SSS Awakening: Only My Summons Evolve

Chapter 53: The Misfit Alliance

Chapter 53: The Misfit Alliance

The Colosseum had now became a sea of motion. With the Jester’s ten minute time limit, everyone had started moving in a rush to form a party.

Moving through the crowd Verso watched students from the same middle schools gravitated toward each other, teaming up.

’I hate this.’ Verso however did not see anyone in the crowd that he could recognize.

Just then, a firm hand pressed down onto his shoulder from behind.

"Finally!" Verso spun around with a reflexive smile of relief.

He expected to see a classmate or someone who was just as lone as him. But as his gaze locked onto the person standing before him, the smile died a swift cold death.

"If you want revenge, now is not the time..."

He looked at the blonde haired boy in front of him.

It was none other than Xavier, the same elite student who had decided not to return to school after their final grade duel.

He looked comparatively more grounded then when Verso had fought him.

"I don’t want revenge." Xavier said.

Even his voice was steady, lacking the high pitched sneer that was previously present in all of his sentences.

’No way he has any good intentions.’ Verso thought as he looked at the blonde boy’s face.

Although the arrogance had vanished, Verso still had his doubts about him. People like Xavier did not just wake up one day and decide to be .

For someone who was from an elite family like him, losing a duel to a peasant was a stain that usually only blood could wash away.

"I finally found you, brother!"

Just before he could question Xavier on what he wanted, Verso heard a familiar high spirited voice behind him, making him tremble.

Turning around, he saw the green haired boy.

This was none other than Han who weaved through the crowd with the effortless grace as he made his way over to them.

The young master slid between Verso and Xavier, his grin wide and blindingly bright.

"I see you already have a companion!" Han chirped as he looked Xavier up and down with a keen analytical look in his eyes.

"So only two more are needed to complete our party!"

Before Verso could even attempt to correct the brotherly misunderstanding or explain how he and Xavier were far from being companions, Han reached out and put his hand on Xavier’s shoulder.

"A friend of my brother is a friend of mine!"

Xavier looked at Han’s green hair, then at the hand on his shoulder and then finally at Verso.

A complex look passed over his face before he gave a stiff, slight nod.

"Likewise."

Just like that, the party of three was sealed without Verso’s input. Who just stood there with his jaw practically hitting the polished stone floor.

’You guys didn’t even ask me if I wanted to team with you!’ Verso cussed in his head.

But he did not voice out his thoughts as he also knew that he had no other choice.

These were the only people in the entire arena who seemed to recognize his existence at all.

"So, who else are we getting?" Xavier said as he looked towards Han.

’Look at this guy taking the lead.’ Verso silently watched, giving Xavier the side eye.

This was the same man that had said he was going to kill him, and now he was discussing party composition like they were lifelong friends.

"Let me see." Han replied with a smile as he scanned the room, his eyes eventually landing on a girl a few dozen meters away.

She was surrounded by multiple groups, yet she remained completely silent, ignoring the invitations with a detached look on her face.

She was gorgeous, with hair as black as midnight and a presence that made it obvious she was a sought after party member.

"Who is that?" Verso asked, following Han’s gaze.

Han didn’t answer his questions as he just started walking up to her, and as he did the crowd naturally parted.

Whispers slowly started to ripple through the arena like a wave.

"Is that Han Feng?"

"It’s the young master of the Feng Clan!"

Standing in front of the girl, Han gestured back toward Verso and Xavier.

"Young miss of the Blood Clan, would you honor our humble group with your presence?"

Hearing Han’s words, Verso’s eyes widened.

’She is also from a clan?’

Then, as he looked at her face, he realized she was staring directly at him. Her red eyes seemed to pierce through the fabric of his hoodie.

Catching her eyes, Verso felt completely naked as his face went red in embarrassment.

’I hate this guy. First he groups me up with my enemy and now he is embarrassing me in front of a beauty.’

He instantly facepalmed trying to keep his thoughts to himself, but just then he heard a soft girl voice enter his ear.

"Sure."

As Verso removed his hand from his eyes, he saw both the girl and Han walking toward the group.

Han slowly gestured toward her introducing her to them.

"My companions, this is Lady Bloodveil. She will be joining our party."

Verso stood there completely frozen.

’She accepted just like that?’

This situation was completely out of his comprehension. He did not even understand how he had ended up with such a weird party.

"We need one more person." Xavier said from the side, scanning the remaining crowd.

Just before he could find anyone else, a man with jet black hair and the same chilling red eyes as the girl walked over to them.

He moved towards them with a predatory look, a hiss in his voice as he addressed her.

"My dear sister made some friends?"

The man completely ignored Xavier and Verso, treating them like invisible background characters.

He stood in front of Han and the girl, a twisted evil smile stretching across his face.

"Lua, would you let your brother join your team?"

The air around Lua suddenly dropped in temperature. Her eyes flared with a thick, visible bloodlust as she stared her brother down.

"There is absolutely no-"

Before she could finish her rejection, Han placed his hand over the man’s shoulder and laughed out loud, his voice shattering the tension.

"Brother Moon! There would be no greater honor than having you join us."

Everyone in the group went completely silent.

Even the people in the surrounding crowd stopped to stare. Everyone had noticed the blatant animosity between Lua and Moon.

It was an open rivalry that was pretty well known in the elite circles.

’Wasn’t she going to say no?’

Verso looked at Lua’s face, which was twitching in a mixture of shock and rage, equally flabbergasted by Han’s actions.

Then he turned to look at Moon, who remained silent for a second before laughing out loudly.

"Oh my god," Moon wheezed, his red eyes dancing with malice.

"I guess we really have a team of five now."
