Substitute Bride: Utterly Pampered by Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1473: Save Him

Chapter 1473: Save Him

"Morgan Ashworth, I hate you," Willow Crawford said, embarrassed and angry.

Morgan kissed her, "Well, hate me if you must, as long as you’re happy."

Willow, "..."

...

Everything came to a halt, Willow turned to lie on her side, wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, and ignored the man.

Morgan lazily leaned against the headboard, his handsome features exuded a sultry and indulgent aftertaste, his knee bent as he rested a strong wrist on it, suddenly yearning for a smoke.

It’s said that a cigarette afterwards outmatches celestial bliss.

He’d been chain-smoking recently, so he reached out for a cigarette.

But he quickly stopped because Willow was pregnant now; he simply couldn’t smoke, as he couldn’t let his son suffer the harm of secondhand smoke.

Fine then, he got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower, returning with a warm towel with which he gently wiped Willow’s hands.

Willow opened her eyes, angrily grabbing a pillow to smash it against his handsome face.

Morgan didn’t dodge; it was his mistake, and he was willing to be punished, "Willow, the doctor said pregnant women shouldn’t get angry, it’s bad for the baby."

Willow scoffed, "Well, the doctor also said we shouldn’t be intimate, why didn’t you remember that?"

Morgan raised an eyebrow, "Did we call that intimacy just now? Should I educate you on what true intimacy is?"

This shameless scoundrel! It doesn’t seem like long, yet his flirting skills have remarkably improved.

He must’ve gained enough experience from flirting with many women.

Willow was fuming, recalling the sweet voice on the phone, feeling jealousy within her. She picked up another pillow and hurled it at Morgan’s face, "Hmph, I hate you! Go be intimate with whoever you want. This princess is done catering to you!"

As those words fell, Morgan pressed his thin lips together.

The mood was tense, dropping to zero.

Willow realized she’d misspoken, biting her lower lip and lowered her gaze.

Morgan had the impulse to strangle her. What did she just say? He could be with whoever he wanted? Had she already eagerly pushed him into another woman’s bed?

If he weren’t mindful of the child she carried, he would have certainly taught her a lesson by now to make her regret.

But he feared for the child in her belly.

It’s said a mother’s status is elevated by her child, which probably explains it.

Morgan carefully cleaned her hands, "Get some rest early."

And him?

Would he be going out again tonight, not returning?

Willow didn’t voice her concern.

Morgan returned to the bathroom where he tossed the towel into the basin and began to wash it. Suddenly, something dripped in with a plink, instantly turning the clear water red.

He had a nosebleed.

Morgan reached to wipe the blood from his nose, yet it was of no use, he only caused more bleeding.

Raising his gaze at himself in the mirror, he realized his complexion was pale as a ghost.

He knew better than anyone that the poison from the Heartbreaking Grass in his system was likely acting up.

Morgan had once feared death, but now things were different, he had a wife and child, and they were just outside.

He was terrified of suddenly collapsing somewhere unseen by his wife and child.

Morgan quickly turned and hurriedly walked out, directly towards Willow.

At this moment, only Willow could provide him a sense of security.

He needed to be at Willow’s side.

The room remained silent, Willow still curled up in bed. Morgan approached, inching closer to her with each step, nearly at her side.

But a sudden wave of pain caused him to black out, he closed his eyes, and his tall, lean body instantly collapsed.

Willow hadn’t slept, afraid he might leave again tonight. So when a muffled "boom" was heard, she immediately sat up and saw Morgan collapsed a meter away from her.

Her pupils shrank, she tossed aside the blanket and flew from the bed, reaching down to cradle him, "Morgan! Honey! Honey, what’s happening to you!"

Morgan was already unconscious, unable to hear her words or give any response.

Willow’s hands and feet turned icy as she realized her worst fear had come true; the poison from Heartbreaking Grass had acted violently and swiftly, giving her no chance to breathe.

"Honey, don’t worry, I’ll save you, I promise I will save you," Willow said.

Willow went to the cabinet to retrieve her silver needles, but unfortunately, Morgan had all dangerous items cleared away, leaving her without a single needle.

Moreover, she had already failed on the third attempt to extract heart blood; her medical skills weren’t enough for a third extraction.

She must return home to seek help from her mommy.

However, Morgan wouldn’t allow her to leave, they were completely surrounded.

What’s crucial is, if she leaves, what would happen to him?

At this moment, nothing else mattered, she just wanted him to live safely and healthily, even if he ended up hating her.

Willow immediately cried out loudly, "Help, someone come quickly, Morgan Ashworth has fallen unconscious!"

The door to the room quickly swung open, many rushed in, "What’s wrong with the master, call the doctor, hurry!"

Everyone scrambled to rescue Morgan, while Willow discreetly retreated, she stole a glance at him, then turned and ran when no one was looking.

Willow ran.

...

Willow returned home, pounding on the door, "Daddy, Mommy, open the door quickly!"

The villa door promptly opened, and Hayden Crawford stepped out in his night clothes, "Willow, why are you here, what happened for you to come back so late?"

"Daddy, it’s a long story, where’s Mommy? I need to see her."

Willow entered searching for Serena Sterling, but after a few steps, her legs gave way, and she plummeted toward the carpet.

"Willow!" Hayden managed to catch his daughter, who had already fainted in his arms.

Right then, Serena hurried out, "Willow, Willow, what’s happening?"

Serena immediately checked Willow’s pulse, quickly furrowing her brows deeply, her expression turning seriously grave.

With Willow coming home seeking help in the dead of night, Hayden felt incredibly distressed as a father, he turned to Serena, "Honey, what’s wrong with Willow, why did she suddenly faint?"

Serena withdrew her hand, "Willow is pregnant."

"What?" Hayden hadn’t realized he was going to be a grandfather.

"Don’t rush to celebrate, this isn’t the right time for a child, because Willow had extracted heart blood, likely to save Morgan Ashworth."

The joy Hayden almost felt was soon doused by cold reality, staring in shock at his daughter in his arms, "Did Willow overhear our conversation?"

Serena nodded, "It must be, Willow has already extracted heart blood twice."
