Chapter 382 381: The Last Resistance (part 2)
Chapter 382 381: The Last Resistance (part 2)
A massive surge of blue-white electricity exploded outward from him, forcing nearby monster soldiers backward.
The First Spear rose into the air, his aura erupting violently.
Cracks of lightning spread across the cavern ceiling like spiderwebs.
[Tier 6 Skill: Thunder Dominion]
The entire battlefield brightened blue.
Bolts of lightning crashed downward continuously, vaporizing dozens of charging monsters instantly.
Jheven stretched one hand forward.
"Tier 6: Skybreaker Lance!"
A gigantic spear of condensed lightning formed above him before crashing downward toward Grathum.
The impact detonated like a natural disaster.
BOOOOOOM!
The cavern shook violently.
Electricity exploded everywhere.
For a moment, visibility disappeared completely.
Then a massive figure slowly walked out from the smoke.
Grathum.
Completely unharmed.
Molten lava dripped from his shoulders as he grinned, revealing rows of jagged teeth.
"That tickled."
He slammed his hammer downward.
[Tier 6 Skill: Volcanic Rupture]
The ground exploded.
Entire sections of the cavern floor erupted upward as magma burst from beneath the stone. Hundreds of cultivators were swallowed instantly, their screams vanishing into molten fire.
Resna moved next.
Her body flashed forward with incredible speed.
Water element energy spiraled around her blade.
[Tier 6 Skill: Tidal Severance]
A crescent wave sharp enough to split mountains slashed toward Grathum's neck.
At the same moment, Orara unleashed his own attack.
Golden flames erupted from both his hands.
[Tier 6 Skill: Solar Collapse]
A burning sphere of compressed fire crashed toward the troll from the opposite side.
The two attacks struck simultaneously.
BOOOOM!
Fire and water exploded together violently.
For the first time, Grathum took a step backward.
The troll laughed loudly.
"GOOD!"
He swung his hammer sideways.
The air exploded.
Resna barely raised her blade in time before the impact blasted her through three stone pillars.
Blood sprayed from her mouth as she crashed into the wall.
"Fifth Spear!" someone shouted.
Meanwhile above the battlefield, Virela descended.
The storm followed her.
Wind pressure crushed entire sections of the cavern as the massive Sky Serpent folded her wings slightly.
Her glowing eyes scanned the battlefield coldly.
Then she attacked.
[Tier 6 Skill: Heavenrend Tempest]
The atmosphere screamed.
Invisible blades of compressed wind descended from above like divine punishment.
Entire armies were shredded apart instantly.
Stone pillars collapsed.
Blood filled the air.
The Fourth Spear roared and leapt upward.
Earth element energy exploded around him.
[Tier 6 Skill: Mountain King's Bastion]
Massive stone walls rose rapidly, shielding thousands of retreating civilians from the storm blades.
BOOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOM!
The barriers shattered one after another under Virela's assault.
The Fourth Spear coughed blood but continued reinforcing the walls desperately.
Then suddenly...
Orara's eyes widened.
"BEHIND YOU!"
Too late.
Space twisted strangely behind the Sixth Spear.
A massive black claw emerged silently from empty air.
SCHHK!
The claw pierced straight through the Sixth Spear's chest.
The man's body froze.
Blood poured from his mouth.
Behind him appeared glowing violet eyes within the darkness.
Zurrak.
The Void Warg barely made a sound as he ripped the Sixth Spear apart like paper.
The surrounding cultivators screamed in terror.
"Monster!"
"Protect the Spears!"
Zurrak vanished again.
Instantly.
Like he was never there.
Only shredded flesh remained.
Orara's breathing became uneven.
"We can't win this..."
Jheven heard him.
But the First Spear's eyes remained locked on the battlefield.
Lightning exploded wildly around him as he raised both hands toward the sky.
His aura climbed higher and higher.
The cavern ceiling began breaking apart from the pressure alone.
"Everyone get down!" Resna shouted hoarsely.
Jheven's strongest skill activated.
[Tier 6 Skill: Judgment of the Thousand Heavens]
The entire mountain lit up blue.
A colossal lightning formation appeared above the battlefield, covering everything.
Then it descended.
Thousands of divine lightning bolts rained down simultaneously.
The world became pure white. Monsters vaporized instantly. The cavern collapsed in dozens of places. Even Grathum stopped smiling.
The gigantic troll crossed both arms as the lightning storm swallowed him whole.
Virela soared upward to avoid the destruction while storms clashed violently against the heavenly lightning.
For several seconds...
The battlefield disappeared entirely beneath endless thunder.
Then slowly...
The light faded.
Jheven floated there breathing heavily, blood running from his nose.
Half the battlefield had been erased.
Monster corpses covered the ground.
The surviving cultivators stared upward in shock.
Hope flickered briefly across their faces.
Then...
A deep laugh echoed through the smoke.
Heavy footsteps followed.
Grathum walked out again. Burned, injured, but alive.
Above him, Virela circled once more through the shattered ceiling.
And behind Jheven...
Space cracked open silently.
Zurrak's glowing eyes appeared once again.
The First Spear slowly realized the truth.
Even his strongest attack...
Had not been enough.
-----
The battlefield no longer felt like a battlefield.
It felt like a grave that hadn't finished closing yet.
Smoke rolled through the shattered cavern, mixing with the stench of burned flesh and molten stone. Every breath tasted like ash. Every sound came late, as if the world itself was struggling to keep up with what was happening.
And still… the monsters kept moving.
Ruva stood at the center of a broken platform of stone, her small frame steady despite the chaos around her. She looked young, barely seventeen, but her eyes were sharp in a way that didn't match her age.
Wind coiled around her like a living thing.
Sorin and Karnessa stood slightly behind her, one on each side, like shadows refusing to leave her.
Sorin exhaled slowly, rolling her shoulders as gusts of wind gathered around her arms.
"Stay close to her," Sorin said, her voice calm but firm.
Karnessa didn't answer right away.
She was watching the battlefield with quiet focus, her dark eyes tracking every movement. A faint smile tugged at her lips, though it didn't carry warmth.
"I don't need reminders," Karnessa finally said.
Then she lifted one hand slightly.
The air around a collapsing group of human cultivators suddenly shifted.
Red lines appeared.
Not drawn, not cast, but pulled.
Their blood reacted before their bodies even understood what was happening.
Karnessa's fingers curled.
"Tier 5: Blood Rite, Severance."
The soldiers froze.
Then their own blood betrayed them.
It erupted outward in thin, controlled threads, snapping like invisible wires. Dozens of bodies dropped at once without even a scream, as if their life force had simply been unplugged.
Sorin stepped forward.
A sharp gust exploded outward from her feet, flattening incoming arrows mid-air before they even reached Ruva.
Her hands lifted slightly.
Wind gathered.
Then condensed.
[Tier 5: Spiral Break]
A rotating blade of air shot forward, tearing through a charging group of human soldiers. Their armor didn't even slow it down. Bodies were lifted, twisted, and thrown aside like broken puppets.
Sorin didn't look at them twice.
Her attention stayed on Ruva.
"You good?" she asked.
Ruva nodded once.
"I can handle it, big sister."
Her voice was quiet, but steady.
Then she moved.
Wind erupted from beneath her feet as she shot forward, her body almost vanishing into the air currents. A Tier 5 aura burst outward around her, dense and sharp.
[Tier 5: Ninefold Trace.]
She reappeared in the middle of a formation of human cultivators.
For a split second, they didn't even realize she was there.
Then the air around her tightened.
Ruva's hand lifted slightly.
[Tier 5: Compression.]
The wind obeyed instantly.
It collapsed inward.
The space around the enemies shrank violently, crushing them from all sides. Bones snapped. Armor bent inward. Even screams were cut short as sound itself was compressed.
When the wind released again, nothing remained standing.
