Chapter 26

Chapter 26. Celestial Observation — Breaking the Theorem!

“...Y-you’re going to recreate the Magic Pathways!?”

Cidy spoke in shock, her brows furrowing warily as she stared at Yan.

He was the one who had erased the Magic Pathways in the first place—there’s no way he’d be foolish enough to bring them back, right?

Even though restoring the Magic Pathways meant both of them could once again use magic—

When it came to magical knowledge, experience, and mastery—without question, Cidy could utterly overwhelm Yan.

There was no logical reason for him to give up the huge advantage he had built, where neither side could use magic.

“—Magic…” Yan slowly uttered two syllables.

“!!?”

Cidy’s eyes widened sharply. Just from hearing those two opening sounds, she froze.

‘No way… don’t tell me he’s actually—’

“…Circuits!”

At last—

Just as Cidy was convinced her suspicion was about to come true—

“Eh…?”

What reached her ears instead were two utterly unfamiliar syllables.

The moment Yan finished speaking that word, the entire world fell silent.

…Like the calm before a storm, a long-lost feeling of dread fluttered in Cidy’s chest.

The last time she had felt something like this… was when Yan had materialized that “Hydrogen Bomb,” the storm of light.

Her pupils tightened slightly.

Time did not stop for her confusion.

The word was being parsed—its meaning drawn from Yan’s mind—and based on the principle of that “Magic Circuit” he envisioned, the world began to reconstruct it.

And in the next instant—BOOM!!!

Like thunder tearing through the heavens, arcs of lightning flashed across the skies and the ground. For a single moment, the entire world seemed transformed.

“W-what’s happening!?” Giselle and Restia both gasped, eyes wide.

Even they had seen that blinding light.

Something that did not exist had been spoken—and thus, it was brought into being.

Exactly so—!

In Cidy’s bewildered gaze, streaks of blue-white electricity began to dance and shimmer across the boundless desert.

“Ah!”

As the power of words took form—like law itself, like divine speech—each word became a rule, a redefinition of the world.

Countless glowing blue patterns, like intricate circuit boards, spread throughout their bodies.

Soon, even their skin was covered in shining, luminous lines.

“Wh-What is this!?” Cidy gasped in pain, her voice trembling.

It felt as though steel rods were being forced into her flesh.

Something hot—scorching—was flooding into her body!

Yan, suffering the same pain, said nothing.

He simply waited quietly for it to subside—and when it did, he felt the familiar surge of mana filling him once again.

A faint grin curved his lips.

‘As I thought, it can be materialized!’

“To treat the entire world as one unified whole…”

Yan finally spoke, his voice low and mysterious, calm yet filled with quiet confidence.

And now—

Without a doubt, he had just obtained the trump card that governed the very law of victory.

“…And beyond that whole lies an endless sea of other worlds—vast and countless as the stars themselves. That is the foundation upon which the people of another world wield their Mystery.”

His tone was warm and gentle, like a friendly neighbor’s voice—but every word he spoke dropped into Cidy’s heart like pebbles, sending ripples through her mind.

“Another world… the foundation of Mystery!?” Cidy took a sharp breath, looking at Yan with disbelief.

“That’s right—the definition is this: Magic Circuit!”

Boom!

As Yan spoke those final words, in Cidy’s vision, it was as though the invisible veil separating worlds was shattered in half.

On the other side of the fractured mirror—another world bloomed, equally vivid and radiant!

Cidy’s ice-blue eyes went wide in awe.

She recalled each word Yan had just pronounced—how he had clearly, logically described the essence of that “thing.”

“A… a new mana source! Is this a new source of magic!? That’s impossible!” the girl stammered, her face painted with disbelief.

Her entire body trembled, utterly stunned.

Even when she first heard of the forty thousand books from another world, she had never been half as shocked as she was now.

—Impossible. Absolutely impossible!

This was absurd beyond reason!!

There had been instances of knowledge from other worlds before—

But those only differed because of civilization’s direction of development.

No matter what, the fundamental principle behind a mage’s use of mystery was never supposed to change!

In other words, so long as one was human, one must possess Magic Pathways; and to use magic, one must channel it through those Magic Pathways.

It was like how humans must eat and drink, how apples always fall downward.

It was something fundamental—unchangeable.

And yet now, Yan’s words had shattered her understanding—broken that immutable law.

As she felt the resplendent, intoxicating beauty of the mystery flowing within her, that radiant blue glow captivated even this Seventh-Tier Saint Magus beyond resistance.

Though her mind quivered in disbelief, though her long-held knowledge screamed that such a thing as Magic Circuits could not exist—she couldn’t stop herself from gazing at those glowing lines within.

Her eyes refused to look away from the brilliant circuit-like tracings glowing beneath her skin.

Wait—! Could something this beautiful really be an illusion!?

Something that doesn’t exist in one’s cognition shouldn’t be materializable!

Which meant… the boy before her truly, deeply believed in the existence of “Magic Circuits.”

That thought struck Cidy like thunder.

Moreover—

If he didn’t possess a sufficiently complete theoretical foundation, then even in this spiritual world, something like “Magic Circuits” couldn’t possibly have taken form.

“What exactly… are Magic Circuits!?”

Unable to contain herself any longer, Cidy asked, her tone desperate—almost pleading.

Yan simply smiled faintly.

The 【Simulated Star-Creation Map】 possessed the power to observe celestial bodies—and for Yan, those “celestial bodies” were other worlds.

Observing celestial bodies was a complex process.

Sometimes, with luck, he could inadvertently detect fragments of language from another world—and from those, determine that world’s coordinates.

Not long after his transmigration, just a few days after awakening the 【Simulated Star-Creation Map】, Yan had observed a new world.

And it was one he knew very well.

From the glimpse he caught of that world, he immediately recognized it—it was identical to the world he once knew as “Type-Moon.”

Hidden mages dwelling in the shadows, the Clock Tower, the Holy Grail War, Dead Apostles, True Ancestors—those were all things Yan knew by heart.

Without a doubt—it was that “Type-Moon” world.
