Starting Cultivation During a Trip

Chapter 423 216: Capture Bai Buran! Li Yishan's Stepmother

Chapter 423 216: Capture Bai Buran! Li Yishan's Stepmother

The sky was slightly bright, and a ray of morning light passed through the window, spilling into Zhang Fan's room.

His Primordial Spirit hovered three feet above his head, bathed in sunlight as if draped in a faint layer of gold. The breath he exhaled and inhaled was like the clear moonlight, blending flawlessly with gold and silver interwoven, indescribably mystical and extraordinary.

After a night of baptism, Zhang Fan's Primordial Spirit seemed to have shed a layer of skin, and his aura became more grand and ethereal, unlike before.

Gathering the Primordial Spirit to refine the Great Medicine is the best path of cultivation in the Mortal World.

It must be said that the Wuwei Sect, standing firm until now and continuously contending with the Daoist Sect while keeping their incense burning, indeed has its unique qualities.

A Primordial Spirit from Yin Hu made Zhang Fan feel as if he had swallowed a Treasure Medicine. His Primordial Spirit was tempered in a treasure furnace, taking a solid step toward the Skillful Realm of Great Master.

"The crooked and unorthodox paths are indeed tempting."

Zhang Fan's Primordial Spirit returned to his Body Acupoints, slowly opening his eyes and sighing softly.

The Book of Changes says all under heaven return to the same origin, but with different paths.

In fact, when the Dao reaches Infinite, there is no hierarchy; there is no good or evil, no superior or inferior.

The difference lies in the initial thought.

Because without the Pure Yang Wuji Realm, everyone's actions generate thoughts, judgments, and various emotions.

A single thought can lead to causes and effects, creating various outcomes.

For example, if someone is born with that Pure Yang Wuji Realm, with no thoughts arising, everything becomes clear and evident.

Then whether he grants life or death, there is no real difference!

Just like heaven—thunder and rain may drown people, sunlight and dew nourish people—but in reality, they are the same part of the Heavenly Dao, whether good or bad.

This is the sorrow of man, and also the sorrow of cultivators.

Without experiencing such a realm, one can only practice according to a methodical, step-by-step process.

In reality, cultivation is the most foolish method, yet also the most universally applicable one.

"Cultivation is the most foolish..."

The more Zhang Fan cultivates, the more he understands this statement.

Yet even the most foolish method encompasses all; how many in this world can truly reach the pinnacle and comprehend that Pure Yang Wuji Realm?

During the Ming Dynasty, there was a Great Confucian Scholar, known as the last Saint. He was among those rare exceptions, achieving enlightenment at Longchang and becoming a Saint in one leap, without any cultivation practice, reaching that realm in a single thought.

But throughout history, how many such rare exceptions have there been?

Just like in Journey to the West, when the Tang Monk and his disciples reached the Western Heaven and obtained the True Scripture, the first scripture given to them had no words.

The four disciples thought they had been deceived.

In reality, that wordless scripture was the True Scripture because the ultimate essence of the Buddhist Sect is one word: emptiness.

This emptiness is akin to the Daoist Family's concept of non-action, creating being, and being also reverting to non-being.

Just like when Subodhi asked Sakyamuni how to achieve a state of no thoughts arising, Sakyamuni said, "Now let me tell you the secret..."

In that instant, Subodhi thought of nothing, listening quietly.

At that moment, he reached that realm.

But it was just a moment; Sakyamuni spoke no words, leaving him confused, asking what the secret was.

Sakyamuni said, "I have already told you."

Subodhi was bewildered.

Sakyamuni sighed, "Since you cannot grasp the highest technique, I shall instead impart to you the second-best method—that which is established by words and language."

This is precisely the method of cultivation practiced by the world, akin to the scripture with words obtained by the Tang Monk and his disciples.

"Many people explore their whole lives within this scripture with words and gain nothing..." Zhang Fan murmured softly.

The further he traveled on the path of cultivation, the more the future seemed distant and truly beyond human reach.

"Can I reach the other shore?"

Despite a night of rebirth, though his Primordial Spirit was baptized and transformed, there was still a significant distance to the Great Master Realm.

The Primordial Spirit illuminates with treasure light, instinctively becoming a Feathered Mage.

Such a realm is not so easily achieved, much less when it is only halfway reached.

"Forget it, take one step at a time. If it's not feasible, die halfway there."

At that moment, Zhang Fan inexplicably recalled the words once said by Li Yishan.

Savoring those nonsensical words carefully, they truly held a hint of the Daoist Family's subtle use of non-action.

Now, Zhang Fan had no worries, Yin Hu was gone, Mr. Nian ran away, Chen Dragon fell into a trap set by the Daoist Alliance. Even with the Lord of the Red Palace there, it's unlikely he would remain unharmed.

"Let's call Old Li out for a gathering tonight."

Feeling much lighter, Zhang Fan thought of Li Yishan and of the fragrant meat pot at University City. It occurred to him that he had been busy refining the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Shield recently and hadn't gathered with Li Yishan for some time.

With this thought, Zhang Fan sent a message to Li Yishan, then washed up and went out.

...

Taoyuan Square.

Seventeenth floor, Night is not bright.

Upon arriving at the company, Zhang Fan saw a group of people gathered at the entrance, and it seemed they were staff members from the Jiangnan Province Daoist Alliance.

"What's going on?"

"Unauthorized personnel are not allowed. Who are you?"

As soon as Zhang Fan reached the entrance, he was stopped by one of them.

"I work here, what's the situation?"

"Fanfan, you're finally here."

Wen He came out. At this moment, she had lost her usual warmth, her smile had disappeared, replaced with a hint of worry in her eyes.

"Let him in."

At that moment, a familiar voice called out from within Night is not bright.

Zhang Fan looked up and saw Sui Chunsheng waving at him from inside.

"What's the situation?" Zhang Fan frowned, watching as the Jiangnan Province Daoist Alliance people were checking and seizing Night is not bright's files and records.
