Chapter 229 All powerful
Chapter 229 All powerful
Within seconds, almost everyone in the arena had been restrained.
Only the Queen... and Roman were left untouched.
Roman looked around and everyone was on the ground, he knew something was terribly wrong when even Victoria and Evelyn couldn’t break free.
The being that had inhabited Sonia’s body walked towards the Queen till she was in front, the Queen didn’t waver in the slightest.
If her best mages could be held down then she didn’t stand a chance, but that doesn’t mean she was going to cower in fear.
Roman stood there, unable to move a single step. Even with all his spells, he knew he wouldn’t be able to do any damage to Sonia, and her staff was now in her hands, making it almost impossible for Roman to strike without being held down.
"So what are you, are you the artifact she was talking about, humanity on the brink of extinction, why don’t you do something about it since you’re all-powerful?" The Queen spoke as she looked around.
"This body is weak, it is impossible to use my full strength without breaking this vessel...what is your excuse you so-called Queen, you need...to..." Sonia staggered backwards as her voice was returning.
Victoria and Evelyn seized the chance and immediately broke free from the chains, Evelyn went for the Queen while Victoria grabbed Roman as Sonia eventually fell to the ground unconscious.
"So we can all agree she wasn’t lying," the Queen spoke as the rest of the Royal guards stood up.
"So the artifacts really are humans, and her artifact gained control over her body, not for long though, and knocked her unconscious" Evelyn muttered.
"The artifact said something about not wanting to break the vessel, meaning it can maintain it but it would result in Sonia dying" The Queen spoke as she turned towards Roman.
"Your... Majesty..." Roman muttered as she stared directly at him.
"If you had come forward, we wouldn’t have been caught off guard, and Victoria you knew about his ability all these while?"
"I found out during my visit to the academy where I saw him training, and since he was serious about becoming a mage I figured I could teach him, then I found out about his ability"
"Back then he couldn’t do much of anything even with his abilities so there was no use in making it public, although now isn’t much different, I was still the one who told him to show his abilities" Victoria replied.
"I also made a blood pact so she wouldn’t tell anyone, though it was fake" Roman added.
"I knew it was fake, how would a mage of your level be able to form a blood pact, I just agreed to put your mind at ease" Victoria replied.
"I figured" Roman put his head down.
"What do we do about her?" Evelyn asked, "We can’t keep her here, it’s destruction waiting to happen, and we can’t take her somewhere else because no one would be able to hold her down, meaning Victoria and I would have to follow along leaving the kingdom"
"That isn’t an option, take her to an empty guest house and remain there, keep an eye on her and when she wakes up, inform me immediately" The Queen spoke.
"Yes, your Majesty"
Both of them replied as she walked away.
Two royal guards picked her up and escorted her to one of the guest rooms, while Victoria, Evelyn, and Roman followed behind.
The Queen didn’t say anything to Roman as she wanted some alone time to think, and with Victoria and Evelyn, he would definitely be protected, she had the entire kingdom to think of.
The threat of demons was mainly a threat since demons usually die in the Frontlines set by Avalon, and the number of demons was reducing over the years so the Queen knew there was time.
If she used Roman in the right way, before her reign was over her kingdom would be brimming with S-ranks and powerful mages, but now it wasn’t possible anymore.
Unless Avalon overcame this hurdle, Roman was practically useless to her plans, and now another revelation that he was the reincarnation of the founder of magic.
The founder of magic was like a god in history books, he could do anything, the one who made magic possible for almost all humans through the awakening ceremony, but being the reincarnation doesn’t guarantee that he would be as strong.
The Queen also doesn’t truly believe that, she had seen him use different types of magic, but the mere fact that a male, or rather this male could be the reincarnation of someone like that is unfathomable to her.
The Queen’s Head was filled with thoughts as she walked back into the palace.
Victoria, Evelyn, and Roman arrived at the guest room and the guards placed Sonia on one of the beds and left the room while Evelyn and Victoria made themselves comfortable.
Roman looked around for a while and after his body had settled down, he wanted to sit but then Evelyn called.
"So Roman..."
He quickly turned around as she gestured for him to come forward and he did just that.
"So you’re the reincarnation of the founder of magic, why do you think that is?" Evelyn asked.
"I’ve had very vivid dreams or visions about the founder, at first I had no idea since I hadn’t seen the founder or knew what he looked like, but I started putting the pieces together after my last vision" Roman replied.
"Your last vision, what did you see?" Victoria asked.
"The founder and others gathered around and it seems he was going to lead them into battle against demons, he said he came up with a way to win, and they should attack Vernhall" Roman replied watching their faces.
Evelyn sighed and leaned her back into the chair while Victoria held her chin.
Roman couldn’t blame them, if he were the one being told he wouldn’t believe it either, but he knew it had to be true, after all he was reincarnated by the goddess of this world, it’s something she’s capable of doing.
