covered in blood and with so many wounds, Su Lio’s eyes immediately turned red, tears falling as she cried, "Grandpa, grandpa, what’s wrong with you?"
Old Master Su hadn’t woken up yet, so naturally, he couldn’t answer her. Thus, Su Lio quickly turned her anger towards Li Yifei, glaring at him with angry eyes, she asked, "What did you do to my grandpa?"
"What could I do to an old man? Don’t look at me like that. I said, if I have any intentions, it’s towards you, not this old man." Li Yifei leaned back, spreading his legs in a defenseless posture.
Su Lio wiped her tears, wanting to speak, but Ma Han stopped her, saying, "Ali, don’t speak carelessly. This gentleman just saved your grandpa’s life; you should hurry up and thank him!"
"Saved my grandpa? But Grandpa hasn’t woken up yet!" Su Lio hesitated, then shook her head and said.
"You think he’s God, waking up just like that? It’s good enough your grandpa isn’t dead, and you still expect him to wake up so soon!" Li Yifei rolled his eyes.
Song Lianyao also stepped out at this time, holding the heel of Su Lio’s shoe. She tossed it beside her and said, "My husband says he can save people, and he definitely will, doing his best. So mind your tone; don’t make him regret saving someone, only to end up feeling cold about it."
The two got along quite well before, but that didn’t mean Song Lianyao would forgive her for being disrespectful to Li Yifei.
Song Lianyao blinked and snorted lightly, pretending to fix her hair to relieve the awkwardness, then quietly said, "Thank you."
"It’s understandable to keep an apology quiet, but why be afraid to say thanks? Are you worried someone else will hear?" Li Yifei said leisurely.
"Thank you!" Su Lio shouted, looking up.
"Alright, heard it. Just don’t come looking for trouble with me later, no need for further thanks." Li Yifei said.
"Only a fool would bother you." Su Lio muttered, having never met a man like this in her life. She didn’t even know how to describe him; all she felt was anger and frustration, wanting to hit him but unable to, so she could only grit her teeth, imagining she was biting Li Yifei.
Li Yifei chuckled, not arguing with her anymore. Over there, Wang Chao blocked the door, keeping those people inside and not letting them out. In his current wretched state, Elder Su, as a son, obviously didn’t want more people to see him like this, needing to maintain a certain image.
While speaking, Elder Su surprisingly woke up. His eyelids fluttered, first noticed by Song Lianyao, who pointed at the old man and said, "He moved, his eyelids moved."
The comment drew everyone’s attention. Li Yifei, who had saved someone like this for the first time, naturally hoped it had worked. The old man, who had been totally unresponsive even when his skin was cut, was now moving his eyelids; this proved the method was correct, so Li Yifei propped himself up to look over.
Ma Han instantly knelt on the ground, looking at Elder Su with immense emotion, while Wang Chao hurriedly ran over to see the old master. Su Lio got closer, noticing that Grandpa’s eyelids were indeed twitching. She covered her mouth, holding back tears. In the Su Family, Grandpa doted on her the most, and if he were gone, she truly didn’t know what to do.
