Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time

Chapter 937: Rat Of Exceptional Circumference And A Harem

Chapter 937: Rat Of Exceptional Circumference And A Harem

Only after ensuring everything was stable did Han Yu finally decide it was time to leave.

Though before departing...

There was one final matter he needed to handle.

Han Yu closed his eyes briefly and reached out mentally through one of the oldest connections he possessed.

"Chitterfang," he called mentally.

"Where are you?"

For a few moments nothing happened.

Then...

Roughly five minutes later, something waddled out from a side corridor connected to the inner sections of his palace.

Han Yu slowly opened his eyes.

"This rat..."

Then sighed deeply.

Because what appeared before him barely resembled the lean spirit rat he once knew.

Chitterfang had become enormous.

Not large in the terrifying beast sense.

Just...

Round.

Absurdly round.

The creature now resembled a giant fuzzy ball with tiny limbs attached underneath it. His originally grey fur had changed dramatically over the years due to constant exposure to Blood Qi and various spirit resources it consume.

Now nearly half his body was covered in thick dark red fur while the remaining sections stayed silver grey.

The colors mixed together strangely well.

His cheeks had become puffed up.

His belly dragged slightly when he walked.

And his tail looked thicker than ever before.

Han Yu stared silently at the creature for several moments.

Chitterfang happily squeaked before immediately waddling toward him with surprising speed despite his shape. The giant rat rubbed affectionately against Han Yu’s leg before attempting to climb into his robes like he used to years ago.

Unfortunately...

He was now the size of an overweight cat!

Han Yu immediately grabbed him halfway through the climb and lowered him back onto the ground.

"You are too fat to keep hiding inside my clothes," Han Yu said flatly.

Chitterfang immediately let out a wounded squeak.

The rat even puffed up his cheeks indignantly.

"I am not fat," he protested mentally. "I am prosperous."

Han Yu stared at him expressionlessly.

"You have folds."

"That is strategic energy storage."

"You cannot even jump properly anymore."

"I can absolutely jump."

To prove his point, Chitterfang attempted a leap onto a nearby chair.

He missed entirely.

The rat bounced off the side dramatically before rolling onto the floor in a puff of red and grey fur.

Meng Jueyan silently turned her face away.

Han Yu could tell she was trying extremely hard not to laugh.

Chitterfang immediately stood back up proudly as if nothing happened.

Han Yu pinched the bridge of his nose.

"How exactly did you become this large?"

Chitterfang puffed out his chest proudly.

"How else am I supposed to continue creating a loyal force for Master?"

The rat spoke with complete confidence.

"I require energy. Tremendous energy. Great responsibility demands great nutrition."

Han Yu almost regretted teaching the rat too many phrases over the years.

"You are using reproduction as an excuse for overeating."

"That is slander."

Han Yu simply stared.

Chitterfang finally lowered his voice slightly.

"...Maybe slightly."

Truthfully speaking...

The rat had indeed been extremely busy over the last decade.

Han Yu’s intelligence network no longer relied solely upon Jiangshi.

Chitterfang himself had expanded into an entirely separate branch of surveillance and covert operations.

And frighteningly enough... It worked remarkably well.

The rat’s descendants numbered in the tens of thousands now.

Perhaps even more.

Han Yu himself had stopped counting years ago.

And those descendants had descendants of their own.

Entire bloodlines of enhanced rodents now spread across various regions surrounding the sect and beyond.

Though unlike ordinary beasts corrupted heavily by Blood Qi, Chitterfang’s descendants possessed unusually high intelligence thanks to the evolution of his bloodline.

Many had reached the level of spirit rats from the Twin Leaf Peak Sect.

Some were even smarter.

And Chitterfang...

Had fully embraced his role as patriarch of a furry underground empire.

Han Yu still remembered the first time he accidentally discovered the scale of the rat’s "harem."

It had genuinely stunned him.

Entire underground tunnels beneath one of the warehouse districts had been transformed into organized nesting territories populated by countless female rodent beasts.

There were sleek black tunnel rats.

Red eyed blood burrowers.

Spirit grain mice.

Shadow whisker rats.

And even several mutated beast rats from the Blood Continent whose appearances bordered on horrifying.

Yet Chitterfang apparently accepted all equally.

The rat possessed absolutely no discrimination in romance.

Han Yu had once watched Chitterfang proudly introducing several of his "wives" with the confidence of a wealthy nobleman showing off mansions.

The experience nearly gave Han Yu a headache.

And somehow...

The females genuinely adored him.

Han Yu still did not understand it.

Perhaps spirit beasts simply had different standards.

Or perhaps Chitterfang’s intelligence and bloodline made him incredibly attractive among rodents.

Whatever the reason...

The result became terrifyingly effective.

The rat network spread everywhere.

Unlike Jiangshi, rats attracted little attention naturally.

They moved through cities easily.

Slipped beneath walls.

Entered storage halls.

Crossed wilderness areas.

Listened unnoticed.

A few thousand specially trained rats now worked directly under Qing Luan’s hidden organization too.

They delivered messages.

Carried mini storage treasures.

Spied on targets.

Stole documents.

Sabotaged supplies.

Some even specialized in chewing through specific formation materials quietly.

Han Yu had once received an intelligence report delivered through three separate rat relays spanning hundreds of kilometers.

The system genuinely worked.

Though looking at Chitterfang now...

Han Yu wondered whether the rat network’s expansion had perhaps become too successful.

"You truly need to exercise more," Han Yu muttered.

Chitterfang immediately became defensive.

"Master does not understand leadership burdens."

Han Yu snorted lightly.

"What burdens?"

"Maintaining harmony among the harem."

Meng Jueyan finally failed holding back and quietly laughed.

Chitterfang continued proudly.

"There are territorial disputes. Food disputes. Nest disputes. Then the children require guidance. Some inherit excellent instincts. Others are idiots. No... most are idiots."

Han Yu suddenly felt unexpectedly sympathetic.

The rat sighed dramatically.

"One of my sons attempted infiltrating a treasury by chewing through a spirit explosive."

"...What happened?"

"He exploded."

Han Yu stared silently.

Chitterfang looked genuinely disappointed.

"He had potential too."

Han Yu finally understood why the rat had become exhausted enough to grow this fat.

Managing tens of thousands of descendants apparently carried its own strange pressures.

Still...

The effectiveness of the network could not be denied.

And now Han Yu intended to bring Chitterfang along for the northeastern mission too.

Because if strange things truly lurked there...

Having both Jiangshi shadows and the rat network available would greatly improve his chances of uncovering the truth.
