Chapter 1336: The Stare-down Between Two Men

Chapter 1336: The Stare-down Between Two Men

Miles Linden looked at Willow Crawford, and Willow looked back at Miles, their eyes meeting.

"Brother-in-law, please don’t break up with Willow, she really likes you." Vivi Xavier was still explaining and pleading.

Miles hadn’t seen Willow for several days. She seemed thinner, wearing her school uniform today, with pure black hair tied in a ponytail. Her face was a bit pale, and her eyes were a moist red, like a delicate and enchanting flower that can understand words.

Miles felt a stir in his heart.

At that moment, a figure appeared beside Willow, it was Prince Rosen.

Prince Rosen raised his hand and draped a coat over Willow’s shoulders, "Willow, it’s chilly at night, don’t catch a cold."

Willow looked at Prince Rosen and curved her red lips in gratitude.

Prince Rosen stood tall beside Willow and then raised his eyes, his gaze falling on Miles.

Miles looked at Prince Rosen as well. It was the first time the two of them formally met.

Two top-notch figures, one in black and one in white, one exuding a cold and distant aura, the other warm and elegant, standing at opposite ends of the corridor, exchanging a simple glance that sparked a fierce tension.

"Brother-in-law..." Vivi’s voice cut off suddenly because she saw Willow coming over and also saw Prince Rosen.

Well... this situation seemed a bit awkward and somewhat complicated now.

Vivi personally wasn’t taking sides, but her heart leaned towards whoever Willow liked. She knew that Willow liked Miles a lot, so much so.

"Brother-in-law," Vivi softly reminded, "Look, your number one rival is here. This is Prince Rosen. Brother-in-law, you better be careful. If you keep making Willow sad, she’ll be taken away by someone else!"

Miles showed no expression, he stretched his long legs and walked towards Willow and Prince Rosen.

Vivi held her breath tightly, wondering if Brother-in-law was going to clash with Prince Rosen for Willow?

Go, Brother-in-law!

Willow watched as Miles walked towards her step by step, her eyelashes fluttering like a butterfly’s wings, revealing her inner turmoil. Since the day he broke up with her, he hadn’t appeared, though she imagined he would come back, apologize, and say all those hurtful things he said were lies.

But he disappeared for several days, ignoring her completely.

Now he was approaching again, and she wondered what he would say to her?

Willow thought that even if he apologized, she wouldn’t easily forgive him.

Miles continued walking closer and closer, and Willow’s heart began to race faster.

Thump thump thump, uncontrollably.

Finally, Miles came over.

But in the next second, he brushed past her.

Willow’s heart instantly sank to the bottom, the uncontrollable heartbeat disappearing at that moment. Turns out... he wasn’t coming towards her; he just passed by and left.

He had nothing to say to her. He already told Vivi everything he needed to say, they broke up.

Willow felt ridiculous. He did nothing, but she imagined so much, it was simply self-indulgence.

"Willow, let’s go home."

Prince Rosen reached out to hold Willow’s small hand, but quickly his fingers paused, for droplets of water fell onto his hand.

Willow cried.

Willow lowered her small head, her fair eye sockets all red, and large tears fell continuously, even staining her beautiful eyelashes with droplets, as she cried out in heartbreak.

Prince Rosen, usually so composed, showed a subtle change in his gaze. It was the first time he’d seen this little princess cry.

She cried so heartbreakingly, like a small abandoned cat or a girl who had just experienced heartbreak.

Her tears flowed for that boy named Miles Linden, freely and fiercely.

At this moment, Vivi ran over and hugged Willow tightly, "Sister Willow, why are you crying again? Don’t cry, don’t cry, it’s all that Miles’ fault. I explained it so much, yet he remained unmoved. I was so biased towards him! Sister Willow, let’s forget about him. He’s just a jerk, not worth it at all!"

...

Miles walked out of the hospital and encountered another acquaintance, Rachel Underwood.

Rachel’s eyes lit up when she saw Miles, eager to vent Willow’s anger and raise her voice,

"Oh, so our Willow is a little princess, and Prince Rosen is so handsome. He and our little princess Willow look like a match made in heaven standing together."

"Prince Rosen is particularly excellent, only loving Willow, unlike some people, complete scumbags. Now it’s known, our Princess Willow’s noble status is way beyond reach for certain people, so stay far away from our Princess Willow and watch how happy and sweet the princess and the prince’s life together is."

Rachel seized the opportunity to mock and ridicule thoroughly. She looked at Miles, expecting to see shock, regret, and shame on his face.

But she was disappointed, because Miles seemed not to hear, walking away expressionless.

"Miles, you!" Rachel stamped her foot in anger.

Miles reached the street, slowly stopping his steps, no longer able to suppress the bitter taste in his chest. A line of fresh blood trickled from the corner of his lips.

He closed his eyes, his mind replaying the scene of her and Prince Rosen standing together, the union of the princess and the prince stabbing him deeply.

Just then, he heard footsteps behind him, very light, but Miles heard them.

Miles reached out, wiping the bloodstain at the corner of his lips with the back of his hand, then turned around. Prince Rosen had arrived.

Miles was not at all surprised, "You’re here?"

Prince Rosen nodded warmly, "You already figured I would come looking for you?"

"Since the one Willow Crawford, your future princess, likes, you would certainly come."

"Are you so sure Willow likes you?"

"Your coming is proof enough, isn’t it?"

Prince Rosen faintly curved his lips. His gaze always so warm, but upon careful thought, it revealed a deep and sharp something buried within, quite like Miles in that regard.

Though different, Prince Rosen and Miles were, in a sense, similar individuals.

Both wise, shrewd, and adept at... playing with people’s hearts.

"Morgan Ashworth, I’ve long admired you. Courtesy now, hostility later, don’t expect any courtesy moving forward," Prince Rosen smiled.

This battle had already begun at this moment. Miles raised an eyebrow, "Then I look forward to it."

After speaking, Miles left.

At this moment, his subordinate emerged, speaking softly, "Prince, it seems Princess Willow really likes Morgan Ashworth."

Prince Rosen quietly watched Miles’ departing figure, then said, "You’ve only seen Willow likes Morgan Ashworth, but missed something else."

"Something else? What is the prince referring to?"

Prince Rosen remarked with deep meaning, "Morgan Ashworth also likes Willow, doesn’t he?"
