Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 337: Already Dead

Chapter 337: Already Dead

"I will go check on Caleb and the others. You go make sure Sheila is okay. They teleported people all around, so it is difficult to say who is where," Amy said.

Stanley nodded.

"Take care," Amy said and suddenly jumped down from the side of the railing, free-falling.

Stanley hurriedly looked over to the side, horrified at the thought of her plummeting into the lava. However, halfway through the fall, she simply slowed down and moved sideways, into one of the floors.

’The fuck?’ Stanley couldn’t help but think with a confused look. ’How the hell can she fly too?’

Amy’s situation got him more and more confused every time he saw her. He had thought her brother was fascinating, but the sister was even more so than that.

’The hell is up with these siblings?’

* * * * * *

Amy landed on the floor with the analysts and found herself surrounded by two people on each side. They instantly brought out their guns and shot at her, but Amy simply dodged those bullets, almost as though she could see those attacks.

She made her way through the attacks, frowning at the people that shot her. Something was wrong with these people.

She moved up to one of them and punched. Immediately, the man exploded into mist, even his bones blown to smithereens.

"The hell?" Amy couldn’t help but say out loud. Not only could she attack someone in the first place, she could now kill as well.

How the hell could she kill someone at all?

She flicked away one of the bullets coming in her direction and slowly moved toward the other man. Her hands ripped their way through the shield, not hurting her one bit.

As she wrapped her hand around the woman’s neck this time, she knew for certain that something was not right. As she slowly crushed the woman’s neck and killed her entirely, she understood the situation.

"I see," she said softly. "They’re already dead."

That was why she was able to kill them at all.

"Zombies," she murmured.

These were a bit more than just the regular zombies she had seen in her lifetime though. Those ones usually didn’t have any more thoughts than just human flesh.

These ones though were seemingly somewhat intelligent.

’It’s almost as if their souls have been taken away, replaced by some rudimentary spirits, barely intelligent enough to follow commands,’ she thought. But then, who was giving any commands at all?

’Is this something natural or the job of a necromancer?’ Amy wondered as she quickly dispatched the remaining two zombies and made her way to the office. As she made her way there, she noticed that the door was blown open from the inside.

She rushed, running inside to come onto a scene of horror. Zombies walked thoughtlessly all around, some people she did not recognize, some clearly wearing the AAA’s uniform.

’A virus?’ she wondered at first.

Her eyes moved to the side of one of the dead bodies, with its upper half completely gone, only the lower half with pants remaining at all.

She looked in front of that body and saw the Director. She rushed to him immediately and landed next to him.

The director thoughtlessly pointed his amputated arm toward her, the blade inside of it extending to reach her neck. But even when it struck her, it did nothing.

Amy slowly moved the blade aside. "Don’t worry, it’s me," she said. "Are you alright?"

"Miss... miss Amy," the man asked, his eyes wide with shock. He closed his eyes immediately and screamed, lifting his hand up.

Amy looked at the amputated limb with the metal attachment in it that was now glowing red. She grabbed onto it and realized that it was burning hot, and the heat was toasting the connected flesh. The burn mark was crawling up his arm.

"Noo!" the director shouted, the blade retracted back into the hand and it glowed red hot on the inside as the director pointed toward her, ready to shoot.

Amy realized at that moment that the director wasn’t thinking straight. ’He’s delirious with pain,’ she thought and quickly plunged her hand into the front of the red hot hole and pulled out some component from the inside, including a glowing red core of plasmium.

She looked at the plasmium, halfway empty with energy, and tossed it aside. She looked around at that time, trying to see if Caleb had unfortunately died as well.

"Director! Director!" she shook him awake. She snapped her fingers in front of him to catch his attention. "Are you okay? Look at me. Can you hear me?"

The man slowly came and looked at her. "Miss... miss Amy. Is that really you?" he asked.

"Yes, it’s me," Amy said. "Where is Caleb? I need him."

"Caleb... Caleb..." the man tried to remember. "He’s gone... to the lower floor. Fixing... power."

"He’s already gone?" She asked. "I’ll go to him too."

"No!" the Director shouted at that moment. "Danger. Him."

He slowly pointed with his other hand at something. Amy followed the finger and saw a man with his face slowly growing bones and muscles, along with eyes and hair.

Amy looked at the rest of his body. The lower half was clothed, but the upper half was not. ’That’s... that’s the same man with his torso blown away, isn’t he? How is he healing?’ she wondered.

"Nova..." the Director said. "The Life Nova."

Amy turned to look at the man as he slowly grew out his face fully, dark beard and mustache growing to fill it completely.

"My, who do we have here?" the man asked, looking at Amy.

Amy frowned. "Life Nova?" she asked slowly, looking around at the zombified humans that filled the room. "Did you do that to them?"

The middle-aged man smiled slowly. "I haven’t seen a beauty like you in all my life. I would love to have you in my collection."

Amy frowned. "Director, if you can get up and walk, we need to leave right now."
