After telling his mom he was leaving, Xu Yun went to Gao Wenwen’s place.

He didn’t knock, just punched in the code.

Since smart locks had become common, keys were obsolete. If you wanted to give someone access, you just had to tell them the code.

Gao Wenwen was unaware when Xu Yun entered, still in the bedroom straightening her sheets.

Her hair was casually tied up in a bun, and she was wearing a white, off-the-shoulder lace dress. She was on her knees, leaning over the bed.

Seeing herself rejected again, Lin Xi began to cry. "Why are you treating me like this? How am I any worse than Gao Wenwen?

Is it because I didn’t choose you back then? Is that why you came back—to get with my best friend just to spite me?"

"Er, you’re overthinking things. Go home."

Xu Yun said flatly, "It’s the middle of the night. It’s not safe for you to be out alone."

"No, I’m not going back."

Lin Xi refused. "Don’t you want to sleep with me? Fine! I’ll do it. Let’s go get a room right now."

"Who said I wanted to sleep with you?"

Xu Yun pried her hands off him. "If you’re looking for a man to sleep with, find someone else. I’m not interested in you."

"You’re not interested in me, but you’re interested in Gao Wenwen, right?"
