Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time

Chapter 978: Ability To Control Bodies

Chapter 978: Ability To Control Bodies

The memories unfolded gradually and Han Yu’s expression changed as he realized that the technique was deeper than he expected.

His soul could leave his body, move unseen, touch objects, and phase through matter. All that he already discovered. But then came the final part which left him stunned.

Han Yu stared blankly.

"...Take over bodies?"

He reread the memory.

Again.

And again.

The meaning remained unchanged.

His soul could enter another vessel and possess it. Learning this, Han Yu became stunned. Most so because the memory stated that this ability had no hard limits.

Nothing about realm restrictions.

Nothing about duration.

Only vague indications that success depended on cultivation and control.

Han Yu immediately wanted to test it.

Of course... He was not insane enough to use a living person.

Not yet.

He had no idea what the consequences would be. Fortunately he possessed an absurd number of corpses. Han Yu went to storage and picked a simple mortal corpse.

It had been preserved well.

No cultivation.

No abnormalities.

Perfect test subject.

He sat before it as his soul emerged before carefully entering the corpses. The transition happened instantly and a moment later Han Yu opened his eyes.

Except... They were not his eyes.

He looked down and saw his new appearance.

Dead hands.

Pale skin.

Mortal body.

"Huh..."

He moved his fingers slowly. The sensation was strange and less comfortable than his own body. It was stiff and heavy, yet functional.

Han Yu stood up and the first step almost made him fall. But then he steadied himself. The second went better and soon he walked normally. After that he spent nearly an hour adapting.

By the end he moved almost naturally.

Han Yu looked at himself. Or rather at his real body sitting nearby.

"This is ridiculous..."

He laughed softly.

Then another thought appeared.

Soul Skills.

Would they work?

Han Yu immediately tried.

Soul Needle.

The skill activated instantly and a needle shot out of his fingers.

He tested other skills too and they worked well, but then he wondered if the last skill would work too as it changed his eyes.

Han Yu became excited and activated Soul Petrifying Glare.

His eyes shifted showing that the skill still functioned.

Han Yu froze.

The implications hit immediately.

He did not need his body.

His abilities followed the soul.

That meant he could infiltrate.

Spy.

Ambush.

Replace.

Move unseen.

Han Yu’s thoughts accelerated as he looked at the corpse body beneath him, then at his real body.

Then at the rows of corpses stored nearby.

His eyes slowly widened.

"...Wait."

A terrifying idea appeared.

He controlled Jiangshi.

His soul could possess corpses.

Could he... Han Yu immediately looked toward the storage hall.

Hundreds of bodies rested there.

Different physiques.

Different strengths.

Different uses.

For the first time since learning Soul Projection...

Han Yu felt genuine excitement.

Because if his guess worked... He would no longer be limited to one body.

Han Yu threw himself fully into experimentation.

The moment he realized Soul Projection allowed him to occupy corpses, the old curiosity that always drove him surfaced again. For an entire month he almost disappeared from the outside world. Other than handling the absolute minimum of matters related to the peak, nearly all of his time was spent in his underground laboratories and corpse storage halls.

Meng Jueyan noticed it too.

The first few days she merely delivered reports.

The second week she stopped asking him if he wanted meals because he always forgot them. By the third week she had simply started leaving food outside the laboratory entrance and taking away the untouched dishes later.

Han Yu himself barely noticed.

He was too busy.

The first corpses he tested were simple Qi cultivators. Most had been gathered over the years through purchases, missions, experiments and battlefield recoveries. Their cultivation varied greatly. Some were mere Qi Refining realm disciples while others had reached Core Formation before death.

Han Yu occupied them one after another.

The results quickly became interesting.

A Qi Refining disciple moved almost like a living person. Han Yu could use the body immediately. The corpse still had traces of spirit Qi remaining within its meridians but it was faint and stagnant.

He tried circulating it.

The corpse obeyed.

Slowly.

Painfully slowly.

Han Yu frowned.

"This efficiency is terrible."

The body lacked vitality.

Spirit Qi naturally leaked after death and most corpses only retained remnants. If he wanted to use their cultivation bases he would first need to refill them manually.

He tested it.

Han Yu injected fresh Qi into the corpse.

The results improved.

The body regained function.

Qi techniques worked.

Partially.

That was when he hit the next problem.

The corpse knew nothing.

The cultivator might have possessed dozens of techniques in life but Han Yu could not use any of them. He stood there inside the body for several minutes trying.

Nothing.

No memories.

No comprehension.

No instincts.

Only empty flesh.

Han Yu exited the corpse and wrote notes.

Technique inheritance through body possession impossible.

Memories absent.

Qi systems preserved.

Skill systems absent.

Then he moved to body cultivators. The difference stunned him. Body cultivator corpses were excellent. Their strength remained and their Muscle memory lingered. Physical enhancement stayed intact because their cultivation transformed the flesh itself.

Han Yu possessed one corpse belonging to a First Stage Five Treasures Realm cultivator and immediately punched a stone wall.

BOOM!

The wall cracked.

Han Yu looked at his fist.

The body had retained all its power.

He grinned.

"These are much better."

Over the following days he expanded the experiments.

Poison cultivators.

Blood cultivators.

Body refinement corpses.

Special physiques.

Everything.

Soon patterns emerged.

Transformative techniques remained and conventional techniques vanished.

One corpse had cultivated Venom Claw.

The hands were dark green even after death.

Han Yu occupied it.

He scratched a stone slab.

The stone hissed and melted.

Han Yu raised his brows.

The poisonous properties remained because the body itself had changed.

The skill existed in flesh.

Not memory.

This became one of the biggest discoveries.
