Chapter 211 211: Western Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Miao Medicine!

Chapter 211 211: Western Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Miao Medicine!

Xiong Ruru certainly does not live at Xue Xiangdi's place.

Xue Xiangdi cohabitates with her boyfriend.

Xiong Ruru lives on another street.

But why did Chen Xiao investigate Xiong Ruru's affairs at Xue Xiangdi's residence?

Because black market clinics are really abundant in this era!

As long as you have enough money, they can even brand themselves as international renowned doctors!

Look at the myriad of banners hanging in small clinics.

Moreover, certain surgeries are not suitable to be performed near one's residence.

So inquiring about Xiong Ruru at Xue Xiangdi's place is most appropriate.

Liu Dayou just followed them through a door.

Xiaoji Knife Man and Xiaoji asked, "Brother, why not let us perform the act?"

"Dayou looks older, so he's more anxious. And young people are hard to offend; if it goes wrong, smashing his clinic isn't worth it."

Xiaoji Knife Man responded, and not long after, Liu Dayou emerged.

He was grateful towards the doctor, but his face changed when he faced Chen Xiao and the others.

"Damn it, greedy bastard! Haven't even seen me, and asked for seven to eight thousand straight away. Insane!"

While speaking, they had already come out.

Chen Xiao said, "So it's confirmed he can do it here, right?"

"Yes, I insisted on seeing the operating room, and he eventually agreed. But not seeing is fine, once you see, anyone lying on that operating table is courting death!"

"We can't manage that; let's just do our part properly."

Chen Xiao said, then asked again, "Is the doctor a local?"

"Yes, while talking he slipped into local dialect, and his Mandarin isn't perfect."

"Okay, did you ask how many years he's been a doctor?"

"He says he's been doing it for over ten years, and mentioned his family all live here. I wanted to ask about Xiong Ruru and Xue Xiangdi but feared arousing his suspicion."

Chen Xiao nodded, "Alright, let's go to the next place, it appears to be a Western medicine clinic too?"

"Yes."

"Then let's proceed as before."

Chen Xiao said, and they proceeded to the next clinic.

When Liu Dayou again emerged from the clinic, the situation was similar.

Soon they reached a traditional Chinese medicine clinic. Since it didn't involve surgery and could encounter a genuinely skilled doctor, Chen Xiao decided to go himself.

Entering the clinic, Chen Xiao sat before the old doctor.

The doctor, with white hair and beard, gently asked, "Young man, feeling unwell anywhere?"

"Nothing too uncomfortable, sir, just curious about my body's condition. Heard that TCM pulse diagnosis can reveal the whole body's state, so I thought I'd give it a try and treat it as a check-up!"

The old doctor smiled and nodded, "Not that mystical, but whether you have a disease or not can be detected somewhat. Sit down, let me take a look."

Chen Xiao sat down and extended his hand. The old man initially closed his eyes briefly, but soon his gaze abruptly opened.

The sudden action startled Chen Xiao slightly, "Sir, what did you detect?"

"Young man, your body seems fine, but… but…"

"But what?"

"I can't make sense of your pulse."

Chen Xiao chuckled, "I'm a living person sitting here, how could you not understand?"

"I told you your body's fine, and it's exceptionally good. That's a good thing, but in all my years practicing, I've never encountered such a perfect young man in his twenties!"

Upon hearing this, Chen Xiao felt the older doctor definitely had skills!

Chen Xiao's body had been repeatedly invisibly enhanced by the calendar.

If he's not perfect, who is!

Feeling pleased inside, Chen Xiao smiled after the examination and said, "Sir, could I get your number? In case my elders have issues, I'd like to contact you."

The old doctor didn't mind, "You're an out-of-town worker, aren't you? Young man, you're quite filial. Here's my number, keep it safe and get in touch anytime."

"Great, thank you, doctor!"

Saying that, Chen Xiao left the TCM clinic.

Seeing the bustling scene inside the clinic, Chen Xiao said to Xiaoji and the others, "Is the next place another TCM clinic?"

"Yes, Brother Chen."

"Alright, I'll head over then!"

In good spirits, Chen Xiao continued to the next place, Jiang Anguang TCM Clinic.

Once inside, using the same reason; the difference was the doctor was a more pompous-looking middle-aged man, sporting a long beard which gave him quite an air.

But after feeling Chen Xiao's pulse, the doctor frowned, "Young man, your kidney deficiency is severe!"

Chen Xiao was immediately amused.

"Really? I don't feel it!"

"If you could feel it, you'd be a doctor, wouldn't you? But don't worry, I have a prescription here, grab a few doses and you'll notice the change!"

"Hehe, I don't think it's necessary."

"Don't rush. On this street, everybody trusts me, Jiang Anguang! Young man, don't ignore your illness!"

Chen Xiao didn't respond and turned to leave.

After exiting, Xiaoji saw his dark expression and asked, "Brother, encountered a quack?"

"Chinese medicine is ruined by people like him!"

Chen Xiao complained irritably, and Xiaoji sheepishly laughed, "So, did you learn anything?"

Chen Xiao shook his head, "No, analyzing the case, the murderer doesn't strike me as a greedy or entirely easygoing figure. The murderer gives off an impression of some depth, with a ruthless method, someone who doesn't tolerate sloppiness in their actions."

"Yet, before committing the crime, they probably were very easygoing and friendly. The doctors I encountered are in two extremes. One, though old, is willing to help without regard for compensation, while the other is insatiably greedy, diagnosing illnesses in anyone who comes in, even without any."

"Most importantly, the murderer now gives me a sense of profound loneliness, even a sense of dead silence!"

Xiaoji seemed half-understanding, "The next place is the Miao Medical Clinic, on another street."

"Alright, let's go check it out."

Chen Xiao returned to the car, Xiaoji drove to the entrance of the Miao Medical Clinic and parked.

Upon getting out of the car, Chen Xiao decided to go in himself.

However, upon entering the clinic, the atmosphere inside immediately arrested Chen Xiao's gaze.

Even though there was a strong herbal scent, he couldn't help but mentally remark, "So quiet!"

Chen Xiao called into the Miao Medical Clinic, "Hello, is anyone here?"

"I've been standing here all along, haven't you seen me?"

Chen Xiao followed the voice and realized there was a side door next to the herb cabinet.

The side door was open, but without lights on and no sunlight, Chen Xiao didn't notice someone standing there.

The woman appeared to be in her forties, not tall.

She wasn't wearing ethnic clothing, just regular attire.

Her black hair was let loose down her back, her expression looking apathetic.

There wasn't the usual greeting for a patient, nor the enthusiasm for a guest's arrival.

Chen Xiao grinned slightly, "Hello, I've come to see a doctor."

"Were you referred by someone?"

"No, always feeling uncomfortable, both TCM and Western Medicine showed no improvement, so seeing this Miao Medical Clinic, I thought I'd come in." Chen Xiao gave a reason.

"There's a chair behind you, sit there and wait for me."

The woman said something and fiddled with something at the counter, then walked over to Chen Xiao.

She observed Chen Xiao with her eyes for a while, then wrinkled her brows and came close to sniff him.

Chen Xiao didn't understand Miao medicine much, but he didn't move carelessly; the woman even asked him to open his mouth.

After taking Chen Xiao's pulse, the woman frowned and spoke, "Are you joking with me?"
