"Xu Yun?"

Xu Yun and Chen Xin both froze for a moment and turned to look.

"I can’t believe it’s really you."

The woman looked at Xu Yun, then glanced at Chen Xin—a different woman than the one he was with last time—and smiled. "I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me."

Seeing that the woman was an acquaintance of Xu Yun, Chen Xin gave an awkward smile and said, "Xu Yun, you two talk. I’ll head back first."

"Okay," Xu Yun acknowledged.

Watching Chen Xin hurry away, the woman smiled meaningfully. "President Xu is never short on beautiful women."

Xu Yun looked at Liang Yan, who was dressed in a sexy gown, and smiled. "I didn’t expect to run into you here. It seems we’re really fated to meet."

Liang Yan asked, "So, how are they? Are the pastries here any good?"

As he spoke, Xu Yun casually picked one up and offered it to her. "Want to try one? I notice none of you are eating."

"Thank you."

Liang Yan swirled the cocktail in her hand. "Free booze just tastes better."

She had come today to try her luck and find someone to pull in an investment, but after approaching a few people, nothing had come of it.

Just as she was starting to feel dejected, she had unexpectedly spotted Xu Yun eating pastries.

Liang Yan was genuinely surprised.

"Well, enjoy your drink, President Liang."

Xu Yun smiled. "I’m full now, so I’m planning to slip out before the host finds me."

"Take me with you."

Liang Yan had no intention of letting him go. She said directly, "It’s not often we run into each other, and I’m finding this place a bit boring too. Why don’t we go find somewhere else to chat?"

"Alright. It would be a shame to turn down an invitation from a beautiful woman."

Xu Yun said, "My room happens to be next door. Shall we?"

"Sure." Liang Yan was no naive young girl; she felt no fear and agreed without the slightest hesitation.

A man inviting a woman to his room at night was a test in itself.

He hadn’t expected her to agree so readily.

And when Liang Yan heard that Xu Yun was staying in the adjacent hotel, her desire to work with him grew even more urgent.

Xu Yun didn’t answer. Instead, he said, "Come on, let’s go sit on the balcony. The night view is nice."

"Okay."

Liang Yan stepped onto the balcony and stared at the infinity pool before them in amazement. "I can’t believe you have a place like this. President Xu, you really know how to live."

"If you like it, you can go for a swim."

"I’ll pass. I’m not a very good swimmer. What if I accidentally..."

Liang Yan was only halfway through her sentence when she seemed to misstep, lost her balance, and fell directly into the pool.

Fortunately, the pool wasn’t deep. Liang Yan flailed in the water for a few moments, but seeing that Xu Yun had no intention of saving her, she gave up the act.
