Chapter 86: He’s Not Coming?
Chapter 86: He’s Not Coming?
Chapter 86: He’s Not Coming?"You mean Arthur?"
Talia turned to look at Prince Lambert and her eyes darted back to the window once more as he nodded. He looked solemn.
"What else?"
She asked resting her hand on her cheek while looking outside. She always preferred the window seat and liked to look through the window during any travel. It calmed her for some reason. She didn’t like to converse while travelling.
But she wanted to know more about this situation.
There wasn’t any sound in her headphone for some time and Talia thought there was something wrong with it and she pressed it on her ears.
As she was about to turn, she heard a deep sigh and was surprised.
"I am saying he wants to kill you and this is your reaction?"
Prince Lambert asked exasperated.
"What about it? Isn’t there more to it?" she looked at him and spoke casually.
Prince Lambert sighed once more looking at her. Her hair was a mess, her clothes were dirty and there was even a bullet hole in her jacket. But she still looked composed.
There was this the unwavering trust in her eyes as she said it. She wasn’t questioning. She was confirming her belief.
This is entirely different from the last helicopter ride she took with him and his brother.
Prince Lambert has a complicated expression as he remembered that day. Ten years has already passed.
Time flies...
That day too, she looked messy. Her hair was wet, she was wearing some flowery spring attire during winter and she was holding something dearly in her hands that day too. Just like she was holding a weapon just now.
The only difference was, that day, her eyes were listless and confused. As if she was not all there. The eyes that were filled with disappointment, anger and despair.
And her life wasn’t even in danger that day!
But today after escaping raining bullets, she has this clarity in her eyes?
He couldn’t help but get impressed at her and there was this weird feeling in his chest that he couldn’t understand.
The more he looked at her, the more that feeling grew. It was both pleasant and painful at the same time. He couldn’t describe it.
It’s because she trusts that Arthur Boswell now, isn’t it? That day she didn’t, today she does. That’s the difference.
For some reason there was a sharp pain in his chest as if someone stabbed it. He didn’t know why but he knew it was because he was thinking about her.
Darn you, orangutan! What are you doing to me?
"Wipe your face at least, you..."
Talia could see him clench his teeth to stop himself from cussing and she rolled her eyes.
She realised her lips and throat were dry and thinking about the ordeal she faced minutes ago made her heartbeat race once more.
Only then she remembered she was not taking her medications anymore and she didn’t feel like taking her medications. Also she lost her purse somewhere. She was running holding onto the gun while dropping the purse.
How dumb!
"Do you have wine?" she asked Prince Lambert’s assistant and looking at his face going pale, she felt sorry for him.
’He can say no... It’s not like I’m going to throw him out if he said the truth, right?’
"It’s fine, give me wa..."
Before she finished, she saw Prince Lambert nodding at him and the assistant opened the cooler inside the helicopter and got out a sealed bottle out.
And so Talia was served with a glass of red wine and after letting it air out, she took a sip.
"This is marvellous!"
She couldn’t help but say with a heartfelt smile . The wine tasted like Berry and chocolate. Instantly she felt her mood getting better.
What is better to have other than wine or chocolate when your mood is sour? A wine tasting like chocolate! I’m in heaven!
Prince Lambert was perplexed seeing that smile on her face.
This happy for a wine?
"Look at this dimwit! Acting like she has never drink good wine... Shameful! " he mumbled and Talia didn’t care.
’Yeah! I’m Princess who haven’t tasted this wine before! Sue me!’
Since she is on medication, she doesn’t drink alcohol often and she had never tasted this wine before. She wanted to make note of this wine to buy later.
The assistant looked at Prince Lambert and was confused why the Prince wanted to open the $4000 wine he bought for his girlfriend after
Talia didn’t care why Jordan McAllister was dressed like he was about to rob a bank with his baseball hat, sunglasses and a black leather attire.
If she didn’t know his voice, she’d never guessed it was Jordan.
"Why are you two standing outside?" Jordan asked still not removing his glasses and hat.
"This Princess forgot her keys!" Prince Lambert said in a mocking tone.
Talia didn’t answer and just rolled her eyes.
"Where is Arthur?"
She repeated. She wanted to see him.
"He’s not coming. It’s necessary. I was sent here to bring back his luggage," he said expressionless. Or even if he had an emotion, Talia couldn’t see.
"You’re leaving?"
She asked and her voice shook a bit.
Fred is not coming? He is leaving? He is not going to say good bye to me?
